Chapter 1: Prologue

I grew up in my father’s violence.

I am preparing a book cover.

Cover folding~

My mother died giving birth to me, and my father hated me for taking my mother’s life.

However, I didn’t hate my father or run away from home.

Although I couldn’t fully empathize, I understood my father’s feelings to some extent.

Well, my father made good money, too.

As long as I could endure the violence of my father coming home drunk occasionally, life was bearable.

That said, I couldn’t endure the violence forever.

For a while, I endured my father’s violence by playing games.

But perhaps because I repeated this for too long, the ruthlessness of the violence overshadowed the joy of gaming.

A new hobby.

I needed a hobby to escape from my father’s violence.

Since my father didn’t care what I did as long as I didn’t spend money excessively, he wouldn’t mind where I spent my money.

I already had 100 million won in my bank account.

So I began to look for a new hobby to replace gaming.

Guitar, piano, hiking, singing, composing, video production, drawing…

I really tried many things, but none of them caught my interest.

‘Is this what they call game addiction?’

It was a state I hadn’t recognized while I was gaming.

The game I found tedious suddenly made me miss it after just a month.

When I returned home, I confirmed that my father was not inside and headed to my room.

Vroom, vroom, vroom—

The quiet noise of the computer powering on.

Hearing this tranquil sound, my heart, which had been overwhelmed with irritation, began to heal.

The power turned on, and I quickly moved the mouse to launch a game.

The game I launched was “Legends of League,” shortened to LeoRi.

This game, which had been around for over ten years, was practically a representation of the planet Earth.

It was that popular, and I also enjoyed playing LeoRi.

“Shall I warm up my hands with my alternate account?”

Since I had taken a month off from gaming, it would be good to ease back in with my alternate account.

Though it’s embarrassing to say, my main account’s tier was in the top 0.01%.

“I probably got demoted while I was away…”

I should have at least played one match if I was going to be like this.

As I regretted that and was about to log in to my alternate account,

Ziiing—

The phone I had placed on the bed started vibrating.

I pulled the chair back and reached for my phone on the bed.

[Father]
11
A call from my father, who had never contacted me in my entire life.

Swallowing my tension, I answered the call.

“Are you the son of Son Yeonwoo?”

A voice I had never heard before.

Who could it possibly be calling me from my father’s number?

Putting aside my rising questions, I slowly opened my mouth.

“Yes. That’s my father, but what’s the matter…”

“Son Yeonwoo has passed away.”

My father had died.

The cause was a collision with a bus that ran a red light.

That collision had led to another crash with a truck coming from the opposite lane.

It was a series of collisions in a traffic accident that would guarantee anyone’s death.

I didn’t feel sad.

I didn’t shed a single tear.

To me, my father was someone worse than a stranger.

So after the funeral, the first thing I did was move out.

I didn’t want to stay in the house that still held his traces.

Above all, the house was too big for me to live in alone.

Having thought for a long time that the house was excessively large, I decided to move to a nearby studio apartment.

In the process, I had to throw away most of my belongings, but that was actually good.

Most of the stuff in the house belonged to my father.

“Phew…”

Having finished moving to the studio, I looked around.

It was larger than a typical studio, but it wasn’t bad.

Since I disposed of all the furniture from my previous house, the inside of the newly moved studio was completely empty.

“Let’s buy a good bed.”

I didn’t particularly like unnecessary expenses.

I didn’t want to buy furniture that I wouldn’t even use.

“By the way, what should I do with this…”

I pondered what to do with the frame I had carelessly brought along.

It was a frame with a picture of my mother, whom I had never seen, and a young version of my father smiling happily.

I wanted to dispose of the frame, but the moving company employee had meddled and insisted I keep it.

I dragged the chair over and reached for the frame.

It was an old frame with what looked like Styrofoam stuck behind the picture.

The marks of time were clearly visible on it.

“Let’s just throw away the frame.”

I couldn’t bring myself to throw away the picture, so I separated the frame from the photo.

I could just tuck the photo in the corner of the desk drawer.

With that thought, I opened the desk drawer, and in the process, the back of the photo naturally came into view.

On the back of the photo, there were words written in a crooked manner that were hard to read.

“Sorry, Hayoung. It’s something I shouldn’t do to my son, my son Minwoo…”

Screech—

Sizzle—

“Yeah, it’s better to throw it away.”

As soon as I saw the back, nausea surged up.

I nervously tore the photo apart and tossed the paper pieces into the trash can.

Crash—

Lightning struck.

As I pushed the curtains aside, I saw that it was already raining outside.

It was a heavy downpour.

Raindrops fell steadily.

As I blankly watched the scene, I pushed the curtains aside again.

I spread a blanket on the floor and lay down.

Maybe because I was tired from moving, I quickly fell asleep.

***

“Ugh… I’m thirsty.”

The first thing I felt upon waking was a severe thirst.

What followed was a significant headache and the sensation of my body being hot.

Struggling to get up, I made my way to the refrigerator.

Gulp—gulp—

As the cold water entered my body, I began to feel somewhat calmer.

The dizziness in my head seemed to ease a little.

…My body was still hot, though.

‘Is it a cold?’

Could it be that I caught a cold after sleeping on the floor for the first time in a while?

It could also be that my body hadn’t adapted to the new environment.

“Cold medicine…”

I guess I’ll have to go out and buy some.

These days, everything is delivered, but maybe cold medicine isn’t available for delivery.

With a glimmer of hope, I searched for “cold medicine delivery,” but

all the results were just unfamiliar “cold medicine ads.”

That meant I had no choice but to go outside.

To be honest, it was annoying.

Grrr—

Should I go out to buy cold medicine or not?

While I pondered this, my stomach grumbled.

When I checked the time, it was already morning.

“Maybe I should just order delivery… Huh?”

Excited at the thought of ordering, I stopped humming mid-phrase.

If I didn’t mishear, my voice sounded a bit strange.

“Oh, oh.”

After trying out my voice a few times, I was sure.

My voice had changed overnight.

And it was a very feminine voice.

Naturally, my gaze lowered.

What I saw were two large mounds that hadn’t been there before.

Soft—

Squish—

When I touched the mounds with my hands, the sensation was incredibly pleasant.

The soft and bouncy texture was so addictive… Wait a second.

“…Women’s breasts?”

These are women’s breasts.

Why do I have these…?

Doubt turned into suspicion.

Suspicion turned into certainty.

Certainty caused confusion.

My already dizzy head became even more complicated.

I hurried to the bathroom and checked my reflection in the mirror.

Long, black and red hair blended harmoniously.

Eyes with a shade of red different from blood.

Above all, two huge mounds that exuded a powerful presence.

And… an incredibly beautiful woman.

A woman reflected in the mirror that I was staring at.

“What the hell.”

I spat out a curse in disbelief.

But even the voice that cursed sounded sexy.

…I wanted to deny the reality before my eyes, but

I couldn’t deny it.

Overnight, I had transformed into a woman.

To be continued.
