Join the ServerTurning to Bai Lan, she had run a considerable distance.
Once certain no one pursued her, she quickly sought out a secluded spot, dug a shallow pit, and buried herself within.
As she settled, a shroud of Yin Cold Qi emanated from her, enveloping her form completely.
“I’ve expended too much power in such quick succession,” Bai Lan murmured, her voice weak.
“I must rest; I can’t endure any longer.”
With that, she succumbed to a profound sleep, the time of her awakening utterly unknown.
Meanwhile, Long Lingyu found himself in a precarious state.
The formidable technique he had unleashed, trapping dozens of elite Heavenly Talents within an illusion in a single breath, had exacted a tremendous toll on his energy reserves.
Only after confirming their complete immersion in the illusion did he swiftly depart.
Kong Xiu, however, was about to face a grim fate.
The moment the trial-takers broke free from his mental shackles, they all turned their attacks on him simultaneously.
Even he could not withstand the assault of so many individuals.
He, too, died swiftly, only to revive in another location.
Yet, his sacrifice was not in vain, for it bought Bai Lan and Long Lingyu precious time.
Had he not held back those dozens of cultivators, Long Lingyu would likely have struggled to impede them with his techniques.
“Damn it, that woman escaped!” the trial-takers exclaimed, seething with anger, after finally cornering and eliminating Kong Xiu.
However, their fury was futile.
Bai Lan’s whereabouts were unknown, as were Long Lingyu’s.
As for Kong Xiu, though he had fallen and lost some items, he habitually kept his most valuable possessions at his residence.
Thus, the items he dropped were not those acquired during this recent period.
The losses were, in fact, negligible.
The revived individuals quickly regrouped.
“Hey, Kong Xiu, you died too?” Ye Chong and the others questioned upon reuniting with him.
“What? You all died too? What happened?” Kong Xiu asked, bewildered.
Ye Chong and the others quickly recounted the events after Bai Lan’s departure.
However, they admitted they didn’t know the identity of the person who helped, as they had never met face-to-face.
“So that’s what happened. Let’s find a safe place to rest first,” Kong Xiu suggested.
“Lady Bai and the others will likely hide for a while before rejoining us.”
“Eh? But we didn’t contribute much this time,” Ye Chong worriedly asked.
“What if she’s unwilling to share the treasures with us?”
“How could that be?” Xia Mi responded.
“When Lady Bai left earlier, she told us she’d find a time to regroup. Since she said that, Lady Bai shouldn’t be the type to hoard everything.”
The group exchanged a few more words, their worries proving unfounded.
Turning to the trial-takers ensnared by Long Lingyu, after regaining consciousness, they were immediately eliminated by other trial-takers.
Unaware of the true culprit, they mistakenly believed Long Lingyu had killed them.
“Damn that Long Lingyu! What kind of power was that? Why couldn’t even I resist it?” Sheng Hui fumed, his anger blazing.
His purpose in pursuing them was not to seize Bai Lan’s possessions, but to ascertain if she possessed the Blazing Sun Sacred Body.
If she did, he intended to invite her to join the Grand Beginning Holy Land.
Though not an ancient clan, the Grand Beginning Holy Land ranked among the Ten Great Holy Lands of the Eastern Continent.
In the Eastern Continent, to be called a Holy Land meant standing at the apex of human power, a stature that even some ancient clans might not surpass in their profound foundations.
The Ancient Clans, Holy Lands, Aristocratic Families, and Imperial Dynasties represented the four foundational forces: the primordial human race, cultivation sects, later human generations, and the secular world.
Each of these four forces boasted its own supreme powers: the Eight Ancient Clans, the Ten Great Holy Lands, the Eight Aristocratic Families, and the Four Imperial Dynasties.
The Eight Ancient Clans included the Stone Clan, Snow Clan, Thunder Clan, Azure Clan, Wind Clan, Flame Clan, Azure Clan, and Gold Clan.
The Ten Great Holy Lands were the Grand Beginning Holy Land, Nine Heavens Holy Land, Shaking Light Holy Land, Myriad Nether Holy Land, Veil of Obscurity Holy Land, Grand Abyss Holy Land, Three Purity Holy Land, Four Extremes Holy Land, Nine Yin Holy Land, and Jade Pool Holy Land.
The Eight Aristocratic Families comprised the Jiang, Ji, Si, Ying, Yun, Gui, Yao, and Gu families.
The Four Imperial Dynasties were the Undying Dynasty, Imperishable Dynasty, Feathered Ascension Dynasty, and Celestial Awakening Dynasty.
These were the publicly known super-powers.
As for the number of more reclusive, low-key forces like the Soul Clan, it was hard to say.
Since humanity’s rise in the mythical era, many supreme figures had emerged, leading to a proliferation of ancient heritage forces.
However, these entities preferred to remain inconspicuous, rarely appearing in the public eye.
Protected by the rules of the Twilight Trial, they had not been eliminated, yet Sheng Hui and the others still felt their pride deeply wounded.
As peerless Heavenly Talents of their generation, how could they tolerate being defeated?
Not even once.
Consequently, some of the more hot-tempered individuals sought vengeance.
They began posting bounties among the trial-takers, seeking Bai Lan and Long Lingyu.
The rewards were substantial enough to entice ordinary trial-takers.
As for Long Lingyu, where was he at this moment?
He currently lay submerged at the bottom of a desert oasis, enveloped by a golden lotus.
His exhaustion was profound, and he, too, required rest.
It was uncertain when he would awaken from his recuperation.
In any case, both of them had become famous figures in the Void Heaven Realm, even drawing the attention of some super-powers.
Firstly, there was the Grand Beginning Holy Land.
Such powerful organizations possessed means to communicate with the outside world.
The Grand Beginning Holy Land was situated in the Grand Beginning Mountain Range in the eastern part of the Eastern Continent.
It was a vast and magnificent complex of palaces.
The Grand Beginning Holy Land was divided into two sections: the Yin Divine Palace and the Yang Divine Palace.
Sheng Hui was the Holy Son of the Yang Divine Palace, while the position of Holy Maiden in the Yin Divine Palace was currently vacant.
Upon receiving Sheng Hui’s message, the Palace Lord of the Yang Divine Palace, Sheng Tian, immediately informed the Holy Lord, Bei Gongming.
Bei Gongming was one of the Eastern Continent’s top experts, possessing a cultivation at the Ascension realm.
He was comparable to Nong Yue of the Luoshen Sect, though Nong Yue was in the full Ascension realm, while Bei Gongming was merely at the Half-step Ascension realm.
There was still a significant gap between them.
Nong Yue had reached the peak of the Ascension realm, while Bei Gongming was only in the mid-stage.
Though only two minor realms separated them, these two minor realms were not something one could achieve in a short time.
“Holy Lord, Sheng Hui has sent back a message from the Void Heaven Realm,” Sheng Tian, the Palace Lord of the Yang Divine Palace, began.
“He claims to have discovered an individual possessing the Extreme Yin Sacred Body in the Void Heaven Realm, and asks if the Holy Land should intervene to bring this woman back.”
“Is that truly so?” Bei Gongming mused, slightly surprised.
Their Grand Beginning Holy Land had been searching for an Extreme Yin Sacred Body for a very long time, and they had not expected one to appear in this era.
“According to Sheng Hui, this woman has silver hair and blue eyes, and can also unleash Yin Cold Qi. Besides an owner of the Extreme Yin Sacred Body, I cannot imagine what other physique it could be,” Sheng Tian stated.
“If it is indeed true, then she must naturally be brought back to the Holy Land,” Bei Gongming declared.
“However, the Void Heaven Realm is different from the outside world. Unless we can find her outside, it would be meaningless. Have Sheng Hui find a way to contact her and invite her to the Grand Beginning Holy Land.”
Even with his immense power, he could not bring someone back from the Void Heaven Realm to the Holy Land.
Therefore, he could only rely on the Grand Beginning disciples within the Void Heaven Realm to win Bai Lan over.
“Ah, having Sheng Hui approach Bai Lan might not be convenient,” Sheng Tian suggested.
“Perhaps it would be better to have Qing’er seek her out? After all, they are both women, which might make it easier to establish contact.”
The ‘Qing’er’ he referred to was Bei Gongming’s youngest daughter.
Bei Gongming pondered for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
Bai Lan and Long Lingyu had caused quite a stir in the Void Heaven Realm.
Many speculated that Bai Lan possessed the Extreme Yin Sacred Body.
As for Long Lingyu, the theories were less conclusive.
They believed the abilities Long Lingyu displayed were likely a form of eye technique, leading them to conclude that Long Lingyu possessed a Heavenly Eye.
While a Heavenly Eye was not a physique, it was even rarer and more extraordinary than one.
