Join the ServerThe insidious erosion of habit, silent and relentless, gnawed away at even the most formidable defenses with each passing day.
To her horror, Lan Yucheng found her body and senses, preempting her conscious will, beginning to surrender to Su Yiyi.
She had grown accustomed to instinctively seeking the warm contours of Su Yiyi beside her in the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness each morning. Su Yiyi’s embraces, once met with initial rigidity, now felt like a natural, muscle-memory fit.
She was accustomed to the perfectly temperate water on her nightstand before bed, and to the faint, ethereal scent of gardenias that clung to Su Yiyi and permeated the air. What once seemed a light fragrance now felt deeply ingrained, its absence in unfamiliar surroundings stirring a subtle anxiety within her.
Most terrifying of all, however, was the profound emptiness that descended upon her apartment when Su Yiyi was late returning from overtime. This space, once solely hers, filled with cold calculations and a sense of superiority, now felt so desolate, so… forlorn.
Silence was no longer a luxury but an oppressive absence. She would sit on the sofa, the clamor of the television playing, yet the sound seemed to reach her through a thick pane of glass, unable to penetrate her core. Her ears would involuntarily prick up, catching every potential footstep in the hallway, her heart undergoing a minute tremor as those footsteps approached, then receded.
This unfamiliar emotion, akin to ‘waiting,’ filled her with a nearly shameful vulnerability. Could she truly be starting to depend on another person to fill her space, to define her ‘normalcy’?
This sense of reliance, like tiny tendrils, silently entwined around her heart, bringing with it a suffocating dread.
To resist, to prove she still held control, she would arm herself with amplified coldness and distance when Su Yiyi finally opened the door, weary from work.
She would deliberately turn her back to the entrance, or merely lift her eyelids to offer a gaze utterly devoid of warmth, as if Su Yiyi’s presence or absence held no meaning for her.
She would respond to Su Yiyi’s concerned greetings with the briefest of words, even intentionally bringing up trivial matters that might hint at dissatisfaction—such as, “Today’s soup was a bit salty,” or “You came back too late.”
And Su Yiyi, this prey she had so carefully conditioned with ‘trauma’ and ‘fragility,’ fell perfectly into the trap. She interpreted Lan Yucheng’s aloofness entirely as emotional fluctuations stemming from past ‘trauma,’ another manifestation of inner unease.
Consequently, she not only showed no anger but her eyes brimmed with even deeper pity and guilt. She would move with greater caution, her voice softening, even performing extra, almost ingratiating gestures out of a desire to compensate—like warming a cup of milk or gently massaging Lan Yucheng’s tense temples.
This vicious cycle of ‘misunderstanding’ plunged their relationship deeper into a mire of false affection.
Lan Yucheng pushed Su Yiyi away with indifference, only to be met with tighter embraces and even more meticulous care.
It was like a dark, intricate dance: one constantly retreated, the other relentlessly advanced, their steps intertwining until they plummeted into an abyss.

One evening, Su Yiyi returned late again. Perhaps exhausted from work, she sat by the headboard after her shower, hair still slightly damp, intending to rest before drying it.
Under the warm, yellow lamplight, her eyes were closed, long lashes casting shadows beneath them. Occasionally, a droplet of water would fall from her hair, tracing a path down her slender neck before disappearing into the collar of her pajamas. Below the slightly open collar, her collarbones were distinctly visible, her skin flushed a faint pink from the hot shower.
Lan Yucheng had initially intended to sting her with cold words, but upon witnessing this scene, her throat tightened.
A surge of emotions—a mixture of anger, possessiveness, and a dark yearning—gripped her.
She detested Su Yiyi’s defenseless, almost fragile appearance. It reminded her of her own dependency and ignited an urge to destroy, to defile this ‘purity.’
She walked over, not maintaining her usual distance, but instead climbed directly onto the bed, moving closer to Su Yiyi.
Su Yiyi sensed the movement and opened her eyes. Seeing Lan Yucheng so close, a flicker of surprise crossed her face, immediately replaced by tenderness. “Did I disturb you?”
Lan Yucheng did not reply. Instead, she reached out, her fingertips cool, and lightly touched Su Yiyi’s neck, slowly tracing the path where the water droplet had fallen.
Su Yiyi’s body instantly stiffened, her breath catching. Wherever Lan Yucheng’s fingertips passed, a fine tremor erupted. It was not pleasure, but rather the chilling throb of being targeted by a dangerous, beautiful creature.
“Yucheng…” Su Yiyi’s voice held an imperceptible tremor. She wanted to pull away, yet her body felt pinned. A complex mix of emotions held her captive—concern, panic, and a hidden, unspeakable spark ignited by this sudden intimacy.
Lan Yucheng absorbed her reaction, a thrill of control surging through her veins. She leaned down, her nose almost brushing Su Yiyi’s earlobe, her warm breath caressing the sensitive curve of her ear and the side of her neck.
“Why are you back so late?” Her voice was low, imbued with a cold quality, more an accusation than a question. “You… smell of someone else.”
This was a completely baseless accusation, a naked act of humiliation and manipulation. Su Yiyi’s eyes widened sharply, desperate to explain: “No! I just worked overtime and had a late supper with colleagues, I…”
“I don’t like it.” Lan Yucheng cut her off, her fingertips pressing harder, almost digging into the skin of Su Yiyi’s neck, leaving shallow red marks.
Her lips brushed lightly against Su Yiyi’s earlobe, her voice a demonic whisper, “You are mine, Sister Yiyi. Everything about you should carry my scent.”
The words exploded in Su Yiyi’s mind like thunder.
Humiliation, fear, a strange sense of being needed, and a deeper lust ignited by this powerful possessiveness, all converged into a chaotic vortex that consumed her.
She felt a dizzying weakness wash over her. Her hands, which had intended to push the other away, involuntarily clenched the bedsheets.
Lan Yucheng watched the person beneath her, observing the struggle, the fear, and the gradually hazy allure in her eyes, tainted by desire.
A vast, twisted pleasure engulfed her. She wasn’t seeking tenderness; she was exercising power, asserting her ownership in this manner, and defiling this ‘gentleness’ to combat her own shameful dependency.
She lowered her head and bit Su Yiyi’s collarbone, neither too lightly nor too hard.
“Ah…” Su Yiyi cried out in pain, but her voice was laced more with incredulous shivers and submission.
Lan Yucheng lifted her head, licking the corner of her lips, her gaze as dark as a bottomless, icy pool. “Remember this feeling,” she said, her voice calm yet chillingly significant. “This is my mark.”
With that, she rolled over to her side, turning her back to Su Yiyi, as if the dangerous predator who had just emanated such menace was merely an illusion.
Su Yiyi was left alone, her clothes slightly disheveled, fresh teeth marks and red imprints on her neck, her heart pounding like a drum. She trembled, immersed in the lingering afterglow of that brief yet intensely violent experience, a cocktail of pain, fear, and a certain depraved excitement.
As Lan Yucheng reveled in the thrill of control, she was simultaneously pushing herself into a deeper, more insane abyss. And Su Yiyi, caught between the extreme sensations of being destroyed and being needed, sank further and further, unable to escape.
