The Shame of the Dragon

Chapter 8556 words5 min read

Sharp winds blew directly at her, chilling her body and making her thighs tremble.

Lan Ruobing stood atop the dragon’s head, utterly frozen.

‘Stop! Stop! Please stop!’

She cried out internally, yet watched as the clouds above became increasingly within reach.

Xiaoyue Middle School below her shrunk rapidly, almost appearing as small as her palm.

But the water dragon continued to ascend!

‘What was happening?! Why was the water dragon she summoned completely out of control?!’

She had only intended to summon a water dragon to carry her a short distance into the sky, away from the fervent crowd.

Yet, now, this water dragon seemed determined to reach the heavens themselves!

‘Why?! Isn’t she a divine dragon? Why can’t she even control a mere water dragon?’

It was truly a disgrace to her dragon existence.

She was on the verge of tears.

The only slight sense of security she felt was that as the water dragon soared straight into the clouds, her center of gravity remained downwards.

Her feet felt as if they were glued to the dragon’s head, keeping her perfectly stable.

Otherwise, at such a height, one careless slip would force her to transform into a divine dragon.

Then, she’d be packed up and taken home by some noble young lady, trained into a dragon maid…

Well, the above was pure fantasy, but being coveted by various factions, turned into a plush toy, and forced to leave behind descendants was a very real possibility.

In an era where supernatural abilities reigned supreme, bloodline power alone was enough to drive people to madness, let alone the bloodline of a divine dragon.

‘Sigh.’

‘Who told me to be a girl?’

‘If only I were a boy, I wouldn’t have to worry. I could ask a dozen noble young ladies to come, go door-to-door making babies, live off their wealth, and reach the pinnacle of my dragon life…’

Alas, there were no ‘ifs’.

Just as she was lamenting, she suddenly felt a jolt beneath her feet.

Only then did she realize that the water dragon had finally stopped.

‘What a good child. I thought it was going to fly into outer space.’

“Hoo~”

Clutching her chest, she let out a long sigh of relief.

She looked up and around.

Indeed, Xiaoyue Middle School was gone.

Below her was an endless sea of clouds, the sun shone brightly before her, and the distant cloud sea glowed golden.

It was a scene one could only witness from an airplane.

‘Sigh.’

She let out another long sigh, intending to try and control the water dragon.

However, she suddenly felt the dragon’s head surge beneath her feet.

Pre-empting something, her pupils sharply contracted.

“Roar!”

The water dragon looked down on all creation, its throat surging as it let out a dragon’s roar.

The sound was like rolling thunder, echoing through the clouds.

Lan Ruobing jumped in fright, her hair standing on end like an alarmed cat.

‘What the hell!’ she cursed inwardly.

‘It didn’t listen to commands from the start, and now it’s stressing out my poor heart. This is simply too much.’

Unfortunately, the water dragon wouldn’t obey her, so she could only endure its dreadful roar.

‘A disgrace to dragon existence, a disgrace to dragon existence…’

She felt as though she had utterly shamed the entire Divine Dragon clan.
