Compared to the Giant Wolf Spiders, Dark Spiders were smaller—about half a person’s height.
Their strength wasn’t particularly high.
But in exchange—
They possessed speed and agility that surpassed human dynamic vision.
Their silk was highly adhesive.
Once hit, movement would be temporarily restricted.
Even struggling with full strength would take about five seconds to break free.
Which meant—
If you got caught, you were guaranteed to be attacked.
And although Ye Yousheng couldn’t see it—
The spiders had likely already filled the entire cave with webs, forming a perfect trap.
Waiting for prey to walk right in.
And Ye Yousheng—
Was the unlucky monkey who had stumbled straight into the spider’s lair.
With his pitiful HP—
Four more hits would mean GAME OVER.
Forget the Heaven-Mending War—
He might die here without ever meeting another Traveler.
There was only one thing he could do.
Kill the remaining fifty-six spiders—
And walk out of this pitch-black cave alive.
Wind Step had seven uses left.
Each lasted about a minute and a half.
Plenty of time.
Wind Slash had five uses left.
Wind Bind had three.
That was everything he had.
If all of it wasn’t enough—
Then he would die.
From earlier experience, Ye Yousheng decided—
Hit-and-run was his best option.
If he stayed in one place, he’d be immobilized by silk and shredded.
Moving carried the risk of hitting webs—
But staying still was worse.
His eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness.
Beyond the glowing red eyes—
He could now vaguely make out their shapes.
“Hiss—!”
Before he could fully see—
A spider lunged at him with terrifying speed.
In a flash—
He moved.
Circling behind it—
And stabbing straight into its abdomen!
Clang!
Unexpectedly—
The dagger didn’t pierce through.
Instead, it struck something hard—
Sparks flying.
“Oh… blocking for each other now?”
These near–Third Tier spiders had developed a primitive intelligence.
Not smart—
But aware.
He retreated sharply.
A pursuing claw only tore his clothes—
Missing his flesh.
That failed strike told him everything—
These enemies were even more troublesome than he thought.
The spiders gave him no time to breathe.
One after another, they attacked in coordinated waves.
No friendly fire.
Perfect timing.
For a moment—
It was like being caught in a storm.

He avoided vital points, minimizing damage—
Waiting for an opening.
The spiders piled onto him—
Like they intended to suffocate him if they couldn’t kill him.
“Swarm tactics… makes individuals lose awareness…”
“Wind Slash.”
At the right moment—
He cut open a path with a blade of wind—
And broke through!
“Wind Bind.”
He immediately pulled a spider from the inner cluster—
Yanking it outward.
Rip!
Their own blades tore into each other—
Bodies crashing into the cave ceiling before falling like trash.
“How many did that take out?”
“Five? Ten?”
Ye Yousheng realized—
He preferred fighting alone.
No hesitation.
No responsibility.
Complete freedom.
And now—
He didn’t even need to care about himself.
No need to stop bleeding.
No need to bandage.
No need to recover.
Every injury healed instantly.
This body—
Was made for combat.
Forget it.
Forget yourself.
Forget your own existence.
Focus only on what’s in front of you.
Focus on the enemy.
Focus on killing.
Injury meant nothing.
Pain meant nothing.
He had long grown used to it.
Even broken bones wouldn’t make him flinch.
If anything—
Pain was proof he was still alive.
For someone with no desire to live—
That was almost comforting.
His life was worthless.
His past—
Unbearable.
Whenever he remembered it—
His mind turned pitch black with rage.
Slash.
Smash.
Destroy.
Rip their legs apart.
Crush those glowing red eyes.
Tear everything to pieces.
And yet—
Strangely—
He didn’t lose control.
Because of [Game Life]’s effect—
As long as he was conscious, he would remain rational.
His vision was still limited—
He couldn’t react to attacks from behind.
At least—
Not before.
Now—
He adapted.
He listened.
He smelled.
He felt.
The moment he sensed danger—
He moved.
He was learning.
Improving.
Evolving.
<Skill [Swift Reaction] has leveled up. Current level: Lv7>
But—
This was the limit.
After killing over fifty spiders—
He finally ran out.
No more magic uses.
His stamina was gone.
Most importantly—
His HP was nearly depleted.
From 260—
To 26.
Three spiders remained.
No chance.
None.
He collapsed onto the ground, weak.
No visible wounds—
Yet completely drained.
The three spiders slowly approached—
Almost savoring how to devour him.
Then—
He cut a nearby strand of silk.
A web dropped from above—
Trapping all three.
“You’ve been trapping prey with webs this whole time…”
“Didn’t expect to end up trapped yourselves, huh…”
With his last strength—
He walked forward.
And killed them.
One by one.
The red lights vanished.
Pure darkness remained.
He had escaped death—
Right?
“Hissssss…”
No.
The sound returned.
Eight massive red lights appeared in the darkness.
<Detected killing intent: 1 target, directly ahead>
Larger than a Giant Wolf Spider.
Deep crimson eyes glowing ominously.
Name: Dark Spider Queen (BOSS)
Lv: 44 (Third Tier)
HP: 6440/6440
MP: 360/360
Skills: [Sticky Silk Lv7] [Web Weaving Lv9] [Thread Control Lv4] [Night Vision Lv MAX] [Egg Laying Lv6]
“Hah… should’ve known…”
“If this is a nest… of course there’s a queen…”
He couldn’t move anymore.
He lay flat on the ground.
This time—
There really was no way out.
So this is how I die…
“Yousheng…”
A voice.
Hallucination?
“Yousheng!”
He snapped awake.
At that final moment—
His body moved instinctively.
The queen’s limb struck him—
Sending him flying.

But—
He didn’t die.
Sliding down the cave wall, battered—
He let out a weak laugh.
“Sorry… but I’m still alive.”
At the last second—
He had done something absurd.
Opened his status panel—
And dumped all his stat points into Constitution.
He had leveled up twice.
Twenty points.
Each point gave ten HP.
Two hundred extra HP—
Saved his life.
But—
That only bought him one more moment.
What about the next attack?
“Yousheng! Take out your phone!”
This time—
It was clear.
Not a hallucination.
Someone was calling him.
Either way, he was going to die.
Might as well try.
He pulled out his phone.
“Call my name… and release me!”
“…”
Who are you?
What name?
How?
No time.
The queen was already approaching.
“Hurry, Yousheng!”
“I don’t want you to die again!”
His mind raced.
Then—
He remembered.
That voice.
He had heard it before.
When he first woke up.
Back then—
He had called out a name unconsciously.
That name was—
“EVE…”
“Yes. Call me.”
As if possessed—
He pressed the blank app on his phone—
And shouted—
“Yiwu!”
A white magic circle appeared above him—
Illuminating the entire cave.
A divine figure manifested before him.
Untouchable.
Overwhelming.
The Goddess of Life—
Had descended.
