Even the full-force strike of the legendary hunter Seti failed to completely incapacitate Leviathan.
As it descended into frenzy, the colossal beast easily stirred up hundred-meter-high waves, sweeping toward the surrounding ships like a tsunami.
It suddenly opened its massive jaws, and a terrifying suction instantly swallowed two nearby S-rank hunters, along with a large number of low-tier sea beasts and hunters.
Their screams never had the chance to escape, drowned out by the horrifying sound of bones being crushed.
The previously faltering Leviathan kin immediately launched a frenzied counterattack.
They surged as if injected with stimulants, furious roars rising one after another as they recklessly rammed into the steel behemoths floating on the sea.
The once favorable battle situation took a sharp turn for the worse, and the frontline defenses were on the verge of collapse.
Without even turning back, Ming Yu could no longer afford hesitation.
She directly took over command from the heavily injured Seti, pressing her finger against the earpiece and issuing a stern order to the remaining eight S-rank hunters over the communication channel.
“This place is mine to hold. You all fall back and reinforce the line. Do not let the swarm advance even half an inch!”
The channel fell silent for a brief moment before a unified response came through.
“Understood.”
At a time like this, no one had the luxury to question orders.
If even a single S-rank narwhal broke through the line, the consequences would be catastrophic, even if it wasn’t as dangerous as Leviathan.
Moreover, it seemed Seti’s punch had taken effect.
Leviathan no longer advanced, instead raging in place.
With someone willing to shoulder the burden of confronting a legend alone, the others had no objections.
They immediately executed the temporary commander’s orders.
Once the others retreated, Ming Yu tensed her body.
Electromagnetic chains shot from her wrist guards, anchoring onto Leviathan’s head and pulling her into the air.
Her body shot forward like a fired shell, the sound of air tearing past her ears.
She was not Seti.
Her combat style was entirely different.
For Ming Yu, there were only two situations for head-on confrontation—overwhelming victory, or being crushed.
Finding a weakness and ending it in a single strike—that was her method.
So far, the vast majority of sea beasts she had hunted had weaknesses concentrated in a few key areas, with the eyes and gills being the most vulnerable.
Her crimson blade sliced through scale harder than steel, tore open resilient skin, and plunged deep into flesh.
The blazing edge carved upward, dragging a ribbon of blood mist in its wake.
Just as the blade was about to reach the eye, the sluggish Leviathan finally reacted, roaring as it violently shook its body.
Nearby hardened scales suddenly rose and slammed into Ming Yu, instantly tearing open severe wounds across her abdomen and thighs.
Mid-air, Ming Yu endured the pain and swiftly took out a gene injection.
Without hesitation, she injected it directly into her vein.
“Thump—thump—”
Her heartbeat pounded violently.
The blood holes left by the scales were quickly sealed, as newly formed flesh visibly regenerated over the wounds.
Gripping the thermal blade tightly, a bloodthirsty flame ignited within Ming Yu’s crimson eyes.
The ferocity buried deep within her bones was fully awakened by blood and pain.
Across the battlefield, close-quarters combat had not lasted long.
This time, the Hunter Association had mobilized everything.
Cannon fodder forces had been deployed elsewhere, and every hunter present here was an elite among elites.
Yet they had never experienced such a long twenty-one minutes.
With every passing minute, cries faded into silence.
With every passing second, lives were lost.
When the energy shields finally signaled depletion, the hunters slowed their assault and began retreating in batches as planned, taking brief moments to rest and recharge before returning to the fight.
During this short respite, the resting hunters stared intently into the distance.
A silver-white figure danced through the air like a butterfly, while furious roars echoed endlessly.
To Leviathan, humans were no more than ants.
And yet, a mere “ant” dared to wreak havoc upon its body.
When had it ever endured such humiliation?
At this point, Leviathan had already lost control.
Without further thought, a vast surge of psionic energy erupted, forming a giant invisible hand that reached toward Ming Yu mid-air.
No matter what—even if the tentacled monster arrived or unseen enemies lurked nearby—
it would kill this human first.
For any species, mass often dictated dominance in nature.
Larger beings devoured smaller ones.
With Leviathan’s sheer mass, even without refined psionic control, its psionic strength remained terrifyingly immense.
Ming Yu felt a tidal wave of psionic force crash over her.
In an instant, her consciousness was submerged, and her body lost control.
In a life-and-death battle, even a moment of lapse was fatal.
“Watch out!”
The observing hunters, all seasoned elites, immediately noticed the anomaly in the silver figure’s movements.
They shouted in alarm, their expressions turning pale.
To withstand a legendary beast for this long—
her strength was already infinitely close to legend.
She was their last hope.
Leviathan opened its massive maw in excitement.
Rows upon rows of razor-sharp teeth gleamed with a terrifying luster.
The monstrous jaws locked onto the immobilized Ming Yu.
At the critical moment—
a streak of pure white flashed past.
At the same time, a series of sonic booms erupted as another figure slammed into Leviathan’s side, disrupting its balance.
“What? There’s another expert?!”
“Who is it?”
“Wait—that’s… Elder Jiang?!”
The hunters widened their eyes in disbelief.
The usually carefree old man Jiang Chen possessed strength capable of shaking a legendary beast?
At that instant, countless gazes locked onto the figure colliding with Leviathan, breaths held in shock.
Jiang Chen shattered Leviathan’s psionic assault, allowing Ming Yu to regain control of her body.
As she came to her senses, a familiar gripping sensation came from her left arm.
Ming Yu turned her head and met a pair of sharp, spirited eagle eyes.
The moment she recognized the white eagle clutching her arm, the killing intent in her gaze faded, replaced by deep confusion.
She would never forget—
there had once been a companion who had fought beside her through life and death.
White Feather…
Why had it come back…?
Ming Yu opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment.
Before she could think of what to say, White Feather spoke first.
Its tone was no longer as carefree as before, carrying a faint trace of sadness.
“Ming Yu… don’t die…”
“If you die… what happens to my sea beast barbecue…?”
