“Ugh…”
Ye Yousheng let out a faint groan as he woke up.
A tearing pain surged from the back of his head, as if he had undergone a craniotomy, making it unbearable.
He tried to raise his hand to touch the back of his head, but he couldn’t control his body at all.
He couldn’t even open his eyes.
Only his thoughts had awakened—his body remained completely numb.
Then, he felt a slight sensation return to his fingers.
Though still weak to the point of pitifulness, it ignited a spark of hope in his heart.
He focused all his concentration onto that single finger, forcing it to tremble slightly.
If this continued, he might gradually regain control of his body…
Just as that thought crossed his mind—
Clatter!
Something fell to the ground with a sharp noise.
“Grandma, he woke up!”
A strange girl’s voice sounded by his ear, leaving Ye Yousheng puzzled.
Where was he?
Why was there a girl here?
He vaguely remembered playing a game at home.
After staying up for days, he had finally cleared that terrible game.
Then, a strange sentence appeared on the screen—
“Do you want to change your fate?”
Below it were two options: YES / NO.
As a seasoned ACGN enthusiast, Ye Yousheng had seen countless scenarios like this.
Click YES, and you’d either be dragged into some bizarre dimension for a death game—
Or transported to another world to begin an overpowered life—
Or most likely, the screen would display: “You’ve been tricked!” and crash your computer completely.
None of those outcomes appealed to him.
So he decisively chose NO.
Yes—he clearly remembered choosing NO!
And then?
After failing to restart his computer, he answered a phone call.
Someone said, “That’s not up to you!”
Then the Little Red Riding Hood who gave him the game suddenly crawled out of the TV, scaring him half to death—
—and dragged him into the screen…
Dragged into the screen?
Ye Yousheng’s first reaction was that he had encountered a ghost.
After all, being pulled into a screen only happened in horror movies like The Ring.
So the girl who just spoke—
Was she the Little Red Riding Hood who dragged him in?
And the “grandma” she mentioned—
Was the real ghost?
That would explain why his head hurt so badly and why he couldn’t move.
Simple.
He was being pinned down by a ghost.
Of all things, he had to run into something this terrifying.
Ye Yousheng wanted to curse loudly.
Unfortunately… he couldn’t even open his mouth.
“Ah… don’t pull me… how could he wake up so quickly? With injuries that severe, he should still be unconscious for another two or three days…”
“But, but! I really saw his finger move!”
“Ahem, maybe you saw wrong, or it was just a reflex twitch.”
“No way! I definitely didn’t see it wrong!”
…No, something wasn’t right.
Although the pain in his head was gradually fading, Ye Yousheng felt something slipping away along with it.
His memory felt fragmented.
Disconnected.
Was he really haunted?
Why did it feel like time had already passed?
A voice suddenly surfaced in his mind—one that felt strangely familiar.
—Yousheng, don’t die! I won’t allow you to die in front of me!
“Yiwu!”
He called out the unfamiliar name, reaching toward the void.
Yiwu…?
Whose name was that?
Why had he called it so instinctively?
“Oh ho… looks like he’s really awake.”
A childish voice sounded by his ear.
Ye Yousheng slowly opened his eyes.
His gaze was empty, his mind blank.
“What? Still a bit out of it? Then let’s use a clarity spell.”
A cool sensation swept through his brain.
He jolted and suddenly sat upright.
Where was this place?
Why was he here?
His previously hazy consciousness quickly cleared.
Rationality gradually returned.
So this… wasn’t a ghost situation after all.
Ye Yousheng rubbed his eyes as his vision slowly returned.
He looked around.
Old, worn furniture came into view.
A slightly shabby wooden bed.
Clean sheets and blankets.
A small, delicate chair.
A ticking wall clock.
And a stuffed toy—he couldn’t tell what animal it was, but it looked quite cute.
This seemed to be a girl’s room.
He touched the back of his head.
It felt damp.
When he brought his hand in front of him, he saw that it wasn’t blood—but sweat.
The splitting headache from before had almost completely vanished.
For a moment, he wondered if everything up until now had been a dream.
The two little girls in front of him silently watched his actions.
The ponytailed girl hid behind the bespectacled one, blinking her bright eyes at him.
“This is…”
The moment he spoke, Ye Yousheng was startled.
His voice was hoarse beyond recognition.
As if he hadn’t spoken in ages.
His throat was dry, his mouth bitter.
He swallowed back the question he had intended to ask.
“Hehe, I know you have a lot of questions, but let me say something first.”
The bespectacled girl looked no older than eleven or twelve.
Yet her every movement carried an inexplicable maturity and composure.
That strange sense of dissonance made Ye Yousheng frown slightly.
And just now… hadn’t the ponytailed girl called her “grandma”?
They looked like sisters.
But they were actually grandmother and granddaughter?
As these random thoughts crossed his mind, the bespectacled girl smiled and greeted him—
“Welcome to another world, traveler.”
That single sentence made Ye Yousheng immediately understand—
He had encountered the second scenario.
He had been transported to another world.
