When They Touched His Nephew, the Villain Finally Snapped

Chapter 22 • 1,534 words • 13 min read

Five days after its launch, the soothing app had already been downloaded
billions of times.

Of course, some people didn’t have mental energy rage disorder. They downloaded
the app purely for its mental energy threshold monitoring function.

And without a confirmed diagnosis, they couldn’t pay to listen to soothing songs
like The Great Compassion Mantra.

But even so, with such a massive number of downloads, the names Mo Li and Xixi
gradually spread across the entire interstellar.

Misled by the Mermaid Association, 98% of people believed that Mo Li was a
powerful mermaid.

His proactive withdrawal from the competition and his decision to teach Xixi how
to enhance his soothing special ability had convinced everyone that Mo Li was a
mermaid king, so of course he would care for his subject, Xixi.

A solitary mermaid king.

Even now, the Mermaid Association was still searching for him. It wouldn’t be an
exaggeration to say they had cast a net that covered the entire sky.

Yet, despite countless people searching the sanatorium planet over and over,
none had found Mo Li.

Either Mo Li wasn’t on the sanatorium planet, and the numerous hackers couldn’t
crack his true address. Or there was only one possibility left—

He was in the Crown Prince’s estate.

Only the Crown Prince’s estate was a place no one had searched. And it was next
door to the Mo family, matching the address the hackers had found.

But although the Crown Prince had been exiled here to recuperate, he was still
Wen Zhaoyan. His father was the Empire’s Emperor, and his maternal grandfather,
though recently retired, was the old Marshal who still had many supporters in
the military. Even if they wanted to reach into Wen Zhaoyan’s estate, they
couldn’t.

Unable to find Mo Li, this ‘mermaid king,’ the Mermaid Association was naturally
very anxious.

When they learned that the only suspected location was at Wen Zhaoyan’s estate,
the Mermaid Association took action.

The Mermaid Association president first approached the Empire’s Emperor.

“Your Majesty, the mermaid king is extremely important. His abilities are
incomparable to ordinary mermaids. If we can find this mermaid king, he can
elevate the soothing abilities of all the mermaids in the nation. This would
bring nothing but benefits to our Empire! Moreover, such a precious mermaid king
has remained outside the Empire’s protection. Other civilizations have likely
already learned of his existence and will surely make preparations. If they get
to him first, it would be our Empire’s greatest loss!”

The Mermaid Association had always held a position in the Empire that was second
only to the emperor.

They appeared not to be involved in the political system, independent from the
court. Yet they held the lifeblood of every political figure.

Therefore, even the Empire’s Emperor sometimes couldn’t ignore their
suggestions.

But although the Emperor had left the Crown Prince to drift on the sanatorium
planet, he had a legitimate excuse. When Wen Zhaoyan’s mental energy had
erupted, because his mental energy was so powerful, the mental storm had
destroyed nearly half the imperial palace and injured many people. The situation
was so severe that it gave the Emperor an excuse to send him to the sanatorium
planet.

Otherwise, with the military achievements Wen Zhaoyan had accumulated at such a
young age and the support of his grandfather, the old Marshal, the Emperor
really couldn’t have done so.

After sending Wen Zhaoyan to the sanatorium planet, the Emperor himself still
had to make appearances often, to convince people that he treated all his sons
equally. Now, if he allowed the Mermaid Association to bring people to search
the estate, wouldn’t that be sending people to bully the Crown Prince?

The Emperor shook his head. “No need. No mermaid has ever been willing to get
close to Zhaoyan. There’s no way a mermaid king would be hiding there.”

The Mermaid Association president immediately produced a piece of evidence. “But
Your Majesty, this is Xixi’s recent activity trajectory. For the past two and a
half months, Xixi has been frequently coming and going from the Crown Prince’s
estate. And Xixi’s soothing special ability only improved during these two
months.”

The Emperor waved his hand dismissively. “I heard recently that Zhaoyan’s
consciousness sea had worsened. The old Marshal was worried and had Kai bring
Xixi over to try to soothe him. Isn’t that normal?”

The Mermaid Association president was silent for a moment, then spoke again.
“Your Majesty, the soothing app that launched a few days ago—wasn’t it designed
by His Highness the Crown Prince? That technology is mature and powerful. It was
requisitioned by our government as soon as it launched. Now, it has been
downloaded billions of times, and the profits are terrifying. But have you
considered this: from the removal of Mo Li’s The Great Compassion Mantra to the
launch of the app was only a few days. If His Highness the Crown Prince’s mental
state wasn’t good, how could he have designed such a mature and powerful
technology in such a short time?”

Someone in a poor mental state, especially in Wen Zhaoyan’s condition, could
barely eat or sleep until their physical genes and mind collapse together.

“Unless someone has cured His Highness the Crown Prince, stabilizing his mental
condition so he can focus on other things. But no mermaid registered in the
Empire is willing to get close to His Highness the Crown Prince.”

This was why the Mermaid Association president suspected that the mermaid king,
Mo Li, was at the Crown Prince’s estate.

That mermaid king was truly too special.

No matter what, he couldn’t be allowed to remain outside.

Now it was the Empire’s Emperor’s turn to be silent.

Seeing him hesitate, the Mermaid Association president added, “Your Majesty, the
mermaid king is incredibly powerful. Not only should we have him help improve
the other mermaids’ abilities, but he should also treat and soothe you
personally. After all, you are the most honored person in the Empire.”

The Emperor was finally persuaded. “Then go. Make sure to bring that mermaid
king back.”

After leaving the palace, the Mermaid Association president immediately
contacted the Third Prince, who was still on the sanatorium planet.

Even with the Empire’s Emperor’s permission, searching Wen Zhaoyan’s estate
still required some preparation, lest they incur the resentment of the old
Marshal’s subordinates. Therefore, it was better to let the Third Prince take
the lead. He would likely be very willing.

The Third Prince, Wen Zhaoqi, was indeed very willing. He had been looking for
an excuse. Upon learning that the Emperor had given his permission, he
immediately brought his men and rushed to the estate.

Furthermore, he planned to bring the Mo family into it as well.

As luck would have it, Mo Xiangtian was at work, and Mrs. Mo had gone back to
the Li family to tell them that Li Chaoci’s whereabouts had been found.

Mrs. Mo had originally intended to take Mo Bai, but Xixi had said online last
night that he was coming to the Mo family.

Snuggle a mermaid he virtually kept, or go meet a relative he’d never met?

Mo Bai naturally chose the former.

So when the Third Prince and his guards barged in, Mo Bai was aimlessly stacking
blocks.

Two of the Mo family’s guards had been injured. The remaining three were
protecting Mo Bai, watching the Third Prince and his men warily. “Your Highness
the Third Prince, what are you doing? Breaking and entering a private
residence—we have the right to sue you!”

Wen Zhaoqi sneered. “The Empire suspects that your Mo family is hiding an
unregistered wild mermaid. We are conducting a legal search. You do know that
privately keeping a mermaid is against the law, don’t you?”

With that, he ordered some of his men to search the Mo family villa and directed
two guards, “Go grab that little idiot.”

The guards quickly tossed Mo Bai to another guard. “Take the young master and
go!”

They could see that the Third Prince was just using this as an excuse for
revenge.

One of the guards scooped up little Mo Bai and prepared to run. Meanwhile, the
guard who had been injured outside managed to call Li Chaoci.

The guards always reported in at night. They rarely called during the day unless
something had happened.

Li Chaoci answered immediately.

The guard quickly reported the situation. “Sir, the Empire’s Third Prince has
brought people into the Mo family villa. He intends to harm the young master!
A-Hui has already been injured.”

Li Chaoci’s fox eyes narrowed, his voice turning icy cold. “Deploy the mecha.”

The guard hesitated. “Then… will our identities be exposed?”

Li Chaoci said coldly, “It doesn’t matter. I’ll reach the port in an hour.
Remember to bring the little brat there.”

On his way here, he had been worrying about how to meet the little brat in a way
that would make him believe that he was his real uncle.

Now, there was no time to think about that.

Let the little brat see with his own eyes how his little uncle would descend
like a heavenly god and snatch him back from the bad guys!
