Mofimod emerged from the room and walked in silence toward the event hall. Along the way, every servant within the lord’s mansion trembled visibly as they encountered him, intimidated by the overwhelming aura that emanated from his very presence.
He deliberately quickened his pace and soon arrived at the venue. Having come early and already familiar with the arrangements for the day’s charity event, he paid little attention to the hall’s decorations.
His gaze, however, immediately locked onto Domu.
He observed that Domu had already parted ways with Mr. Tule, the president of the Bellan Merchant Guild, and Philavman, the acting president of the Mercenary Guild. Now, Domu sat near the reserved table—with Soronna seated beside them.
Mofimod knew that the table had originally been prepared for two demigod-level powerhouses: himself—Mofimod Rigles, the Second Legion Commander of the Norachi Kingdom—and the Silver Reaper, Domu.
Now, however, an additional seat had been placed there.
Soronna occupied that newly added seat, her cheeks resting in her hands as she gazed at Domu with an expression of pure, unguarded bliss.
‘Princess… even if he is a demigod-level powerhouse, he has no right to sit beside you. And for you to show such an expression…’
Mofimod felt a deep sense of dissonance.
In his memory, Princess Soronna had always been exceptionally intelligent from a young age, possessing extraordinary talent. Even he—who had reached the demigod level at the age of thirty—had once felt ashamed when comparing himself to her.
During the time he had served as her tutor, Mofimod had never once seen her display such an expression toward anyone.
He could not understand why Her Majesty the Empress had been so strict with Princess Soronna—so strict that she had even personally ordered her to be sent away.
And yet…
The wisdom of Her Majesty the Empress, one of the greatest strategists of the Norachi Kingdom, was far beyond the comprehension of a military man like him.
Just as a trace of sympathy surfaced within him, his attention was abruptly drawn elsewhere.
He overheard a conversation between two nearby women—minor nobles of Morgan City.
Their crude words, and the insults they directed toward Princess Soronna, caused Mofimod’s eyes to glow faintly with a cold, green light.
Every word—slut, seduction—reached him with perfect clarity.
Mofimod’s gaze shifted.
It locked onto the golden-haired young woman.
Sensing the stare, she turned—and their eyes met.
In that instant, Mofimod’s killing intent surged forth, cold and absolute, shooting straight into her consciousness.
The killing intent of a demigod was not something an ordinary person could endure.
Within a heartbeat, the golden-haired woman experienced terror beyond what her mind could withstand. Her body convulsed, foam forming at her lips, before she collapsed unconscious.
Mofimod did not spare the other woman.
Ignorant or not, they had crossed a line.
‘How laughable,’ Mofimod thought coldly. ‘With Princess Soronna’s status, would she ever need to pursue a man? Even a demigod-level powerhouse is nothing special within the Norachi Kingdom. We have never lacked for strength.’
His gaze shifted back toward Domu.
‘Domu… if I discover that you approached Princess Soronna with ulterior motives—whether you are a legendary mercenary or a demigod who has slain ancient demons—I will personally cut you down.’
‘I swear this to Her Majesty Sorandilis Imdoer—the greatest Empress of the Norachi Kingdom.’
Nearby guests soon noticed the two unconscious women.
Just as panic began to spread, their attention was drawn to the tall figure standing beside them.
At first, they feared a murderer had infiltrated the event.
But upon closer inspection, they recognized the uniform he wore—the exclusive attire of a Legion Commander, symbolizing one of the highest authorities in the Norachi Kingdom.
“Ah… i-it’s… Second Legion Commander Mofimod! Lord Mofimod!” A corpulent man hurriedly stood, his face pale with fear. Bowing deeply without daring to meet Mofimod’s gaze, he stammered, “I wonder… have these two wives of mine… done something to offend you, Lord Mofimod?”
“Insulting royalty. I have shown restraint.”
Mofimod did not even glance at him. His gaze had already drifted back toward Domu, who had turned to observe the commotion.
“H-How… how could this be…?” The man’s legs gave out beneath him. If his household were branded with the crime of insulting royalty, it would mean utter ruin.
“I have already delivered punishment. Do you object?”
Mofimod finally turned his head, looking down at the trembling man kneeling before him. His tone was calm—almost gentle—but his eyes were glacial.
“No! No—I would never dare!” the man cried out, panic overtaking him. “These two wretches—I’ll divorce them immediately! No—right now! I had no knowledge of their actions, Lord Mofimod!”
Mofimod ignored him.
Instead, he began walking toward Domu, a frigid aura radiating from his body.
The temperature in the surrounding space seemed to drop with every step.
Those who had intended to greet him froze in place. Some weaker individuals began trembling uncontrollably, clutching their arms as if to preserve warmth.
Domu watched the tall, fierce-eyed man approach.
At the same time, she checked her interface.
A debuff—[Negative Frost Effect]—had indeed appeared.
Although its impact on her was negligible, Domu couldn’t help but feel slightly annoyed.
‘In a place like this… why do something so unnecessary? It barely affects me, but everyone else is clearly suffering.’
Soronna also saw Mofimod approaching.
While she herself did not feel discomfort from his aura, the “Perfect Reality” effect forced her reactions to align completely with her mental and physical state.
And Soronna had secrets—secrets she could not allow to be exposed.
Mofimod’s presence created a contradiction within her.
Her body trembled ever so slightly as she suppressed it.
Domu noticed immediately.
That small tremor made her frown faintly.
First, he affected the entire crowd.
Now, even Soronna…
A trace of displeasure formed in Domu’s heart.
Without hesitation, she reached out and gently stroked Soronna’s trembling hair, then rose from her seat to face Mofimod.
Seeing Domu stand, Soronna stood as well.
Then, like a young wife seeking protection, she wrapped her arms around Domu’s arm and hid behind them.
“It’s alright, Soronna. Don’t worry. I’m here.”
Domu’s voice softened as she took Soronna’s hand.
A hint of helplessness flickered through her, but her tone remained gentle.
Mofimod’s eyes never left Domu.
From the moment Domu noticed him, to the casual intimacy of stroking Princess Soronna’s hair, to the quiet reassurance, to stepping forward without hesitation—
Every movement had been observed.
‘What a terrifying man…’
Mofimod’s thoughts sharpened.
‘This Domu is absolutely a master in matters of the heart. He must have used some unknown method to deceive the utterly pure Princess Soronna.’
Among the Legion Commanders, there was one infamous for such matters. Though Mofimod cared little for them, he had heard enough stories during their drinking sessions.
And yet—
What Domu had just done…
Was beyond anything he had ever heard.
‘My judgment was not wrong. This man has ulterior motives.’
His gaze remained cold, but his conclusion was absolute.
‘But… I will expose him. I will reveal his true nature before Princess Soronna.’
‘Princess… wait a little longer. I will rescue you from this man.’
For a brief moment, his eyes flicked toward Soronna.
Then they returned to Domu.
At last, the two stood face to face.
Neither spoke.
The entire hall fell into silence.
These two demigod-level beings—pillars of the Norachi Kingdom’s strength—stood opposing one another once more.
No one dared to breathe.
The tension was suffocating.
“You must be the one known as the legendary mercenary, the ‘Silver Reaper,’ Domu?”
Mofimod finally broke the silence.
“I am Mofimod Rigles, the Second Legion Commander of the Norachi Kingdom. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
As he spoke, he extended his right hand—offering a handshake.
