Chapter 5: A Game of Fear and Bonds

Yoon Bora left, saying she had to train.

With nothing else to do, I sat on the couch and looked around.

‘Is this really a place where people live?’

Why is there a chandelier in someone’s home?

And why is the ceiling so high?

It was all beyond my understanding.

My bathroom light doesn’t even work properly, and yet here I was, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the lavish lifestyle of modern-day aristocrats. Nervously, I rubbed my thighs.

“Harang, just make yourself comfortable, okay?”

“…Yes.”

Raxy Bora, Yoon Bora’s twin sister.

She was sitting next to me, smiling cheerfully.

“Harang, do you want to play with me?”

“…Well, sure.”

Play with her, huh? She clearly heard I was older, but still called herself “unnie” anyway.

Sigh.

The struggle of being the low man on the totem pole—having to entertain even the family of your superior.

If I didn’t keep her happy, I’d probably be kicked out without mercy.

‘Just endure for a month, just a month.’

Fifteen thousand won wasn’t small change.

For that amount, I could put up with being her personal slave. At least for a month.

“So, what should we play?”

“Anything’s fine.”

“Then, how about a game with unnie?”

“Sure, let’s do it.”

A game, huh?

It didn’t seem like a bad choice.

Playing a game could help close the distance between us.

Plus, it would keep my mind off other things.

‘But what kind of game does she have in mind?’

I imagined something like an old-fashioned board game.

The kind where we sit across from each other and build camaraderie.

“Ta-da!”

“Huh?”

But what she brought out was, surprisingly, the latest game controller.

“Here.”

She handed me the controller.

Feeling slightly awkward, I took it from her.

‘This wasn’t what I was expecting.’

It didn’t quite match Raxy Bora’s image.

Not that judging by appearances was a good thing.

‘Now that I think about it, it’s been a while since I last played a game.’

I wiggled my fingers over the buttons as I stared at the massive TV screen in front of me.

It was bigger than any display I’d ever seen, even at electronics stores.

While I was marveling at its size, Raxy Bora sat down next to me.

“Harang, do you want to sit on unnie’s lap?”

Why, though?

I felt a bit confused, but I nodded anyway.

“…Okay.”

Maybe she intended to use me as a replacement for a doll.

Even without the weird ears and tail, my body was just perfect for hugging at the moment—small and squishy, like a cushion.

“Up you go.”

She reached out and scooped me up.

Like a lightweight doll, I was moved effortlessly into her lap, or rather, onto her firm thighs.

‘This feels… dangerous.’

If I leaned back even slightly, disaster would strike.

Raxy Bora’s massive chest was right behind me.

So, I had no choice but to keep my back straight.

“Harang, relax, make yourself comfortable.”

But Raxy Bora didn’t seem to care about my predicament.

She wrapped her arms tightly around my waist, hugging me close.

‘Ugh!’

Immediately, I felt the soft, overwhelming pressure against my back.

Since Raxy Bora was only wearing a thin crop top, the sensation was painfully vivid.

‘W-What do I do…!’

It felt like I was secretly harassing her, making me feel a deep sense of guilt.

I wiggled, trying to free myself, but there was no way I could overcome her strength.

Both sisters were monsters—what kind of family was this?

“Hm, what should we play?”

Oblivious to my struggles, Raxy Bora was busy choosing a game.

“Hm… maybe this one?”

The game she picked had a grotesque monster on the cover—a horror game.

“Harang, this one’s a bit scary. Are you okay with that?”

“No problem. I’m not the type to get scared.”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

Raxy Bora gave me a slightly doubtful look.

“Well, it’s rated for all ages.”

“Wait, what?”

Rated for all ages? That didn’t seem right.

This was clearly a game restricted for older players.

As I silently protested, the screen suddenly turned dark, and the game’s title flared up in red.

Boom!

At the same time, an ear-splitting background noise blared through the speakers.

My heart was already racing.

If anything popped out of that massive screen, I was sure I’d faint instantly.

‘At least they’ll have to treat it as a workplace injury if I die here.’

With tears in my eyes, I gripped the controller tightly, pressing myself closer to Raxy Bora.

It was embarrassing as a man, but I had to take advantage of anything I could—even using her body as a shield.

Kyahhh!

“…!”

A zombie suddenly lunged at me from the screen.

Technically, the zombie lunged at my character, not me.

Startled, I tightly shut my eyes.

-Bang! Bang!

-Kieeeek!

A series of gunshots echoed, followed by the wails of zombies.

It was a sign that Raxy Bora had taken care of them.

“They’re all down.”

‘Already?’

I cautiously opened my eyes.

The sight that greeted me was nothing short of shocking.

The floor was littered with zombie corpses, taking up half the screen, while my character’s health hadn’t dropped at all.

‘She took them all down by herself? While protecting me?’

I clearly saw her pick the highest difficulty level.

Her skill was beyond belief.

Of course, I wasn’t bad at games either.

If only it hadn’t been a horror game, I could’ve shown her my skills.

It was a bit disappointing.

‘Why did it have to be a horror game?’

All I could do was trail behind Raxy Bora like a little puppy.

Sometimes, I shot at distant enemies, but most of the time, I missed completely.

Just looking at those disgusting creatures was tough enough.

“Harang, grab those supplies.”

“Oh, okay.”

“And you can talk casually with me, you know.”

Wait, what?

I tilted my head up and looked at Raxy Bora.

She looked down at me with a playful smile.

‘Is she serious? Is she really okay with that?’

Even though I was in no position to refuse, there was no way I could casually speak to the homeowner like that. It was impossible.

“…I’ll think about it.”

“Hey.”

Testing the waters, I said it lightly, but she quickly scolded me in a firm tone.

At this point, I had no choice but to give in.

“Uh… Bora.”

“Bora unnie.”

…She sure had a lot of demands.

Setting aside gender, I was older than her.

Feeling a surge of rebellion, I bit my lip and stayed quiet.

I turned back to the screen, moving my character around aimlessly.

A few seconds passed, and Raxy Bora’s character stopped moving.

‘Did I push it too far…?’

Nervously, I tilted my head back to check on her.

She was looking down at me, smirking.

It didn’t seem like she was mad, though.

I had no idea why she was smiling.

‘…Still, I can’t call her unnie.’

I had some pride left as a man.

Even if it killed me, I’d never call her that.

Resolving to keep my pride intact, I turned my attention back to the screen.

-Kraaaah!

“Ahhh!”

A zombie jumped out suddenly, making me shudder in fear.

Raxy Bora chuckled softly at my reaction.

“Scared? Want to play something else?”

“…What are you talking about? I’m not scared at all.”

“Well, that’s good because the scary part hasn’t even started yet.”

“Really…?”

“Yeah, we’ve only just finished the tutorial.”

The tutorial is over?

After all that I went through?

‘…That can’t be right.’

I was certain Raxy Bora was teasing me.

There was no way anything scarier could come after this.

‘Even if there is, it’s just a game.’

There’s a limit to how much fear a fictional creation can induce.

As long as those game monsters didn’t leap out into the real world.

I gripped the controller tightly.

I had to protect my last shred of pride as a man.

Meanwhile, in the underground training room.

“Hoo…”

Yoon Bora wiped the sweat from her brow with a towel.

She thought about the guest who had come to visit their home.

‘I’m sure Raxy is handling things well.’

Though it didn’t sit well with her that Raxy had Harang all to herself, there was no helping it this time.

Raxy Bora was a woman with an exceptional talent for dealing with people’s emotions.

Even Jinhyang acknowledged that talent.

And Raxy had made it clear that she wanted to turn Harang into her “little brother.”

Since their interests aligned, Yoon Bora had no choice but to trust her for now.

‘Though I’ll need to make sure she doesn’t cross any lines.’

Brainwashing or personality modification—those were insane things Yoon Bora would never allow.

What Yoon Bora wanted was simple: for Harang to call her “unnie.”

“Hehe.”

How wonderful would that be?

As Yoon Bora smiled at the thought, a voice called out.

“Bora!”

“Huh?”

Raxy Bora was waving from a distance as she approached.

‘Is

it already dinner time?’

Since Yoon Bora didn’t keep a clock in the training room, she often lost track of time.

She could only guess based on Raxy’s visits.

Grateful for her twin’s timely arrival, Yoon Bora waved back—until she noticed something odd.

Someone was cradled in Raxy Bora’s arms.

‘Is that…?’

A small-framed girl.

It was Harang.

‘When did they get so close…?’

Harang was nestled into Raxy Bora’s arms like a baby.

Her face had gone pale, trembling like a frightened puppy.

‘What did Raxy do to her?’

Though Yoon Bora didn’t know the details, she was certain her twin hadn’t crossed any lines.

“I’m sorry. Was it too scary for you?”

Raxy Bora gently rocked Harang up and down, comforting her like a child.

Though jealousy briefly surged in Yoon Bora’s heart, the tender scene forced her to hold it in.

“Here, take her.”

“…!”

Raxy Bora handed Harang over with the kindness of a caring sibling, and Yoon Bora decided to let it go for now.
