The sudden appearance of black clouds, coupled with a protective barrier cast from an unknown source, left both the Redfang Fortress Lord and the Bishop incredibly tense.
The Redfang Fortress Lord, like a furious ram, rose to his feet and pointed at me. “You scoundrel! What madwoman dares to disturb this execution ground? Beat her out of here with sticks!”
Two soldiers hesitated; after all, I appeared to be merely a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl. However, two other soldiers with visibly fiercer countenances snatched up their rifle butts, shoved their comrades aside, and strode towards me. Their eyes gleamed with the cruel satisfaction unique to those who delight in tormenting delicate, weaker beings.
‘Hmph! You’re courting death.’
I extended a slender finger, pointing at the two soldiers. “Kleizern’s Vampire Touch.”
Black thorns, wreathed in crimson lightning, instantly shot towards the two soldiers. In a flash, a dark burst erupted with a tearing sound, blasting the two soldiers away. They were no elite Temple Knights under my senior sister’s command; they were instantly blown to smithereens!
“What?!” The Bishop, a man of considerable experience, gaped in astonishment. “A-a Grand Magic! Even more profound than the legendary Tier 3 magic! This—this girl is a witch! And a terrifying one at that! Far more dangerous than Asta! Kill her! Kill her immediately before she can cast another spell!”
“What? More powerful than Tier 3 magic? Kill her for me! Kill her!” The Redfang Fortress Lord was equally terrified.
Upon hearing I was an even more dangerous witch, the soldiers immediately drew their swords and spears, charging at me.
“Coolie, Lady Coolie! Be careful!” Leona cried out. However, she and Asta were inside the protective barrier; though safe, they were unable to assist me.
Of course, I had no need of their help. I paid no mind to the charging, murderous soldiers, instead walking leisurely towards the Archbishop and the Redfang Fortress Lord, facing their onslaught.
“Kill her! Do not be deceived by her appearance! She is a witch more terrifying than the legendary Tier 3 mages!”
Four soldiers, fanning out from the front, gripped their long spears and thrust them at me almost simultaneously.
Yet, I continued to walk forward as if I saw nothing.
Just as the spear tips were mere inches from my eyes.
“Clang—!”
A crescent-shaped, bright silver light flashed, simultaneously severing all four long spears!
Faein, the stunning and agile black-haired Sword Princess, my senior sister, had positioned herself in front of me.
Four spearheads spun high into the air, falling onto the distant ground.
The four soldiers, left holding only half-spear shafts, stood dumbfounded, unable to comprehend what had just transpired. But the tall, exquisitely beautiful Sword Princess, radiating a sharp, dark aura, who now stood before me, instilled fear in their hearts, preventing them from approaching.
“Fire! Fire the arrows!” the Redfang Fortress Lord commanded!
Several archers, standing further back, drew their longbows and, without a hint of pity for the two girls, let loose a volley of arrows—*whoosh! whoosh! whoosh!*—sending several shafts flying.
Heavenly Glow Kiori’s starry eyes flashed, and she transformed into a black afterimage before me!
“Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!”
The black afterimage darted left and right, moving so swiftly that it seemed as if four or five of my senior sister appeared at once. She brandished her gleaming sword light, deflecting every single arrow.
Afterward, Faein flashed back to my front, twirling her longsword before swiftly sheathing it. She stood gracefully, her ample bosom still swaying slightly.
“What?! This…” The Redfang Fortress Lord was dumbfounded. “This—who is this tall, black-haired female swordswoman?”
“Who cares! Brothers, attack together! Cut down these two women!” The mustachioed warrior, clearly seasoned in battle, showed a decisive and ruthless killing intent in his eyes. He drew his military saber and, leading a dozen soldiers, surrounded us. “Kill!”
The soldiers attacked simultaneously.
I shook my head with a touch of helplessness. “Faein, Senior Sister, I’ll leave this to you!”
“Mm!” Faein nodded silently.
Faein raised her crystal sword, casting a golden protective barrier on me, then transformed into a black afterimage once more, charging towards the mustachioed warrior.
The mustachioed warrior swung his saber at the charging Faein, but before his blade could travel halfway, Faein’s longsword had already pierced through his chest, armor and all.
“Ah… *cough*, *cough*…” The mustachioed warrior could no longer speak. His battle-hardened eyes now displayed only terror and indignation.
Several soldiers rushed before me, hacking and thrusting at the golden barrier. In just a few strikes, their blades and spears shattered, yet the golden barrier remained completely unblemished.
“This—this swordswoman is a High Paladin!?” The Bishop was dumbfounded. “Then, just how high-level is that barrier? I—I’ve never seen anything like it!”
Faein, on her side, resolved all the soldiers with a few quick thrusts. She disdained killing these weaker foes, merely severing their limbs to incapacitate them. Her swordsmanship was incredibly precise; if she did not wish to kill someone, even ten stabs would not be fatal.
“What…” Asta and Leona watched in a daze. “Just how strong are Lady Coolie and her Sword Princess guard? In the blink of an eye, they defeated that terrifying warrior and an entire squad of soldiers!”
The Redfang Fortress Lord grew anxious. He turned to the massive black-armored knight who had stood behind him all this time. “Sir Ba-Balrog…”
The enormous black-armored warrior nodded, taking heavy, deliberate strides towards Faein. His thick armor creaked with friction.
“Lady Coolie! Sister Sword Princess, be careful! That—that’s the Great Knight Balrog!” This time, Leona was truly panicked. No matter how strong the black-haired Sword Princess sister was, she couldn’t possibly be a match for Great Knight Balrog!
Balrog drew an impossibly thick and long steel sword from his waist—a two-handed sword, yet Sir Balrog wielded it effortlessly with a single hand. Not only was he tall and powerful, but his sword-wielding movements were also incredibly agile!
Faein gripped her slender crystal sword tightly, watching Balrog with vigilance.
Balrog’s determined walk gradually turned into a run. He let out a roar, charging at Faein like a black iron mountain!
Balrog twisted his wrist, bringing the massive steel sword down in a heavy, cleaving strike!
“Clang—!” Blades collided, sending sparks flying. Faein slid backward, pushed by the force. In a pure contest of strength, Faein was no match for this colossal knight!
Despite his size, Balrog was not lacking in agility. He pursued Faein with long strides, pressing his advantage with continuous, fierce slashes. My senior sister either dodged or parried with her sword, facing a scene of breathtaking intensity against such powerful and relentless attacks.
I wasn’t entirely aware of my senior sister’s full capabilities and felt a pang of worry. I extended my hand and began to chant a spell.
The Redfang Fortress Lord couldn’t help but grin widely at the sight. “Witch, there’s no need to waste your magic! Hahahahaha! Great Knight Balrog is a true powerhouse, ranked among the top hundred in the Empire! His Black Cuirass is a family heirloom treasure! Magic below Tier 4 cannot even scratch his armor! Hahahahaha! Hahahahaha!”
Just then, Faein’s and Balrog’s blades clashed, and Balrog forcefully pressed his greatsword down upon Faein!
“Hum—!”
A bolt of purple lightning shot from my fingertip, twisting the surrounding air as it flew towards Balrog.
“Futile! Didn’t I just say magic wouldn’t work on Sir Balrog…”
The purple lightning struck the side of Balrog’s massive armor.
“Boom—!!!” A dazzling electrical explosion, bright enough to blind an ordinary person, shook the surrounding earth, unleashing waves of air that knocked down everyone within a hundred-meter radius except Faein. The enormous Sir Balrog was blasted backward, crashing heavily into a house dozens of meters away, completely demolishing the entire structure!
Sir Balrog lay amidst the ruins, his armor shattered, his body scorched black and smoking. His eyes rolled back, and he never rose again.
“What—!!!???”
Both the Bishop and the Redfang Fortress Lord were so terrified their mouths hung open.
I gently blew on my fingertip, stating nonchalantly, “If Tier 4 magic is ineffective, then let’s try Tier 5 magic: Pulsating Purple Lightning!”
Suddenly, the Bishop realized something, cold sweat beading on his forehead, his expression contorted with terror, his body trembling convulsively. “This—this girl, could she truly, truly be…”
