Who is the Stupid Lolita?

Chapter 261,305 words11 min read

Dawn’s Prayer‘s open beta had ignited a fervor, which was now followed by a rare, leisurely weekend.

Lazy sunlight streamed through the window, painting a warm glow across a slender quilt that gently rose and fell with the sleeper’s breath.

“Hoo-ah…”

Chen Zeyu slumbered sweetly, her cheeks a delicate rose, the last vestiges of sleep clinging to her.

She seemed utterly intent on remaining in her dreams until midday.

Knock-knock.

A perfunctory knock echoed, and then the bedroom door swung open.

Evetti strode purposefully into the room.

With a quick glance at the still-slumbering Chen Zeyu, she bent down, her movements swift and merciless, and yanked the quilt away.

The thin quilt vanished, and a sudden chill instantly assailed Chen Zeyu.

Her peaceful slumber was shattered as her body trembled.

Half-asleep, half-awake, she reached out with a small hand, searching.

Her fingers brushed from the wall to the floor, yet she found no trace of her missing quilt.

‘Ugh… fine, I’ll just keep sleeping without it.’

Chen Zeyu, accepting her fate, simply used her hair as a makeshift cover.

She hugged her pillow, curled up on her side facing the wall, transforming into a tiny, silvery ball in the corner of the room.

“Pfft…”

Evetti, holding the quilt, couldn’t help but chuckle.

‘How did Chen Zeyu turn into such an adorable, silver-haired creature?’

Yet, adorable as she was, it was time to wake her.

Evetti folded the quilt neatly and placed it on the table.

Then, lifting the hem of her skirt, she climbed onto Chen Zeyu’s bed.

“Time to wake up…”

“Mmm-hmm…”

“Get up now, you silly loli.”

“I’m not… a silly loli.”

Chen Zeyu truly yearned for more sleep.

She recognized Evetti’s playful teasing, but her body stubbornly refused to stir.

“If you don’t get up now, I’ll tickle you, and there won’t be any reward, you know?”

“Reward…?”

Chen Zeyu turned her head at the mention, reluctantly prying open one eye.

“A reward, indeed! And it’s for your first time,” Evetti said, a hint of playfulness in her tone.

“My first time what?”

Chen Zeyu instinctively clamped her legs together, even though she knew Evetti’s words were meant to be provocative.

“Why, the reward for your first demon hunt, of course!”

“For a witch, this is as crucial as a coming-of-age ceremony for humans.”

“It signifies your ability to face danger alone and protect others.”

“Oh… what exactly is the reward?”

Chen Zeyu sat up slightly, propping herself with her left hand while rubbing her eyes with her right.

“The reward is a magic wand, but since you’re not in the village, we can have a small celebration for now.”

“The main event can wait. What do you want? Anything I can manage.”

Evetti confidently puffed out her chest and patted it, as if she were an adult capable of handling anything.

“Anything at all, as long as you can manage it?”

Chen Zeyu observed Evetti’s expression, then thoughtfully pinched her chin, many ideas bubbling in her mind.

“Uh… what’s with that intensely focused expression?”

Evetti felt a slight unease.

“Kiss me,” Chen Zeyu declared, extending her right hand and flicking her index finger, as if making a momentous decision.

A few seconds of silence stretched between them.

Evetti’s eye twitched slightly, her expression becoming awkward and stiff.

“You… you’re not joking, are you? Something like that… wouldn’t buying an outfit be more practical?”

“You were so confident just now, yet you can’t do it now,” Chen Zeyu said, shaking her head and waving her hand from the bed, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips.

Evetti could hardly tolerate Chen Zeyu’s blatant provocation.

Her face flushed crimson as she immediately retorted, “How could I possibly do something like that! Your request is outrageous!”

“But you woke me up,” Chen Zeyu whined, her voice pitiful.

“You promised you’d do anything! I could have slept more.”

She deliberately lowered her head, her small hands clasped together in a hook, truly looking utterly disappointed.

“You!”

Evetti’s brow furrowed into several ‘well’ symbols, a fiery indignation rising within her.

“What about me?”

Chen Zeyu blinked her long lashes, her red eyes filled with an innocent gaze.

“Hmph! I won’t fall for your tricks!”

Evetti spun around and walked away, leaving Chen Zeyu alone in the room.

“Hehe… time to go back to sleep,” Chen Zeyu chuckled, savoring her victory.

She flopped back down and closed her eyes contentedly.

‘I’m not foolish after all. I’ll just send Evetti away and get some proper sleep.’

‘I don’t want to go out this weekend anyway, and I don’t really want anything.’

Just as Chen Zeyu was thinking this, a rapid series of thumps suddenly echoed.

Thump-thump-thump!

‘Who is it?’

Chen Zeyu’s eyes snapped open, only for a dark shadow to immediately pounce on her.

A warm, wet sensation instantly bloomed on her right cheek.

Evetti had returned, fulfilling Chen Zeyu’s request with lightning speed.

Chen Zeyu’s mind reeled, her face blazing red like a scorching kettle.

“Heh.”

Evetti let out a soft laugh, wiping her mouth with her sleeve, looking as if she had just finished a meal and cleaned up.

“…You actually did it!”

Chen Zeyu covered her cheek, barely able to believe Evetti had dared.

“Silly loli, did you truly think you could get the better of me?”

“I don’t feel like I lost anything, but your face, on the other hand, can’t handle it.”

Evetti said, poking Chen Zeyu with a finger, directly hitting her weak spot.

“You… you ambushed me!”

Chen Zeyu couldn’t hide the shyness in her eyes.

It was a kiss from another girl!

It was supposed to be a joke, a playful wish!

But it had become real!

“Hehe, you truly are a bit foolish, aren’t you?”

“Did you think I wouldn’t make a small sacrifice?”

“Damn it…”

Chen Zeyu clenched her fists.

In this morning’s skirmish, she had lost.

“Alright, let’s get to business.”

“I almost forgot that the seniors need you to go to the company.”

“Hurry up and eat your breakfast.”

Evetti pulled out a magic wand, waved it a few times, and a plate of sandwiches appeared in the room.

“Go to the company? Why?”

Chen Zeyu took a sandwich, immediately biting into it to appease her hunger.

“Because you’re essentially Dawn’s Prayer‘s publicity representative.”

“Most new players are flocking in because of you.”

“It’s a perfect opportunity to do some public promotion, elevate the hype, and help the company establish itself.”

“Uh… can I refuse?”

Chen Zeyu looked at the half-eaten sandwich in her hand.

She didn’t want to be exposed.

“No, you can’t.”

“You’re always eating and drinking our resources; at least make some practical contributions.”

“Consider it repaying the debt for this apartment. You’ll star in the promotion to pay it back,” Evetti stated her intentions plainly.

“Ah… but, you’re employing child labor,” Chen Zeyu muttered in protest.

“Child labor? You’re already sixteen years old,” Evetti said, reaching out to poke Chen Zeyu’s nose.

“How am I not? I won’t do it, I won’t!”

Chen Zeyu stuffed the rest of the sandwich into her mouth, then unceremoniously threw a tantrum, rolling around on the bed.

“Your mind seems to be finally catching up to your body, I see.”

“Well, it’s fine.”

“If you don’t want to know about your past, you don’t have to go, of course.”

“Senior Lammiell has already found some clues, after all.”

Evetti crossed her arms, presenting a condition that was clearly important to Chen Zeyu.

‘Tsk… so that trick won’t work…’

Chen Zeyu stopped rolling, sighed deeply, and then decided to get out of bed.

“So, what do you say, you silly loli Chen Zeyu?”

Evetti cast a triumphant gaze.

“Stop giving me strange nicknames. Fine, I accept,” Chen Zeyu said, pressing her lips together and nodding in agreement.
