Chapter 1082,121 words18 min read

“We have a new classmate in our class; let’s all welcome her!”

“Welcome, new classmate~”

The young female teacher with a high ponytail smiled and waved at Long Ling, who was beside her.

“Little friend, please introduce your name to everyone.”

Long Ling’s gaze swept across the adorable faces below the stage, revealing a sunny smile.

“Hello everyone, my name is Long Ling.”

Her silver-white short hair, cut in a neat bob, was smooth and shiny under the sunlight, and a daisy hairpin was clipped to her temple, her overly exquisite features like a delicate flower.

The little dragon cubs in the first row exclaimed in amazement.

Their eyes darted towards Long Ling’s dragon tail, trying to discern what color dragon she was.

“Her horns are like transparent crystals, could she be transparent?”

Other little dragons began to whisper to each other, and the classroom suddenly became chaotic.

Long Ling’s silver-white dragon tail moved slightly, and she pressed down on her pink lotus root starch dress with some unease.

Suddenly, the sound of a ruler hitting the desk echoed.

“Alright, quiet down!”

The teacher scanned the room with a stern expression, glaring at the mischievous little dragon cubs.

All the little dragon cubs obediently closed their mouths.

Only when the classroom was silent enough to hear a pin drop did the teacher turn to Long Ling with a gentle expression.

“Long Ling, there’s an empty seat in the last row.

You can sit there for now, and the teacher will rearrange your seat in a couple of days.”

Long Ling followed the teacher’s gaze and saw that a proud and exquisite little girl was already sitting next to that seat.

She wore a white shirt and black trousers, her features and eyebrows were very delicate, and her long hair fell over her shoulders, making her the most eye-catching among all the little dragons.

Long Ling had already noticed her when she entered the classroom.

The other girl’s cold gaze swept across her face, regarding everything around her as air.

Long Ling, carrying her schoolbag, walked down from the stage and sat next to the little dragon.

Long Ling greeted her amicably: “Hello, my name is Long Ling. What’s your name?”

The little girl glanced down at her condescendingly.

“Violet, you may refer to me as Your Grace, the Duchess, like the others.”

Her voice was cold and contained a composure that did not match her age, as well as a hint of subtle pride.

Long Ling obediently said, “Your Grace, the Duchess.”

Long Ling’s voice was sweet, and the fragrance emanating from her was more pleasant than the scent of the other dragons in the class.

The teacher at the podium had already started teaching.

Violet sniffed lightly, picked up her textbook, and began to read seriously.

Long Ling took out her pencil case and notebook from her schoolbag, placed them on the shared desk, and flattened her workbook.

She noticed a red line drawn on the desk with a pen.

She whispered to Violet, “What’s this?”

Violet glanced at her and said blandly, “You may only stay within the red line from now on, and you must not touch me.”

Long Ling quietly said “Oh.”

She moved her small stool to the side, creating a distance between them as if separated by a coastline.

The teacher was teaching a new lesson, but because she was a new transfer student, Long Ling had not yet received her new book.

Long Ling rested her cheeks in her hands, staring blankly at the teacher on the podium.

The teacher had been paying attention to the new student’s situation and called on Violet’s name.

“Violet, you will share your book with Long Ling in this class.”

Violet nodded slightly and spread her book flat on the desk.

The book did not cross the dividing line, and Long Ling had to get closer to see it.

She carefully moved her small stool closer to Violet.

The girl’s fragrance was very sweet, like a small, moving pastry.

Violet noticed Long Ling’s restrained and tense body, and the fine down on her pinkish-white cheeks was visible.

She was very quiet, unlike her previous deskmates, and she smelled good.

Long Ling noticed Violet looking at her and gave Violet a shy but bright smile.

“Thank you.”

Violet’s eyes flickered slightly, and she withdrew her gaze: “You’re welcome.”

Long Ling put her hands behind her back and listened attentively to the lesson.

Until the break between classes.

Violet left the classroom as soon as the bell rang.

Her deskmate in front, a round-faced girl with pigtails, eagerly turned around to chat with Long Ling.

“Hey, you’re really pretty, but you’re also very unlucky to be desk mates with Her Grace, the Duchess.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Her Grace, the Duchess, is not to be trifled with. No one has ever been her deskmate for more than a week. She doesn’t like other little dragons getting close to her.”

The round-faced girl’s deskmate, a chubby little boy, gesticulated vividly.

“Her Grace, the Duchess, is the leader of all the dragons in our class, and her family is very powerful.”

“Last time, there was a new student who sat with Her Grace, the Duchess, and was sent to drop out of school not long after.”

Long Ling’s face turned slightly pale.

The chubby boy saw that she was frightened and took out from his desk.

“I’ll give you this to eat. Don’t be afraid. I’ll protect you if anything happens.”

Cotton candy

Long Ling opened the package,

The round-faced girl suddenly jumped.

“What can you protect? You just brag all day. Don’t listen to him.

Anyway, as long as you don’t talk to Violet, you definitely won’t get into trouble.”

Long Ling nodded slightly and suddenly heard footsteps coming.

She looked up and saw that Violet had returned.

The two front deskmates quickly scurried back to their seats like mice.

Long Ling and Violet were both sitting by the window, with Violet’s seat on the inside.

Long Ling took the initiative to move her chair forward.

Violet walked past her directly.

She slightly raised her chin, not looking sideways, and returned to her seat.

After a while, Violet felt her arm being gently poked.

A white, tender palm opened, and a heart-shaped pastry lay quietly on it.

Long Ling’s ice-blue eyes were sparkling:

“Thank you for lending me your book. This is osmanthus cake made by my mother. I’m giving it to you to eat.”

It was a bit like the Samoyed dog at home, who always happily ran over with something in its mouth.

Violet never liked receiving these gifts, but this time, she wanted to try it.

It was wrapped in a light pink oil paper bag, with a childish drawing of a little dragon burying its head in food, the lines crooked, obviously drawn by her new desk mate.

The faint scent of osmanthus was different from the scent of her new desk mate.

Just as Violet finished eating, Long Ling’s eyes curved, and like a magic trick, she took out two identical pastries from her schoolbag.

She thought Long Ling was going to give the pastries to her and was about to refuse.

Long Ling leaned forward and gave the pastries to the round-faced girl and the chubby boy in front.

Surprise flashed in the eyes of the two little dragons: “Wow, thank you, new classmate.”

The chubby boy ate the fastest and saw that there were two more pastries in Long Ling’s lunchbox.

“I want to eat more.”

Long Ling gave the chubby boy another piece.

The three little dragons happily ate the pastries together.

Violet’s face darkened.

She thought the new student had given it to her specially, but every dragon got a share, and even the chubby boy in front had more than her.

In the following classes, Violet did not say a word to Long Ling.

Long Ling scratched her head. She soon received her new textbook and didn’t need to share a book with Violet anymore.

Soon, the bell rang for the end of class.

All the little dragon cubs had to eat lunch together at noon.

Long Ling was a new student, and her assigned seat was next to her deskmate.

She couldn’t find the dining hall, so she kept following Violet.

Violet also noticed that there was a little tail following her. She didn’t know what Long Ling was going to do, so she ignored the dragon who kept following her.

When they arrived at the dining hall, the other little dragon cubs didn’t dare to get too close to Violet.

Because she was sitting with Violet, she was automatically separated from the other dragons by a certain distance.

Lunch included chicken legs, ribs, fresh vegetables, butternut squash and corn, and yogurt, which smelled very good.

After studying hard all morning, Long Ling was already feeling hungry.

The chubby boy opposite her had already picked up a chicken leg and started eating it, and Long Ling also quickly started eating.

Halfway through her meal, she subconsciously glanced at Violet beside her. Violet was sitting upright, standing out from the crowd of children, and her table manners were very good.

The other little dragons were eating happily, and their dragon tails were wagging like electric fans, sometimes accidentally touching the tails of other little dragons, but Violet’s dragon tail never showed from beginning to end.

Long Ling originally thought that her tail was also hidden well, but she realized that she was no different from the other little dragons, and her dragon tail had already been wagging happily.

A mature little dragon could already control her tail, and this made her seem immature.

Long Ling suddenly felt a little embarrassed and quickly pressed her dragon tail back into her dress.

Violet saw this and coldly snorted.

Long Ling was confused and looked down at her plate.

She had already finished her plate, and the other little dragon cubs had also finished eating.

But it seemed like her stomach could still hold more.

Long Ling picked up her plate and saw that the chubby boy had gone to ask the teacher for steak again, so she went to queue up with him.

She ordered a steak and came back after queuing, seeing that Violet was still eating slowly.

Someone in a chef’s uniform had just arrived and brought Violet an exquisite lunch box, which looked different from everyone else’s.

The small lunch box had layers upon layers, and the box contained prawns, roasted lamb chops, and chicken wings.

The colors of all the dishes looked very tempting, and they smelled good.

Long Ling couldn’t name some of the vegetables, and there were many different kinds of meat.

Violet noticed that Long Ling was staring at the chicken wings on her plate, looking very pitiful, so she picked up two honey-glazed chicken wings and gave them to Long Ling.

Long Ling picked up the fragrant chicken wings and took a big bite.

It was indeed very delicious, much more fragrant than the big chicken leg she had just eaten.

“Thank you, Your Grace, the Duchess.”

Violet glanced at Long Ling. After finishing her meal, she picked up her plate and left.

Long Ling watched her leave in the direction of the dish return area and silently remembered the location.

After lunch, it was soon time for a break.

All the little dragon cubs had to sleep together.

Long Ling and Violet’s beds were next to each other.

Violet unfolded the soft blanket, skillfully lay down on the bed, and entered a nap state.

The supervising teacher was watching over them, and all the children had to sleep obediently.

It was Long Ling’s first time in an unfamiliar environment, and she tossed and turned in bed, with only the newly acquainted Violet beside her.

She stared boredly at Violet’s profile. Violet’s nose was straight, and the contours of her face were very good-looking.

Halfway through her staring, Violet suddenly opened her dark golden eyes.

Their eyes met.

Long Ling was stunned for a moment. It seemed that there was a sense of security around Violet.

She subconsciously moved closer to Violet.

Violet stared at her, frowning.

Long Ling moved a little closer.

A soft pillow suddenly covered her head.

Before Long Ling could push it away, the pillow was taken away by a hand.

Violet’s lips silently opened and closed: “Sleep.”

Long Ling shook her head at her.

Violet’s hand suddenly covered Long Ling’s eyes.

Her hand was a little cool, with a light fragrance, and a vaguely familiar feeling.

Long Ling gradually felt sleepy and was able to fall asleep peacefully in an unfamiliar place.
