Recreating the Dream

Chapter 11 • 1,512 words • 13 min read

Su Nanxing didn’t rush off after work.

Instead, he walked back to his apartment.

The place was less than five hundred meters from the company, so he didn’t bother calling a car.

He strolled back under the glow of the setting sun.

At home, he took a thorough shower, shedding the stiff black suit he’d worn all day.

From his wardrobe, he picked a simple white casual blazer, pairing it with a light blue shirt with an open collar.

On the bottom, he wore loose jeans.

His usually neatly combed hair fell loose, becoming soft and fluffy, with a few strands gently brushing his forehead.

In an instant, he shed the cold, aloof aura of the day.

The sharp edge of the elite faded, replaced by a youthful freshness and ease.

As he exited the apartment lobby, he immediately spotted the familiar black Rolls-Royce Cullinan by the roadside.

He habitually pulled open the passenger door and slid in.

Glancing around the car, he froze in surprise—there, in the back seat, sat Gu Yanzhou.

Su Nanxing was taken aback.

‘Didn’t A-Kai say he was picking me up?’ he muttered inwardly.

Gu Yanzhou lifted his eyes, his gaze heavy, and said without a trace of emotion, “Come sit in the back.”

Su Nanxing resignedly pushed the door open, got out, and circled to the other side, settling into the back seat.

Come to think of it, they hadn’t seen each other in nearly a month.

Alone in the car now, the air was thick with repressed longing.

Su Nanxing’s gaze unconsciously glued to Gu Yanzhou’s hand resting on the center console.

Long fingers, distinct knuckles, cool white skin—those hands were so beautiful he couldn’t look away.

He swallowed instinctively.

Gu Yanzhou broke the silence first, speaking indifferently.

“Work going smoothly?”

Su Nanxing snapped back to reality.

“Mm, it’s fine. I went to Qin Group today. They seemed to approve of my design.”

“The design for the cultural tourism city—was that you?”

Su Nanxing tilted his head, eyes curving.

“Yeah, surprised? I’m pretty amazing.”

Gu Yanzhou fondly ruffled his hair, his hand sliding down until his fingertip stopped on Su Nanxing’s lips.

Su Nanxing parted his lips slightly, his tongue brushing faintly against Gu Yanzhou’s fingertip.

Gu Yanzhou’s Adam’s apple bobbed.

The moment the rear partition rose, he pulled Su Nanxing onto his lap.

Su Nanxing pressed close, taking Gu Yanzhou’s hand and guiding it slowly upward over his abdomen, stopping at the loose collar.

He pressed down on Gu Yanzhou’s hand, applying a bit of force.

Su Nanxing tilted his head back, exposing his long neck, sexy collarbone, and the dark little mole.

Everything Gu Yanzhou had said was most alluring in his dreams—Su Nanxing revealed it all without reservation.

Su Nanxing’s pose, ripe for the taking, pleased Gu Yanzhou immensely.

It had been a while, and he seemed to have learned how to please even better.

The Cullinan glided smoothly into the garage of Yanshan Residence.

As soon as the car stopped, A-Kai stepped forward and stood respectfully with his hands down.

He waited for a long moment before the rear door slowly opened, and Gu Yanzhou stepped out, his posture upright.

But Su Nanxing remained in the car, repeatedly fidgeting with the loose collar of his shirt, trying to hide the conspicuous marks on his neck.

No matter how he adjusted, the red marks of varying depths remained exposed.

He cursed inwardly—he really shouldn’t have chosen this low-neck shirt when leaving.

Gu Yanzhou glanced into the car, coughed lightly, and waved his hand at A-Kai.

A-Kai immediately understood.

He bowed and retreated, giving them enough space.

Only when A-Kai’s figure completely disappeared around the corner of the garage did Su Nanxing push open the door and step out, looking a bit flustered.

Without a word, Gu Yanzhou took off his black suit jacket and draped it over Su Nanxing’s shoulders, wrapping him snugly.

Then he naturally took Su Nanxing’s cool hand and led him toward the mansion.

Under the eaves of Yanshan Residence, Uncle Xu was already waiting.

From a distance, he saw the usually aloof young master holding a man’s hand tightly as they approached.

His pupils contracted almost imperceptibly.

The young master had only mentioned that an important guest was coming, but never that it would be such a special one.

The corner of his mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.

He quickly concealed his surprise, regained his usual composure, and stepped forward to bow.

“Young master, dinner is ready.”

Gu Yanzhou nodded slightly, merely responding with an “Mm.”

Su Nanxing caught the peculiar expression on Uncle Xu’s face.

His ears burned, and he instinctively tried to pull his hand free from Gu Yanzhou’s grip.

They entered the dining room.

Gu Yanzhou took the main seat and looked at Su Nanxing.

His gaze was gentle but brooked no refusal, indicating that Su Nanxing should sit to his right.

Su Nanxing complied.

He raised his hand to take off the jacket on his shoulder, but his fingers froze the moment they touched the fabric.

He looked around the dining room—servants standing by, Uncle Xu not far away.

With so many eyes on him, he stopped.

Seeing this, Gu Yanzhou said flatly, “You may all leave.”

The servants and Uncle Xu dared not linger.

They bowed and retreated as one, leaving only the two in the dining room.

Gu Yanzhou stood up, walked slowly to Su Nanxing, and gently removed the jacket from his shoulders.

He looked down at Su Nanxing’s neck and collarbone, where fresh red marks were scattered, vibrant and eye-catching.

A surge of thoughts roiled within him, but he held back.

He decided to feed the person in front of him first; everything else could wait.

Throughout the meal, Gu Yanzhou was meticulous, constantly serving Su Nanxing dishes, as if afraid he’d suffer even a hint of grievance or hunger.

Finally, Su Nanxing protested.

“Stop giving me food—I’m full.”

Gu Yanzhou put down his chopsticks and asked softly, “Full?”

“Mm, I won’t eat anymore. Can I look around?”

Without waiting for a reply, Su Nanxing stood up and walked out of the dining room.

Yanshan Residence sat halfway up the mountain.

The two-story building was constructed along the slope.

The first floor housed the dining room, living room, and guest rooms.

A long corridor ran through, connecting the entrance at one end and the garden leisure area at the other.

The backyard was for servants’ quarters.

The second floor included the master bedroom, guest rooms, and a study, with a large terrace offering an expansive view.

Su Nanxing went up the stairs to the second floor and headed straight for the large terrace.

The evening breeze, carrying the coolness of the mountain, washed over him.

He leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window and looked down—

Yanshan Residence perched on the hillside.

Below were layers of trees and courtyards.

Further out, the lights of the entire capital spread out, twinkling, bright yet hazy, merging into a gentle, shimmering expanse in the night.

If he walked down from Yanshan Residence, how long would it take?

Su Nanxing found it amusing.

Who would be so foolish as to walk when they could ride?

That wasn’t a question he needed to ponder.

Gu Yanzhou appeared at the terrace entrance, his gaze fixed on Su Nanxing leaning against the window.

The hem of his shirt was loosely tucked into his waistband.

The sharp line of his waist curved down, accentuating the shape of his buttocks, adding an inexplicable allure in the night.

Gu Yanzhou approached slowly, wrapping his arms around Su Nanxing’s waist from behind.

His low voice murmured by Su Nanxing’s ear, “What are you looking at?”

Su Nanxing turned his head slightly, looking up.

“It’s so high up here.”

Yanshan Residence was high, perched on the mountainside in the northern part of the city.

Gu Yanzhou was high, at the top of the power hierarchy in the capital.

Su Nanxing was just a star fallen to the dust—inconspicuous, unremarkable.

Gu Yanzhou kissed his forehead and whispered, “Let’s go to the room.”

Gu Yanzhou didn’t take Su Nanxing to the master bedroom but to a guest room next door.

A strange feeling suddenly rose in Su Nanxing’s heart.

The master bedroom was Gu Yanzhou’s private territory.

But this feeling was quickly replaced by another, more dangerous realization.

The decor of the guest room left Su Nanxing stunned for a long time.

He even had the urge to flee.

White gauze curtains.

Bells on the curtains…

Su Nanxing couldn’t help but recall that late night when Gu Yanzhou had called him, saying he’d had another dream.

And Su Nanxing, relying on the fact that Gu Yanzhou needed him, had recklessly crafted an even more humiliating dream for him, one he couldn’t resist.

Was Gu Yanzhou going to recreate everything from that dream?

Su Nanxing regretted it.

Back then, he shouldn’t have thought, ‘The mountains are high and the road is long; Gu Yanzhou can’t do anything to me.’
