Chapter 14: A sudden bolt from the blue.

Why did I get caught and end up in this situation?

Even while watching the beef sizzling before me, I had no choice but to maintain a troubled expression.

“Wooju, so what happened? That person is your fan? When did you meet? Are they pretty? How old are they?”

“Sis, please stop with the nonsense and just eat…!”

I sighed, pressing my forehead as my sister bombarded me with questions, saying that not even the tornado that

recently wreaked havoc in the U.S. would have come this fiercely.

But if I stopped here, I wouldn’t be the infamous Gang Yeonju.

True to her mother’s resemblance, my sister, with her My Face attitude, relentlessly fired off more questions despite

my defiance.

“Just eat and talk at the same time. So, what do they look like? Don’t you have a picture? Can’t you just show me once?”

In the meantime, it’s typical of my sister to insist on grilling the meat herself and reach for the tongs.

It’s utterly hopeless. This person never lets go of a target once they’ve set their sights on it.

“Do you think I’d have a picture?! I’ve only met them twice!”

“Oh, is that so? But how did you get so close? If you’re going on dates, it can’t just be a normal relationship.”

“I’ve told you a million times, it’s not a date…”

Clearly, she had no intention of listening to me at all.

From the moment she pestered me at home, I repeatedly insisted, “It’s not a date,” “They’re not my girlfriend,”

“Please don’t misunderstand.” Yet she seemed to have erased all that from her memory.

Or maybe she had retained it but simply refused to understand it. That’s even worse—damn it.

“Ha… I just happened to meet Seoha noona at a Twip party. She was briefly on the staff that day, and she recognized me because she said she’s my fan.”

“Huh? Weren’t you broadcasting without showing your face?”

“I had announced what I was going to wear the day before, so I guess that’s how she recognized me.”

“Really? She’s a true fan.”

That’s true.

Not a wrong statement, so I nodded appropriately.

“Anyway, I went to Aitex yesterday to check out a game I got sponsored for, and I just happened to run into her there. Then we ended up talking about hanging out together.”

“They say if coincidences happen multiple times, it’s fate. Isn’t that wonderful…?”

This sister of mine must have been reading romance web novels or webtoons lately, as she seems to have the same

perspective as those viewers who eagerly try to link any interaction between male and female streamers to some

romantic storyline.

At this point, she probably thinks that I and Seoha noona are no longer just a broadcaster and a fan, but rather in a

romantic relationship. Oh dear.

“Nom nom… So, what kind of person is she?”

As I put a few adequately grilled pieces of beef onto her plate, she grabbed them two at a time and persistently dug

for information about Seoha noona.

Since running away seemed like a bad idea, I decided to give only minimal answers I could manage.

Either way, whether I answer here or get interrogated at home, it’s the same.

“What kind of person do you want me to describe…? I don’t really know much. I only heard her name when we parted.”

“Ugh, that’s not what I meant. What does she look like? What’s her body like? Is she your style?”

“Um, well…”

Such a direct question would typically have me responding with “What are you talking about?” and brushing it off,

but I found myself speechless as Seoha noona’s figure accidentally crossed my mind.

Her face is pretty. At least, compared to everyone I’ve seen in real life or even the celebrities on TV, she’s among the prettiest.

As for her body…

Smack!

“W-Wooju!? Why did you suddenly slap my cheek?!”

“…I just realized I’m really a creature of instinct.”

I desperately tried to erase the silhouette that had almost surfaced and exerted all my effort to ensure it didn’t return.

Damn it, Gang Wooju, you idiot. If you ever meet Seoha noona again, make sure to keep your distance. How could

you look at someone who approached you purely as a fan with any other perspective?

“Anyway, she’s pretty. I can’t help but think, ‘Why would such a pretty person be my fan?’”

I’m not fond of critiquing someone in a private space, but since my sister was so curious, I decided to share at least a

rough impression.

“That much? Then how does she compare to your beloved sister?”

Suddenly, my sister, who had been looking at me with sparkling eyes, pointed at herself and asked.

I suppose it’s true; she’s someone who’s never been told she’s not pretty anywhere.

“Sis, there are just some things you shouldn’t compare. How can I compare you to anyone else?”

“Hehe, right? No matter what, I’m the best…”

After sighing and indicating that it was impossible to compare, my sister shrugged her shoulders, looking all too

pleased with herself.

I felt like she was under some serious delusion.

“Of course, Seoha noona is much prettier.”

“…

As the saying goes, one should listen to the words of others until the end.

Declaring with no hesitation that Seoha noona was the clear winner, my sister, who had been gleefully bringing a

piece of beef to her mouth, shot me a furious glare.

“…I’ll tell Dad.”

That was a petty threat, something you’d expect from a grade school girl, and I couldn’t help but smile wryly.

If she thinks we’re still kids and that I’d withdraw just because she threatened to tell Dad, she’s sorely mistaken…

“I’m joking. How could anyone possibly compare to our model sister’s radiant beauty?”

“Right?”

Why was I caught and ended up in this situation?

Even while watching the beef sizzling right in front of me, I could only maintain a troubled expression.

“Woo-joo, so what happened? That person is your fan? When did you meet? Is she pretty? How old is she?”

“Unni, please stop with the nonsense and just eat…”

I sighed, pressing my forehead at my sister’s relentless questioning, as if she had caused the recent tornado that had

wreaked havoc in the U.S.

But I couldn’t just stop there. As expected of Kang Yeon-joo, she wouldn’t back down. True to being a spitting image

of our mom with her own unique personality, she continued firing questions at me.

“We can talk while eating, right? So what does she look like? Do you have a photo? Can’t you show me just once?”

In the midst of this, she also attempted to take the tongs to grill the meat herself, which was so typical of her.

It was despairing. This person never lets go of her prey once she has bitten down on it.

“Do you think I have a photo…? We’ve only met twice!”

“Oh, is that so? But how did you get so close? If you’ve gone on a date together, it must be more than just friends.”

“I’ve told you several times that it’s not a date…”

It was clear she had no intention of listening to me at all.

From the moment she started pestering me at home, I repeatedly said, ‘It’s not a date,’ ‘She’s not my girlfriend,’ and

‘Please don’t misunderstand.’ But it seemed she had completely erased all that from her mind.

Or maybe she had retained it but simply refused to understand. That would be worse—damn it.

“Ha… I just happened to meet Seo-ha unni at a TWIP party. She was briefly there as a staff member and recognized me because she said she was my fan.”

“Huh? Didn’t you say you weren’t showing your face on broadcast?”

“I revealed what I would wear the day before on the stream, so I guess she recognized me.”

“Really? She’s a true fan then.”

That was true.

It wasn’t incorrect, so I nodded appropriately.

“Anyway, I just went to A-Tex yesterday to check out an ad game, and I ran into her there by chance. Then we ended up talking about hanging out together.”

“They say if coincidences pile up, it becomes fate. How wonderful…!”

This sister of mine, who’s been spending time at home lately with nothing to do, must be reading romance web

novels or webtoons, and it’s clear she’s primarily focused on that genre.

She’s exactly like those viewers who, on various streamers’ broadcasts, eagerly hope for something to happen

between the male and female streamers, continuously typing ‘ᄆᄋᄆᄋ.’

At this point, in my sister’s mind, Seo-ha unni and I have probably morphed from a streamer and fan relationship

into a romantic one. Good grief.

“Yum yum… So what’s she like?”

As I put some properly grilled beef onto her plate, she eagerly inhaled it, persistently digging for information about Seo-ha unni.

Since escaping this was likely futile, I decided to only give her the answers I could manage.

Here, one answer and I’d be grilled at home for more; it’d be the same.

“What do you mean what’s she like…? I don’t really know much about her. I only heard her name when we parted.”

“Come on, that’s not what I mean. What does her face look like? What’s her body like? Is she your style?”

“Uh, well…”

With such a blatant question, I would normally respond with something like, “What are you talking about?” and

brush it off, but I inadvertently recalled Seo-ha unni’s image and found myself at a loss for words.

Her face is pretty. At least, compared to all the celebrities I’ve seen on TV or in real life, she’s one of the prettiest.

As for her body…

Slap!

“W-Woo-joo!? Why did you suddenly slap my cheek…?!”

“…I just thought, wow, I’m also a guy driven by instincts.”

I desperately tried to erase the outline I had almost conjured in my mind, exerting all my effort to prevent it from resurfacing.

Damn it, Kang Woo-joo, you idiot. If you meet Seo-ha unni again, make sure to take a step back. How could you look

at someone who approached you with pure intentions as a fan with such eyes?

“Anyway, she’s pretty. I thought, ‘Why is such a beautiful person my fan?’”

I don’t usually enjoy evaluating others in private, but since my sister was so curious, I decided to give her a brief impression.

“Is that so? Then how does she compare to your beloved sister?”

Suddenly, with sparkling eyes, my sister pointed to herself and asked me that.

Well, she wasn’t someone who hadn’t heard she was pretty before.

“Unni, no matter what, there are some comparisons that shouldn’t be made. How could I compare you to her?”

“Hehe, right? No matter what, I’m the best…”

Seeing me sigh and express that it was impossible to compare, my sister shrugged her shoulders in delight.

It seemed she was under some significant delusion.

“Of course, Seo-ha unni is much prettier.”

“…

As they say, one must listen to what others have to say until the end.

Without any hesitation, I declared Seo-ha unni’s complete victory, and just as my sister was about to bring a piece of

beef to her mouth, she shot me a glare with her eyes full of disappointment.

“…I’ll tell Dad everything.”

With that almost elementary school girl-like declaration of snitching, I couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly.

We’re not kids anymore, and thinking she could withdraw just because I’d tell Dad is a big mistake…

“It was a joke. How could there possibly be a more beautiful appearance than our sister, who’s a current model?”

“Right?”

I’m really enjoying this novel! It’s a pretty fresh concept! Looking forward to more chapters!

That said, I have to note that it looks like this chapter is duplicated? It seems like there are two successive versions of the same chapter in here. I was a little confused.
