Streamer Taker’s “Shooting” has long been a content series with a certain historical significance.
Taker resides in Diamond 4, also known as the Yeti tier.
The games that occur there are challenging, with each match presenting its own difficulties.
From the diamond gatekeeper who plays a thousand matches a season to various high win-rate alternate accounts, and the oddly enraged trolls, the lineup of players is anything but easy.
Even professional players sometimes get stuck here at the start of a new season, unable to quickly climb the ranks, which is enough to explain the notorious reputation of this place.
In short, it is a noisy, chaotic environment where incidents are never-ending.
You could say it has a vibe similar to Harlem; it’s an ideal spot for filming, given the diverse array of characters present.
A fantastic collaboration unfolds between the snipers and the locals, creating a kind of chemistry in the chaos.
Snipers want nothing more than to see Taker lose, while trolls on the other side keep throwing matches.
Each game becomes a mix of emotions, containing joy, anger, and sorrow.
As such, sometimes it resembles a variety show, other times a drama, and occasionally even a movie.
Today’s filming, however, seemed to lean more towards a serious film—an action movie, no less.
Not a B-grade flick, but rather a blockbuster that someone had intentionally put effort into directing.
In the center of this film set stood Taker and Gunhee, holding their breath as if they were part of a war scene.
Bodies piled high, indifferent to friend or foe, painted a grim picture.
Gunhee, like a war correspondent, navigated the battlefield cautiously.
The kill log ticked away in the top right corner, and once again, bodies piled up.
From a distance, this scene looked more like a disaster film than an action one.
Yet, the reason it was classified as an action film rather than a disaster movie was that the one responsible for this carnage was Gunhee’s ally.
Indeed, there was a monster on Gunhee’s team.
What was surprisingly noteworthy, however, was that this monster was far too beautiful to be simply labelled as such.
In the midst of the battlefield, a girl danced.
As she waved her twin swords, enemies flocked to her, and one by one, their heads rolled away.
Blood splattered everywhere.
It was, quite literally, a blood-soaked battle.
The pure white dress she wore had absorbed sticky, crimson stains, long losing its original colour.
The glass slippers she wore created puddles of blood with every step, making a squelching sound.
What was most frightening was that the amount of blood spilled by the girl herself was minimal.
The blood that stained her was primarily from her enemies, and yet her beauty remained completely untarnished, evoking a strange sentiment in those who watched.
Beautiful yet chilling, she seemed like a flower blooming on the battlefield, perfectly contrasting with her surroundings.
This was why Gunhee was more focused on capturing her image than on his own gameplay.
His extensive filming experience and the instincts of a 700,000 subscriber VTuber told him that this would undoubtedly be a blockbuster moment.
“Phew!” he exhaled as the brief battle concluded.
He had purposely reduced his commentary midway through, worried that overlapping audio might disrupt the moment.
It seemed that his efforts were not in vain.
The viewers appeared deeply engrossed in the previous scene; the previously slow chat began to speed up dramatically during the ongoing battle.
[What a rampage]
[Wow, this feels like I’m watching a war movie]
[Where else would you find such a beautiful female character in a war film?]
[Crazy, this is insane…]
[What is that? I’ve never seen that hero before.]
[When I play Camilla, I just end up dancing and dying.]
[Is that a tier 1 player?]
[I’ve never seen anyone use a pretty trash character like that…]
[That person was on your stream before, right?]
[I checked their history, and it’s insane. It’s all blue ranks. Haha.]
[From the ‘great defender.’]
[Isn’t this person an actor?]
[Ah… you don’t know? This is the legendary challenger Kayak…]
[What’s that supposed to mean, you nerd?]
[But aren’t there a few actors in Grandmaster? They just get shredded.]
[It seems like the actors are evenly distributed on both sides.]
[Look at Gunhee’s face; he’s just laughing. Hahaha.]
[He seems excited because he got a bus.]
“Yeah, it’s exciting.”
It was a situation that couldn’t help but be thrilling.
In just one game, they had captured footage that could take ten regular games to achieve.
Gunhee believed this would satisfy even the most demanding subscribers.
‘If I had faced him as an opponent…’
He would probably have been torn to shreds, just like the corpses lying at his feet.
‘Maybe the footage would have turned out even better.’
However, he also thought that if he had filmed from the opponent’s perspective, it would have been quite impressive too.
[If I were the opponent, I would have been cut down in three seconds. Haha.]
[20==]
[From what I see, he seems to hit only critical hits. If it’s not a tank, it really is a three-second cut.]
“…Or maybe not?”
Then, reading the chat, Gunhee reconsidered his thoughts.
Perhaps if he were on the opposing team, he might not have captured any noteworthy moments.
Suddenly, something flashed before his eyes, and the screen turned black and white.
This was a common sight when encountering top-tier players through the personal screens of other users.
Well, anyway, that wasn’t important right now.
‘If today’s filming goes well, we could wrap it up quickly.’
With the footage secured, Gunhee felt good.
Of course, he would need to get permission from the parties involved before uploading it to his VTuber channel.
The game ended.
As he relaxed his body, the tense muscles began to loosen, and his stiff fingertips started to tingle.
The world began to flow at its original pace again.
He gently pressed his sore eyelids while reflecting on the previous game.
It was a game that required a fair amount of concentration.
You could say it was well-deserved of its reputation.
The players featured in Taker’s filming truly lived up to their fame with their impressive skills.
Nevertheless, they were still no match for the built-and-optimized Camilla.
Some of them had skills similar to or slightly less than the players he had encountered during his challenger days.
Thanks to this, he could feel a sense of nostalgia.
Though he questioned why, with such skills, they were playing as snipers here, he had no right to say anything, especially since he was also participating in the filming.
Contrary to his expectations, he was matched as an ally with Taker.
He had imagined meeting him as an opponent instead.
If I had been matched as an opponent, I had planned to mercilessly kill Taker, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
I didn’t have any particular feelings towards him; it’s just how things should be if you want to stand out as an enemy.
In the previous game, I could be considered more of a hero than a villain.
Right now, I was just an actor participating in his viewer participation content.
I probably looked like an overwhelming ally supporting the protagonist with sheer strength.
Personally, I prefer villains, but anyway…
I stumbled upon Taker’s stream purely by chance.
While eating tteokbokki yesterday, I randomly turned on VTube, and his video immediately popped up.
So, participating in today’s content the very next day felt like pure luck.
I hadn’t played multiple games; I ran into him in my first match.
“Hehe.”
A silly laugh slipped out of my mouth before I could stop it.
I had turned on the stream to confirm that I left quite an impression on Taker and his viewers.
Sure enough, Taker and the audience were talking about me.
Unlike my past streams, the chat was moving rapidly.
The messages were filled solely with praises and admiration for me, which secretly felt quite good.
That was why a smile had escaped me, albeit embarrassingly.
While I was in the midst of this, wondering if there would be another filming session and whether I should participate if there was…
I received a friend request from Taker.
As I checked the stream, Taker was briefly away for something and had turned off the screen, asking for the viewers’ understanding.
It seemed that whatever he needed to do was related to me.
After seeing a post in the gallery about how disgusting it is for challengers to make friends in a dead game, my friends list had always been empty.
Now, for the first time, Taker had stepped into my empty friends list.
As soon as I added him, a message flew in from Taker.
I quickly opened the message.
Taker_1: Hello, this is Nox from the last game we played together. Your gameplay was so impressive that I reached out to you.
If it’s not too much trouble, may I upload this game, featuring you as the main focus, to my VTube channel?
I’ll also share a portion of the revenue generated from the video with you.
Please take your time to think it over and let me know!
It was quite a lengthy message.
From the perspective of someone watching the stream, it felt like a short time, yet he managed to write such a long message in that span.
Maybe he had a template for this.
“VTube…”
Although it was a long message, I grasped the content immediately without needing to read it in detail.
It seemed Taker wanted to use the game we played together as part of this week’s filming.
A video. For someone like me, who only planned to show my face during live streams, this was a surprisingly unexpected offer.
I tapped my fingers on the desk, continuing my thoughts.
I was weighing the pros and cons.
If a VTube video was uploaded, if my recent gameplay was enshrined on Taker’s YouTube channel…
The contemplation didn’t last long.
I immediately placed my hands on the keyboard and replied to him.
CamillaIsWeak: You can upload it.
In fact, it was a question that didn’t require any deliberation.
