Every protagonist in every story has a wonderful lover.
The hero who defeated the Demon King and ended up with multiple wives.
The legendary adventurer who traveled the world with an elf.
The knight who succeeded in marrying a princess, and so on.
Growing up reading fairy tales, I also wanted a lover like that. A beautiful lover, with large breasts and a big butt. So, I analyzed the protagonists of these fairy tales.
The common trait among legendary heroes was one thing: they were all extraordinarily capable.
The hero had the courage to challenge the Demon King.
The adventurer had the ability to traverse all the dangerous places around the world.
The knight had the swordsmanship to hold off entire armies by himself.
To catch up to them, I swung my sword relentlessly. Luckily, I had talent.
In no time, I became strong enough to wipe out monsters and bands of thieves around the village on my own.
But I still didn’t have a lover.
“Why?”
Unable to contain my confusion, I ran to the village’s only fortune teller.
The fortune teller, after seeing my face, asked why I had come.
“I want a lover.”
“Hmm… If you become strong enough, you will easily get one.”
I was shocked by the fortune teller’s words.
Was I still not strong enough?
Immediately, I thanked her and went back to training.
What is true strength? As a swordsman, true strength is the power to cut anything.
Golems made of solid rock.
Spirits with no physical form, made of fire or water.
I needed the power to cut through such beings.
And so, I perfected a sword that could cut through anything.
But still, I didn’t get a lover.
I went back to the fortune teller.
“I… I want a lover.”
“…If you become stronger, you’ll get one.”
She stared at me, as if saying, “You’re back again?” I was shocked once more by her words.
Was I still not strong enough?
After returning home and reflecting for a moment, I realized I was still lacking.
What did it matter that I had perfected a sword that could cut through anything?
In the end, the sword’s purpose was to cut down the opponent.
If the opponent moved quickly and dodged the sword, it was all meaningless.
Identifying what I needed to improve, I entered training once again.
One swing of my sword would now divide into dozens of blades.
A space-warping sword, impossible to dodge.
Thus, I perfected a sword that couldn’t be avoided.
Yet, I still didn’t get a lover.
“I want a lover! A girlfriend!”
“If you become stronger, you’ll get one!”
The fortune teller waved me off as if to say, “Stop coming here.”
Filled with frustration, I returned home.
And then, I found another weakness.
There is a limit to the sword.
A limit where you cannot cut something that is too far away from the blade.
Even if you can cut anything, even if it cannot be avoided, it’s meaningless if you can’t reach it.
I had to cut down my opponent, regardless of the distance.
So, I swung my sword, again and again.
Surpassing the limits of the sword.
It was even harder than the previous two tasks.
But I finally succeeded.
I looked up at the sky, which was now split in two.
“I… cut the sky…”
I had sliced the sky.
But still, I didn’t get a lover.
