Chapter 37: Berserker(2)

[Deron Online Gallery]

[Middle School Girl Blood Berserker Entering the Gallery LOLLLLL] [121]

(A video of Yeon scattering blood while delivering a cool line)

I was pushing through the main quest when I saw some Singsing Guild members roaming around. Thought there might be a PvP fight, so I started recording LOL. Ended up capturing something hilarious.

[Comments]

[Wow, WTF, did you just wipe out 50 people alone?]

[Is this even a game? LOL]

[That’s because it’s a third-job character. Those guys haven’t even reached second-job yet.]

[Is there really that much of a difference between third-job and second-job?]

[It’s a massive gap. The game practically turns into something else.]

[Bow down to the Blood Berserker LOLLLLLL]

[Guess they were really inspired by a martial arts novel they read recently.]

[A middle school girl reading martial arts novels?]

[She’s an active middle schooler, but martial arts novels are trending among her classmates.]

[Hawawa… Middle School Girl-chan… Have you become the Blood Berserker…]

[Gallery Master spills blood!!!]

[You’re insane LOL]

[Whoosh!]

[LMAO the Gallery Master has splattered blood everywhere LOL]

[Look at that expression LOL. Narrowed eyes and trembling lips, totally hot LOL]

[She’s doing some serious seductive flexing LOL.]

[What job class is that?]

[It’s Berserker.]

[Whoa;;; Middle School Girl-chan… you’ve gone insane…]

[How come my Berserker isn’t that strong?]

That evening, just before the shutdown law kicked in, I logged off the game and lay down on my bed.

I checked the Deron Gallery on my phone, and as expected, my gameplay video had been archived.

Even my voice had been captured clearly.

I felt my entire face heat up. Hugging my soft pillow, I flailed my legs and kicked at the bed.

But it was too late to regret anything. The milk was already spilled.

Once a video is uploaded, it doesn’t come down.

“Ughhhh…”

Letting out a deep sigh, I slowly sat up.

Of course, that guy had been watching the whole thing.

The angle of the recording was exactly from the spot where the [Ramjwi Thunder] Guild member had been hiding behind a rock.

I looked into the large mirror hanging in my room.

The little girl reflected in the mirror had a face that was bright red, puffing out small, frustrated breaths.

Watching myself, I tried to calm down.

As I inhaled and exhaled, the heat slowly escaped through my lips.

By the time the fiery color on my face began to return to normal—

Knock, knock—

I turned my head at the cautious knocking on my door.

“Who is it?”

[Mas, Master, pfft… Master, it’s time to study.]

The voice mixed with barely suppressed laughter was unmistakably Harang’s.

The little girl in the mirror grimaced.

The heat that had been steadily dissipating suddenly came rushing back,

turning her face red once again.

“You!”

Thud thud thud, with small feet pounding the ground, I approached and suddenly flung the door open.

Harang, who had been waiting in front of me, was startled and quickly knelt on one knee, bowing his head.

Then, he began shouting.

“Blood! Blood! Blood Blood!”

The tightly clenched corners of his mouth twitched.

My fingertips started trembling, and through the now white, blurred vision, all I could see was Harang’s mischievous smile.

“What, what are you doing?”

“I bow before the supreme leader of the Blood Sect…”

What the hell is this brat doing all of a sudden?

I looked around in panic.

Thankfully, I couldn’t see my mom.

Only Harang and I were standing in front of the darkened hallway.

“Stop it…”

“The gallery is in chaos. Everyone’s been dying to know the title of the martial arts novel that the Blood Master read.”

“I said, stop it!”

My breathing grew ragged.

I glared at Harang, who, despite my glare, still didn’t drop his mischievous smile.

He looked like he’d caught a good opportunity to tease me.

“Should I stop?”

“Uh, please… stop it.”

“Then, do that for me.”

“Wh-what?”

I couldn’t believe what he was asking for.

“What did you say? That I am the Blood Master?”

Harang’s gaze was serious.

It looked like he wouldn’t stop his teasing until I did the thing he was asking for.

I stepped back, shaking my head.

I could never do that.

It was fine in the game, but this wasn’t a game.

This was reality.

“I-I don’t want to.”

Harang snorted at my words.

With a pfft, his gaze shifted to the end of the hallway, towards the closed door leading to the living room.

There was a faint light coming from beyond the door, and I could hear the sound of a television playing, as if my mom was watching it.

“Blood!”

At that moment, Harang yelled loudly.

He did it on purpose, as if trying to make sure my mom would hear.

I hurriedly reached out to cover his mouth, but Harang swiftly stood up and stepped back.

The height difference made it impossible for me to reach his annoying mouth.

“Stop! Stop it!”

I could feel the anger bubbling up inside me.

I had completely overlooked the fact that he was here.

Looking at Harang, I recalled stories I’d heard about ordinary siblings.

“Do it quickly.”

Harang’s urging continued.

If I didn’t do it now, he’d start shouting even louder, making sure my mom would hear.

“Would you like me to tell her that you smoked?”

“Go ahead. I already quit. But then I’ll show her this. I’ll tell her that our Hayeon is the Blood Master.”

“This little brat…”

“Hayeon, the Blood Master. Please, say it quickly.”

Harang’s annoying smile never stopped.

Finally, I let out a sigh and lowered my head.

“If I do it, it’s over, right?”

“Yeah. I won’t tease you with this anymore.”

Fine. If that’s what he wanted, I would do it.

I lifted my head, keeping my gaze arrogant as I slightly tilted my chin, looking down at him.

This was the process of bringing back the perfect Blood Master image I had shown in the game, right here in reality.

“Oh…”

As Harang’s admiration followed, he began to adjust his posture.

I straightened my slightly bent back and flapped my arms.

The sleeves of my pajamas, which had been hanging loosely, suddenly spread wide with a whoosh sound.

“I am the Blood Master.”

A voice, full of power, flowed out in a low tone.

In this moment, I had become the great leader, above ten million Blood Sect followers.

“What are you doing?”

“Eh…?”

Harang’s foolish response made my eyebrows furrow.

How could a mere follower hold their head high in front of the Blood Master?

That was an absolute impossibility.

Words weren’t necessary. With a glance, I pointed to the floor, and Harang’s eyelids began to tremble uncontrollably.

“Wha… what…”

“Kneel.”

This is the Blood Sect.

All followers must bow to the Blood Master.

I was perfectly acting out the role of the Blood Master, just as Harang wanted.

“What are you two doing?”

I heard my mom’s voice.

Turning my face slightly with a stiff expression, I saw her standing at the living room door, looking in at us.

“Uh, no, it’s just that…”

“Blood Master? Could it be from a martial arts novel? Hayeon, are you practicing for the school festival?”

The moment my worst fears became reality.

It seemed my mom had overheard everything.

How much of the conversation had she heard?

A heat rose in my face, blurring my vision.

As I struggled to say anything, Harang nodded and answered for me.

“Y-yeah! She asked me to watch her practice her lines…”

“Really? I guess middle schools are choosing martial arts novels for their plays these days?”

“The times have changed!”

“Times have changed? When I was young, we didn’t do plays based on martial arts novels.”

My stomach churned as if I were going to vomit.

My cheeks were so hot, I felt like they would burn if I touched them.

My vision, blurred with embarrassment, wavered slowly. I felt tears threatening to fall if I closed my eyes.

I wanted to die from embarrassment.

“I-I’ll go to bed early tonight!”

I hurriedly left the scene.

After I returned to my room and shut the door, I could vaguely hear Harang and my mom talking outside.

I couldn’t hear them anymore. I wouldn’t listen any longer.

The next morning, I acted as though nothing embarrassing had happened the night before.

Harang also kept an eye on me and didn’t mention anything about yesterday.

But my mom was a problem.

“Hayeon, the Blood Master? Should I help you with your practice?”

As my mom kindly asked while preparing breakfast, I couldn’t bring myself to tell her to stop.

It felt like I couldn’t breathe.

“No, it’s fine…”

“When I was in high school, I was in the drama club. I can help you with things like voice training.”

“It’s fine…”

The food felt stuck in my throat, and I couldn’t swallow it.

In the end, I couldn’t finish my meal and had to escape to school.

I arrived at school earlier than usual, but even at this time, Sohee was already there.

Sohee, with a calm expression, smiled brightly as soon as she saw me and approached.

She was holding a large shopping bag in her hand.

“Hayeon.”

“Hi…”

“Why do you look so down?”

“I, uh… I just have a few things going on.”

“I see…”

Seeing that I didn’t want to elaborate, Sohee didn’t press me further.

Instead, she handed me the shopping bag and said.

“A gift!”

“A gift…?”

“Yeah. I thought you’d like it.”

The shopping bag felt quite heavy.

I quickly opened it to check its contents, and I noticed some writing in what looked like Chinese characters.

[Blood Master, One More Time]

“T-This…”

“I thought you’d like it, so I got it for you.”

What Sohee had handed me was a martial arts novel.

My body trembled, and my vision blurred. I had endured so much because of this Blood Master thing this morning and last night.

But Sohee had no way of knowing that. Pure and kind Sohee couldn’t have checked the Deron Gallery.

She must have seen my message in the guild chat and prepared this gift.

It was a present just for me.

I couldn’t refuse Sohee’s gift.

“Th-thank you…”

I gave a small smile and hugged the gift she had given me.

When school ended and I logged into the game, a flood of greetings from my guild members poured in.

As I checked some of them, the word Blood Master appeared again.

I let out a deep sigh.

What else could I do? I had brought this situation upon myself.

It was less embarrassing in the game.

Ren-[Everyone, stop chatting and level up quickly. I’ll start preparing for the raid with those who hit max level by the end of this week.]

I typed the message and drew my sword. I had finished all the main quests, but I hadn’t reached the max level yet.

I had skipped all the sub-quests.

But it didn’t matter. Instead of wasting time on sub-quests, it was better to head to higher fields and farm items while leveling up.

The last place I logged out from was near a hunting ground.

I immediately ran toward the monsters.

The red bloodlust emanating from my body spread out in all directions.

With all my skills unlocked, the Berserker’s hunting speed was insane.
