“Do you have something in mind, young lad?”
Hadi asked, seeing that Ye Qing looked like he had already determined something.
“Yeah. I found a location with a high probability!”
Ye Qing said as he pressed the circle labeled Number 2, which was the closest to the industrial area.
“The rest is up to Sister Fuzi to confirm.”
The communication connected quickly.
Fuzi’s urgent voice came through the speaker: “How is it? Did you find Chenlian?”
Her anxious feelings came through as well.
“No. Sister Fuzi, please listen calmly first,”
Ye Qing said, trying to calm the anxious “mother”—otherwise, her excessive worry would make conversation difficult.
He could hear Fuzi take a deep breath on the other end.
Then, in a calmer tone, she asked Ye Qing, “Ye Qing, do you have a lead?”
“Yes. But I can’t be sure Chenlian is there,”
Ye Qing answered, lacking a bit of confidence.
“Fine. Either way, let’s hear it first!”
Fuzi suppressed her anxiety and sought Ye Qing’s opinion.
She also knew that searching aimlessly was inefficient.
It was better to hear Ye Qing’s thoughts, and from the sound of his voice, it seemed he had already found a fairly clear lead.
“Then, Sister Fuzi, do exactly as I say. I’ll guide you to that place,”
Ye Qing said in a somewhat businesslike tone.
“Okay! Got it!”
Fuzi agreed quickly.
By then, Hadi had also pulled the car over to the roadside, waiting for further confirmation from Fuzi.
Ye Qing examined the map and mentally drew a simple route connecting the circle labeled Number 2 to the abandoned building via the roads.
“Sister Fuzi, go straight ahead now…”
But as soon as he spoke, he saw the circle moving in the opposite direction from what he had expected.
Ye Qing immediately stopped her.
“No! Sister Fuzi, turn around now. You’re going the wrong way!”
Not having directional arrows on the circles was a drawback…
“Now keep going straight. I’ll tell you when you reach the turn…
Now turn left. Keep going…”
Ye Qing watched the map and guided Fuzi toward the industrial area along the route in his mind.
“Okay, Sister Fuzi, stop at the next corner.”
The circle obediently stopped at the corner.
“Sister Fuzi, now look about 30 degrees to the left from the corner… Can you see a dilapidated building? With stairs on the right?”
“Mm… I can see it…”
After a moment, Fuzi confirmed.
“That building’s front gate is open, right?”
Ye Qing continued asking to confirm.
“Mm. The gate is open…”
“Then that’s it! That’s the place!”
Ye Qing said, slightly excited. The rest was just confirmation…
Hearing the excited voice through the communication watch, Fuzi began to examine the dilapidated building.
It was indeed a very quiet, uninhabited place—perfect as a hiding spot.
But [Is she really here?]
That doubt was soon resolved.
Fuzi’s gaze, which had unintentionally swept toward the rooftop, caught sight of pink long hair glistening faintly under the moonlight, and a small body curled up like a little animal.
“I found her! Chenlian is on the rooftop of that building!”
She reported excitedly into the communicator as she started sprinting, completely forgetting about her motorcycle.
“Great! My guess was right, Doctor! Let’s turn around!”
Ye Qing said, equally excited.
“You don’t have to tell me. I was going to do that anyway, young lad,”
Hadi immediately started the car, turned around, and sped off.
[Now all that’s left is Yuxuan.]
Thinking this, Ye Qing zoomed out the map and pressed the circle labeled Number 1…

“Ahh… I’m exhausted today,”
A young man with a flashy, punk hairstyle said lazily, yawning theatrically.
“Exhausted my ass! You dumped all the day’s work on the new guy and just played the big boss giving orders,”
A shorter guy with wine-red dyed hair sneered.
“What!? You guys are terrible! Hazing the new guy like that!”
Another young man with an ordinary appearance, his left eye hidden behind long hair, laughed along.
“I’m the one who got the short end of the stick. I don’t have any newbie to boss around. I only got half my work done today!”
The three young men, all wearing identical gray work uniforms, bickered and laughed darkly as they climbed the stairs.
“You should’ve seen that new guy’s face—it was, hahahaha—”
The punk-haired young man laughed so hard he clutched his stomach, tears streaming from his eyes.
Then, as if out of breath, he wheezed, “Ouch, I can’t… dying of laughter…”
By then, they had reached the rooftop via the stairs.
The long-haired young man pulled a deck of cards from his pocket.
“So? Wanna gamble again tonight?”
He revealed a sly smile. The money he had won yesterday was still having a “positive effect.”
“Tch! That little bit you won yesterday? I’ll win it back tenfold today, you watch!”
The punk-haired young man scoffed.
“Come on! Tonight we bet big!”
The short guy pounded his chest, pretending to be heroic, but was actually just sore about losing the previous day’s bets.
Each of the three young men had their own thoughts as they stepped onto the rooftop floor.
The noisy atmosphere suddenly fell silent.
Because their usual exclusive spot had an uninvited guest—and it was a girl.
Their eyes were drawn to the girl’s pink long hair.
The naturally pink hair hit their vision with a gorgeous impact, mesmerizing them for a moment.
The long-haired young man was the first to come to his senses and signaled to his two companions.
The other two snapped out of it as well and nodded knowingly.
Then, all three revealed sinister expressions.

Her body and mind were exhausted.
Her body felt as heavy as if encased in thick ice.
She no longer had the will to move even a finger.
She let the cold wind blow over her.
She let the fatigue erode her spirit.
She let her consciousness sink into the dark abyss.
[If only it could end like this… how nice that would be.]
Chenlian crouched on the ground, her body stiff.
For a moment, the thought of resting here forever crossed her mind…
[Maybe that’s for the best… After all, I have nothing.
Everyone around me is a stranger. From start to finish, I don’t even know where I am…
I don’t even know who I am…]
Chenlian’s consciousness grew even colder…
Just then, her current name surfaced in her mind.
[Yue Chenlian. Fuzi gave me this name.
I don’t know what it means, but I like it. I’m happy about it…]
Fuzi’s gentle smiling face appeared…
[Someone was able to give me—someone who had nothing—a name.
Hadi seemed to think it was a good name too…
And Lin Yuxuan, who always smiled and treated me kindly…
And Ye Qing, who seemed a bit silly.
There’s a familiar warmth about the two of them…]
Somewhere in her body, she felt a faint warmth…
[But… why are today’s memories so clear?
Where have all the other memories gone?
Why is everyone so good to me, a complete stranger?
Is it because I…]
Her train of thought broke off.
Her mind returned to the beginning again.
[Who am I? Where is this? What am I doing? Waiting to die?
Because I’ll turn into a non-human and die soon?]
Her heart plummeted deep into the valley again.
[No!… Enough! Enough! Enough!]
Chenlian screamed hysterically in her heart.
Her cold body began to tremble uncontrollably.
“Hey! The little girl is trembling!”
A stranger’s malicious, excited voice came from behind.
“Want big brother to warm you up? With a hug?”
Another man laughed and teased, and the others joined in with lewd chuckles.
[So noisy.]
“Hey! I’m talking to you, girl!”
[So noisy.]
“Ooh! Trembling so much. What’s the matter? Getting turned on?”
The young men grew bolder, their expressions shifting from sinister to lecherous…
The punk-haired young man grabbed Chenlian’s pink hair and forcibly tried to drag her up.
Chenlian winced in pain and could only be lifted by her hair.
Her face showed a pained expression.
She gritted her teeth.
Her purple pupils blazed with intense, furious light.
The punk-haired young man who had lifted her was momentarily stunned by that gaze.
He flinched and took a step back, involuntarily letting go of Chenlian’s hair.
Chenlian collapsed limply to the ground.
Recovering himself, the punk-haired man was instantly enraged.
“What’s with that look!?”
He stepped forward, pressing his left side onto Chenlian’s small, collapsed body, supporting himself with his right leg.
He reached out and lifted Chenlian’s lowered head.
“You trying to fight back, girl?”
A low, threatening voice.
The young man’s face twisted into an even more sinister expression.
Then his hand began to wander restlessly over Chenlian’s body…
“Hehehe… Do her, Big Bro!”
The other two shouted even more obscenely, their lecherous eyes eagerly anticipating the show…
Encouraged by the cheers behind him, the punk-haired man forcibly ripped open Chenlian’s clothes…
Chenlian began to struggle desperately.
But her strength was too weak to make any difference.
Her body was pinned down, unable to break free.
Chenlian finally understood her own helplessness.
Overwhelming rage instantly transformed into nameless fear that crawled all over her body.
Her body stiffened.
Feeling the stimulation on her body, wave after wave,
Chenlian’s spirit was gradually destroyed.
Her eyes, now empty, slowly closed.
Tears poured from her eyes like a spring, unstoppable.
Her already disheartened heart was now approaching the deepest part of the abyss.
If this continued, perhaps it would be beyond salvation…
Just as the young man was getting more brazen—
“Stop right there!”
A furious shout rang through the night sky.
Fuzi, panting, glared at the three young men with eyes as cold as ice, filled with anger at what they were doing to Chenlian.
