I found myself deeply agreeing with the first half of his so-called ‘entrustment to him’ remarks. Secretly, I also admired Principal Dugu’s ability to switch seamlessly between two language modes.
Then, hearing him mention my gender issue with a slightly troubled expression, I could only whisper a somewhat embarrassed reminder:
“Uh, Principal Dugu, I… I was originally a boy. This current girlish appearance… it’s because Master transferred all of his cultivation to me, causing this…”
Feeling a little ashamed to admit my transformation from male to female directly, my voice involuntarily faded. Unfortunately, Principal Dugu possessed profound internal energy, and his hearing was naturally exceptionally keen.
Thus, even though my voice was as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, he heard it all clearly, as if I had spoken in a normal tone.
“Hmm, so that’s it. You were originally a boy, and your Master transferred his lifetime of sinister, evil yin energy to you, which then transformed you into a… gir… l… ?!
He had been nodding slightly while repeating my words, but as he reached the latter part, his voice abruptly rose. The pitch reverted to his local dialect, and those last three words, in particular, were spoken with such force that they vibrated my eardrums painfully.
“Uh… yes… that’s exactly it…” I admitted timidly, rubbing my ears.
His brows furrowed even tighter. Then, I felt a blur before my eyes, and the chair beneath me seemed to slide back more than a foot of its own accord.
By the time I regained my senses, the old man had somehow materialized from behind the desk and was now standing directly in front of me, staring intently with his still-bright eyes.
“What exactly did your Master do to you, little girl? Tell this old man absolutely everything, don’t miss a single word!”
In that moment, I felt his entire body surge with sword intent, his aura instantly reaching its peak, pressing down on me with an almost crushing force.
My mind, which had been wandering with various thoughts, compelled me to nod frantically. I then recounted everything that had happened, honestly and in its entirety, just as he had demanded.
****
As I spoke, his towering aura, which had been powerful enough to shake the heavens and shatter the pillars of the sky, gradually receded.
With each word of Master’s that I relayed, the old man, who had momentarily seemed so wild, arrogant, and disdainful of the world, grew increasingly silent. Throughout the entire recounting, he simply stood there without a word.
It was only long after I finished speaking that he let out a long sigh, then murmured with a touch of melancholy:
“So that’s how it is. Extreme Yin returning to Yang, then using Yang to control Yin. That old demon Dongfang left the academy back then, traveling the world, claiming to seek a method to counteract the fatal flaws of the Sunflower Manual.
To think he actually found it… What a pity… Alas, reversing the divine cultivation path destroys one’s meridians. I fear the day your cultivation succeeded was also the day that old demon met his end, was it not?”
“I don’t know. I only know that Master used his last ten percent of power to collapse the cave entrance, sealing himself inside…” I shook my head, a wave of profound sorrow washing over me.
He let out a soft sigh and patted the top of my head in comfort. Then, he pondered for a long while before speaking with a sigh of resignation:
“It’s not that this old man doesn’t believe your words, but the implications involved are far too significant. According to you, Dong… no, I’ll just call you little girl. You said you were originally the young fellow from Carefree Academy’s ‘Qiushui Zi’ family, a boy, but you transformed into a girl due to the old demon Dongfang’s cultivation transfer. Is that right?”
Still reeling from the matter concerning Master, I could only nod blankly at his words.
“How about this? Are you willing to come with this old man? We’ll go verify whether your words are true or false. How does that sound?” He fixed his gaze on me, suddenly asking in a low voice.
I was stunned, unable to grasp the meaning of his question. I could only ask in surprise:
“Verify where?”
Upon hearing my question, Principal Dugu suddenly smiled again. However, this time, his smile held a mischievous quality, much like an old prankster.
“To verify the truth of your words, and also to examine your current condition, little girl. There’s only one most suitable place for that!
I merely ask if you are willing to accompany this old man on this trip?” he added with a smile.
Regarding his proposition, I couldn’t help but inwardly curse this old Dugu for being so cunning. Asking if I was willing to go with him was a polite gesture.
However, adhering to the principle of ‘courtesy before force,’ if I refused, given the old man’s formidable martial arts and his prominent authority as the principal of Tianwu University, forcing me would be like the Five Poisons Sect’s bone-dissolving rat poison—a guaranteed, inescapable demise, from beginning to end!
After making a clear assessment of our respective positions, and knowing I wasn’t one to refuse a polite offer only to face harsher consequences, I could only nod obediently and reply:
“I shall follow Principal Dugu’s every command!”
Yet, my heart couldn’t help but flutter with a touch of anxiety. Where exactly was this old Dugu planning to take me?
I recalled the dubious, perhaps fabricated, ‘Principal’s Office.AVI’ short stories I’d heard my less-than-proper roommate gleefully describe in the dorms.
Coupling that with my current identity as a petite girl, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of fear and apprehension.
All of this was thanks to Yang Laoer’s shoddy s*x education…
Principal Dugu offered another amiable smile upon hearing my words. Then, he looked up and addressed the two tightly closed office doors:
“Tian’er, please make arrangements. This old man will be taking… hmm… this little Miss Dongfang to the university hospital for some special examinations. Tell the hospital staff to arrange for… ah… just have Director Xue come personally!”
His words were initially spoken with calm composure, yet his voice seemed to carry profound internal energy.
It remotely pierced through the distant, thick, and heavy office doors, and faint echoes could be heard from afar, truly akin to Master’s world-shaking chuckle from back then.
Just as I was still marveling that Principal Dugu was indeed the number one under heaven, the one who governed Tianwu University, he unexpectedly let out a quiet sigh:
“She was, after all, an old acquaintance of his…”
I only fully understood that softly mumbled sentence much later, after I had met Director Xue, suddenly recalling it and piecing it together.
From beyond the distant doors, a soft clinking of the door knocker sounded. Principal Dugu then smiled faintly at me:
“Tian’er already knows. We’ll wait for her a moment; everything will be arranged very quickly!”
