The Overlord’s Thrust and a Bloody Kiss

Chapter 612,630 words22 min read

“You two are treating me like I’m invisible, aren’t you?!”

Qing Zhuiyan was now even more furious than the two combatants.

Her opponents, locked in battle, had audaciously begun to curse at each other, completely disregarding her presence.

Where was her dignity?

Despite being struck by Xiaobai’s Evil Eye, the Green-eyed Black Dragon hadn’t sustained significant damage. Imperial Armaments, by nature, were not easily broken, and by channeling more spiritual energy into it, Qing Zhuiyan could empower her Black Dragon further.

It visibly grew stronger, its massive form expanding five or six times its original size, coiling its serpentine body around them to trap the two in its center.

Even Qing Zhuiyan herself manifested a formidable greenish-black armor, the second ability of her Imperial Armament: Dragon Armor. This not only bolstered her defenses but also significantly amplified her offensive power.

Transformed, she resembled a humanoid beast, exuding an incredibly sharp, potent energy from her entire being.

Then, with a powerful leap, she ascended, swiftly closing the distance to the two figures in the sky by scaling the dragon’s immense form.

As Qing Zhuiyan and Xiaobai were both in the Golden Body Realm, Tou decided to entrust Qing Zhuiyan to Xiaobai alone. He then directed the Ruyi Jingu Bang towards the ground, intending to rescue Ji Jie and the Monkey King.

“Don’t even think about escaping!”

Tou’s hopes were dashed as the Green-eyed Black Dragon deftly intercepted him. The intelligent beast lunged, snatching at Tou’s grappling ropes to prevent his erratic aerial movements.

“You two are both my prey! Neither of you will escape!”

Qing Zhuiyan roared once more, her footfalls on the dragon’s scales bringing her alarmingly close to Tou. Her strength surged, and she launched herself forward like a piercing arrow, delivering a brutal punch that collided head-on with Tou.

The wretched Black Dragon proved relentlessly annoying. Knowing Tou relied on ropes for directional control, it systematically ripped out every rope he had anchored to the cliff face, effectively preventing him from deploying new ones.

Reduced to this tactic, Tou could only wrap his ropes around the Black Dragon itself, but the beast’s perfect command over its own body allowed it to repeatedly alter Tou’s trajectory.

This gave Qing Zhuiyan the perfect opening; seizing the opportune moment, she slammed a fist upwards.

Tou felt as if a mountain had crashed into him. Despite swiftly using the Ruyi Jingu Bang to shield himself, he was still sent hurtling into the rock face like a cannonball.

With a resounding ‘boom,’ a massive crater was gouged into the rock wall. Inside, Tou coughed up several mouthfuls of blood, only finding some relief after hastily swallowing a Blood Qi Pill.

Qing Zhuiyan, unwilling to let Tou escape, commanded the Black Dragon to charge. It opened its maw, a gaping abyss; if it managed to bite Tou, his body would surely be pulverized into a bloody paste, a state from which even Blood Qi Pills could offer no recovery.

Tou abhorred retreat; his preference was always to wield his staff and confront challenges head-on. As the Black Dragon lunged, Tou swiftly fired two ropes, each coiling around one of its formidable horns.

Then, Tou, alone, launched himself towards the dragon, appearing as though he were willingly leaping into the Black Dragon’s cavernous maw.

However, Qing Zhuiyan had a different strategy in mind. She commanded the Black Dragon to violently whip its head upwards, and with the ropes still entwined around its horns, Tou was sent hurtling high into the sky.

Qing Zhuiyan’s intent was clear: by flinging Tou skyward, she would make it nearly impossible for him to anchor his ropes to the cliff face and alter his trajectory. This, in turn, would allow her Black Dragon to more easily ensnare Tou, who was proving as elusive as a loach.

Yet, she gravely underestimated Tou. When an enormous cone suddenly materialized in his hand, Qing Zhuiyan gnashed her teeth in fury, realizing she had been outmaneuvered.

Indeed, it was Tou’s most favored technique: the transformative power of the Ruyi Jingu Bang. This colossal cone was easily two or three times the size of the dragon’s head.

To ensure the cone struck the Black Dragon with maximum precision, Tou deliberately waited until the beast’s maw was wide open and it was moments from pouncing, then unleashed the transformation.

“Rumble rumble rumble~”

The colossal cone plummeted like a falling mountain. Its sharpened tip precisely pierced the Black Dragon’s mouth, and upon impact with the ground, the beast was utterly crushed, rendered incapable of rising again!

The ordeal was far from over. As Tou landed with the cone, his ropes flew out, ensnaring the Monkey King and Little Four, and he swiftly transported the two injured individuals to a relatively flat surface atop the massive cone.

Tou would never expend his Spirit Replenishment Technique on mere monkeys, so he simply tossed down a few Blood Qi Pills before charging towards Ling Er, intent on rescuing Ji Jie.

He had no need to concern himself with Qing Zhuiyan; Xiaobai had her thoroughly engaged above. Tou’s immediate objective was to rescue Ji Jie and bestow upon her a Spirit Replenishment Technique, thereby balancing their combat strength against the enemy’s.

Indeed, chaos reigned below as well. Qing Zhuiyan had brought numerous Spiritual Vein Realm minions, but half of them had fallen under the sway of Xiaobai’s hypnotic eyes. The remaining, stronger half, found themselves battling both their former comrades and the incessantly darting eyes, leaving them no opportunity to assist anyone else.

“This little sister is quite formidable! Ji Jie, what is her relation to your Akatsuki Group?”

Ling Er watched as Tou effortlessly vanquished the Green-eyed Black Dragon, a feat that would have demanded considerable time and effort from him. He was convinced that Tou was no ordinary individual.

The naturally belligerent Ling Er was instantly captivated by Tou. In his eyes, Tou was a delicate, alluring beauty, and the thought of capturing them to serve his desires… it sent a thrill through him.

Ji Jie, keenly aware of the raw lust in Ling Er’s gaze, felt a surge of disgust. However, she had no intention of revealing Tou’s true gender to him.

Tou, being the apprentice of the Heart-Eating Demoness, was a matter of utmost secrecy, one she certainly wouldn’t divulge to Ling Er. Instead, she merely addressed him with a frigid tone:

“You’d best not set your sights on them!”

“So you won’t tell me, eh? Amusing!” Ling Er retrieved his spear from the ground, preparing for battle. Then, as if a thought had struck him, his eyes flickered towards Ji Jie, who was still groaning and clutching her wound.

“I remember telling you about my family, didn’t I?”

“Weren’t they… weren’t they all slaughtered by the Akatsuki Group?!”

“And yet you joined them! Do you know how that makes me feel?!”

With another brutal thrust, the spear plunged into Ji Jie’s shoulder, and Ling Er’s eyes burned crimson.

He had once been the son of a small town’s mayor, destined to grow up healthy and strong, cherished by his parents and family.

But that accursed Akatsuki Group! In pursuit of some vile forbidden ritual, they had mercilessly massacred every single person in his entire town. Had Ling Er not been in a neighboring town, charming women at the time, he would never have miraculously clung to life!

He subsequently joined the Carefree Sect, vowing to personally annihilate the Akatsuki Group.

Ji Jie, once the senior sister of the Carefree Sect, had been the person he most admired, treating him like her own kin in those days…

Now, with Ji Jie’s defection to the Akatsuki Group, his sworn oath to destroy them meant he would have to personally extinguish the life of the very person he held in highest regard…

How cruel this must be!

“Xiao Er, your resolve wavers,” Ji Jie taunted. “To seek vengeance… to avenge your family, yet you hesitate to strike me down like this… Bound by sentiment, you will never truly succeed in your revenge!”

Ji Jie clutched the spear still impaled in her shoulder, her teeth gritted against the searing pain as she forced a smile. That smile, like a beguiling specter, sent a tremor through Ling Er’s heart.

“Don’t call me Xiao Er! The reason I’m not killing you now is because you still have some use. Just wait until I…”

“Usefulness, is it? Heh, heh. You can plainly see that girl is extraordinary; in their presence, I am utterly insignificant!” Ji Jie gazed at the erratically flying Tou, fearlessly goading Ling Er.

“Are you truly so eager to die?!”

“So you’re saying, Xiao Er doesn’t want his big sister to die, huh… Hahahaha… Talk of revenge is simply laughable. The senior disciple of the Carefree Sect, hah, I see you’re no different now from the little brat who used to trail behind me years ago! Ridiculous, truly ridiculous! To still harbor thoughts of revenge in this state, you’re making me die of laughter, hahahaha…”

Clutching her stomach, Ji Jie laughed with a frantic intensity, her mirth mirroring her own madness. What she had sacrificed, what she had endured to avenge Xiao Yuan, only she truly knew the depths of it all.

“I will kill you, but not now!”

Upon hearing her words, Ling Er’s face darkened with annoyance, his voice deepening to a low growl. He wrenched the long spear from Ji Jie’s shoulder, then spun, aiming it squarely at the approaching Tou.

The one who had once been dearest to him was now an enemy… Ling Er’s heart was a maelstrom of conflicting emotions. The vexation, the simmering rage—he would now unleash the entirety of his pent-up fury upon Tou!

Tou’s Three-Dimensional Maneuver Gear was predicated on agility. Coincidentally, Ling Er’s mastery of the long spear was equally fluid.

“Overlord’s Thrust!”

This was the inaugural ability of his Imperial Armament, the Cold Heart Overlord Spear. He thrust it precisely towards Tou’s trajectory, unleashing a spear phantom imbued with an overlord’s majestic aura, carrying faint wisps of chilling energy straight at Tou.

Tou remained unperturbed; a linear assault such as this was the simplest to evade. A mere fractional shift, he believed, would suffice to dodge such a clumsy attack.

However, Tou was gravely mistaken. His evasive maneuver was far too obvious, for no sooner had he dodged the spear phantom than Ling Er’s spear, like a mountain cleaver, was upon him.

The speed was blinding, and the spear phantom had cleverly obscured Tou’s vision. By the time Tou realized his predicament, he had already been struck. Fortunately, he had mimicked Qing Zhuiyan’s Dragon Armor, encasing his entire body within the Ruyi Jingu Bang, preventing him from being cleaved in two.

Nevertheless, the immense power of the Overlord’s Thrust still left Tou’s head reeling, and blood burst forth from his body.

He swiftly changed direction, but Ling Er relentlessly pursued him. Tou was certain that if he slowed down even slightly, his backside would be utterly annihilated.

“Overlord’s Thrust! Overlord’s Thrust!”

Tou’s rear tightened involuntarily; ‘Damn it, that beast really means to stab me!’ In his panic, Tou abruptly changed direction, unwittingly falling straight into Ling Er’s cunning trap. He took another direct hit, sending him crashing to the ground.

After a ‘boom,’ Tou cursed the treacherous man in his mind, swallowed several Blood Qi Pills, and hastily fled!

He hadn’t come to brawl with Ling Er; he, a mere Spiritual Vein Realm mid-stage weakling, would be courting death to fight against a Golden Body Realm peak expert.

The escape route he had taken earlier was a deliberate ploy to lure Ling Er away. Now, returning along the same path, and having consumed several Blood Qi Pills, his spiritual energy was overflowing. With a ‘swoosh,’ he shot into the air like a sky-piercing rocket.

As he retraced his steps, a thought suddenly struck Tou. He commanded the Ruyi Jingu Bang to transform into a smaller golden dragon. With a mighty roar, he sent the golden dragon to intercept Ling Er.

Though the golden dragon was instantly cleaved in two by a single sweeping strike from Ling Er, Tou successfully managed to scoop Ji Jie into his arms.

“Master~”

Ji Jie wiped her mouth, pouting as she leaned in. It seemed she had anticipated Tou would use the Spirit Replenishment Technique on her.

“What the hell are you thinking?! You useless dog!”

Tou immediately slapped her, his face a mask of disgust. But then, gritting his teeth, he bit Ji Jie’s lower lip, despite her questioning expression!

“Mmmph…”

Ji Jie’s body stiffened for a few moments before Tou finally tossed her aside. Surprisingly, Tou hadn’t been drained dry as he had been with Xiaobai; it seemed only about half of his spiritual energy had been depleted.

Observing Ji Jie’s current strength, which was only at the peak of the Spiritual Vein Realm, Tou understood why. Xiaobai, being in the late Golden Body Realm, required far more spiritual energy than Ji Jie.

However, this was a good thing for Tou! He wouldn’t have to experience that feeling of being completely drained again!

“You little good-for-nothing, go and eliminate those people for me!”

Tou now felt completely at ease. He had witnessed Ji Jie’s power; with her and Xiaobai working together, dealing with this group would be a simple matter!

If Ji Jie became weak again, he could just replenish her spiritual energy!

“Yes, Master!” Ji Jie stretched her limbs, slowly approaching Ling Er, a look of disdain on her face. “Now, I’ll show you what true revenge looks like!”

“Xiaobai! Give me blood!”

Suddenly, a massive torrent of blood surged from all directions. These were the humans Xiaobai had controlled, and they instantly withered into desiccated corpses, utterly beyond revival.

With Xiaobai’s sacrificed blood, combined with a portion of Ji Jie’s own, Ji Jie’s power surged dramatically, making her strength comparable to that of a Heavenly Human Realm expert!

“Tou! You should offer your blood too!”

Xiaobai, having offered her blood, her face pale and her figure haggard, used a punch from Qing Zhuiyan to retreat to Tou’s side.

“No way!”

The scene of Xiaobai tying him up and treating him as a blood-producing machine flashed through Tou’s mind. He disagreed with Xiaobai, fearing she would use force, and instinctively recoiled.

“Fine! Just kiss me quickly! Restore me! I still need to help Brother Jie!”

Tou’s impression of Xiaobai was that she was incredibly forceful, never caring about others’ thoughts when doing things. She eerily vanished from her spot, and the next moment, she had wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him!

‘Didn’t she say she’d never kiss me, not even if she died?! How long has it been?!

Tou’s mind was a whirlwind of confusion, unsure what to think.

“Why isn’t it working?! Hurry and use the Spirit Replenishment Technique on me! I still need to help Brother Jie!”

How could Tou dare to use it?! Xiaobai, defying her urge to vomit, kissed Tou but didn’t get the desired result, growing anxious!

“If you don’t give it to me, I’ll take your blood!”

“I’ll use it, I’ll use it!”

If Tou’s body hadn’t been immobilized, he would have long since kicked this person away. Now, fearing a repeat of being used as a blood bag, he could only reluctantly agree.

“Ermm~”

Finishing quickly, Tou was as weak as an old dog. Fortunately, control over his body returned, but having just recovered with Blood Qi Pills, Xiaobai transferring blood to Ji Jie left him once again on the verge of collapse. She embraced Tou, leaning in for another kiss!
