“Uh… we don’t even know each other’s names yet…”

“My name is Hwajuyeon. So…”

My attempt to deflect her was easily countered by her bright smile.

Honestly, I wondered what a woman of her beauty could possibly want with my number. With her looks, she could easily find someone prettier than me.

While curious, her unusual personality, willing to out herself to a stranger, made sense.

A GIF of someone shaking hands then washing them came to mind, but she was so beautiful, I didn’t think it applied.

“And you?”

“Me…?”

“It seems unfair for only you to share your name, don’t you think? You should tell me yours to even things out.”

“Ah… Kim Jia.”

Flustered, I blurted out my name, even though I didn’t have to.

For some reason, Hwajuyeon seemed to possess the uncanny ability to charm people.

“A pretty name.”

Hwajuyeon’s sly smile made me want to playfully hit her.

She was undeniably beautiful, but her demeanor and height made her seem somewhat clumsy, which made me want to playfully hit her.

“So, you won’t give me your number?”

“No.”

“I’m the head mod of the Yuri Gallery. Or maybe that’s too confusing… manager? Administrator?”

I wasn’t quite sure why she kept mentioning the Yuri Gallery, but I didn’t ask.

“I’m sorry.”

“Huh? What’s the reason for your refusal?”

I half-listened to Hwajuyeon’s rambling when I spotted my sister in the distance.

Never had I been so grateful for her presence. She was the devil trying to humiliate me in the bath, but now she was my savior.

Hwajuyeon noticed my diverted gaze, glanced at my sister, and clicked her tongue.

“You’ll definitely need to contact me eventually. We’ll see then.”

Yes. I highly doubt that will ever happen.

Hwajuyeon, like a third-rate villain, quickly disappeared before my sister arrived. Honestly, I was surprised. I thought she’d be more persistent.

Was she scared of my sister?

I considered that possibility as my sister approached, stroking my hair. But my sister was too kind for that.

“Jia, while I was gone, you didn’t follow strangers who offered you candy or give out your number, did you?”

That last part hit close to home. But I didn’t give out my number, so I was innocent.

“You keep treating me like a child. Someone did ask for my number, but I listened to you and refused.”

“Oh really? You listened well. You’re a good girl.”

I waited until she finished stroking my head and stood up. I wanted to go home.

I was exhausted.

The unusual conversation had worn me out. And I’d exchanged names, if not numbers.

“Sister, can we go home now?”

“Why? Are you tired?”

“No… not really… uh…”

I was tired. I wanted to go home. But my sister seemed so happy; it felt wrong to dampen her mood.

Am I being selfish? If I whine about being tired while she’s enjoying herself…

Indecisive, I whimpered like a puppy, looking up at her.

She silently watched me before gently stroking my cheek.

“Tired, huh? It’s okay to say so. I won’t be upset or angry.”

“Yeah…”

“I was starting to want to go home, so this is perfect timing. Did you pick out everything you needed?”

“Uh… I think so?”

I’m not sure. I only watched her pick things out. She probably chose well.

Concerned I might get lost, I took her hand and followed her to checkout, then out of the supermarket.

The walk home was far more relaxing than the trip to the supermarket. I felt like everything was resolved; I felt good.

Walking behind her, Hwajuyeon’s words came to mind. The head mod of the Yuri Gallery. My sister had been on that gallery. It seemed she was quite involved.

I couldn’t research it myself, so I decided to ask an expert.

“Sister, what’s the Yuri Gallery?”

“…Huh?”

She seemed surprised by the question, her voice slightly stilted. Her body also tensed; suspicious behavior.

“Oh… uh… we’re home now. You must be tired, Jia. Let’s go inside!”

She deliberately avoided the question; a stark contrast to Hwajuyeon. She quickly opened the door before I could ask again.

“We’re home.”

“We’re home!”

My sister rushed into her room, leaving Mom staring at her in surprise.

“Why is your sister suddenly acting like that?”

“I don’t know…”

Was the Yuri Gallery really that sensitive?

After a brief conversation with Mom, I returned to my room and turned on the rusty laptop.

That Hwajuyeon. So unexpected, yet intriguing.

I searched the gallery name online and browsed new posts.

Many did, but how were they silenced?

The head mod proved herself at the Yuri Gallery meetup, which she personally organizes.

She’s incredibly pretty and wealthy. The regulars fell for her.

So, no matter what she does, the regulars fawn over her, licking her boots.

Assistant mods are given to those favored by the head mod.

If the casual users object, they’re told to become regulars → regulars join the meetup → become head mod’s lapdogs.

This cycle repeats infinitely.

Hwajuyeon’s true nature was shocking. I’d thought she was just a typical pervert; she was truly malicious.

So, her asking for my number was just for amusement. I finally understood her actions.

Dazed, I returned to the main page. Honestly, I never expected that.

I stared blankly at the screen before slapping my cheeks.

Forget it. She’s irrelevant now.

My immediate concern was tomorrow’s school. This school had appeared out of nowhere.

It wasn’t a women’s university; I needed to find out what this school for women was. I immediately opened the new post section to ask.

I usually posted normally, but a pop-up appeared.

My home IP shouldn’t have triggered spam… My sister uses a regular account, so it shouldn’t affect her.

Stunned, I stood from my chair, a sticky note falling from my clothes.
