His hand still glowed with fading golden light—clear proof that the mid-tier Assassin’s Divine Skill—Execution Thread—had come from him.
Purple Dragon stepped forward slowly, his eyes burning with shock and murderous intent.
“A mere Level 19 pirate…knows so much of our secrets—even what happened between me and White Dragon?”
His voice dripped with venom.
“Who are you?”
Black didn’t answer.
Instead, he hurled the Overlord Spear straight at the magic crystal!
【Javelin Toss!】
Destroy the spell—now!
But Purple Dragon had anticipated this.
With a flick of his wrist, a simple Fireball knocked the spear off course.
Then, his staff flared—a luminous barrier instantly encasing the crystal.
Damn it!
Why had he come back?
Black’s mind raced, just as stunned as Purple Dragon.
In the original plot, Purple Dragon never returned.
But Purple Dragon’s next words answered his confusion:
“Lord Black Dragon predicted it perfectly.
Someone who knows so many of our secretswould surely know about the ammunition depot plan.”
“He ordered me to return—to see if I could catch the mysterious saboteur.”
“And look—his foresight was brilliant.”
Purple Dragon’s gaze locked onto Black, his staff already gathering deadly energy.
One misstep—and he’d strike without mercy.
“Still… I never imagined you were the one.”
“Not even Lord Black Dragon will believe this.”
“You knew Jörmungandr’s location…knew our coded signals…”
“How many more secrets do you hide?”
A bead of cold sweat slid down Black’s temple.
Of all the ways to trap myself…
This was the cost of altering the timeline—again.
But regret was useless now.
Purple Dragon blocked the only exit.
Destroying the crystal? Impossible.
Surviving was the real challenge.
Black clenched his fists, calculating odds.
Last time, even in Flow State,he’d been crushed by Level 59 Red Dragon.
But Purple Dragon was only Level 51—a mage, not an assassin.
Mages had slower reflexes, weaker bodies.
In Flow State, with his Level 43 Imperial Wyvernand two summoned sea dragons,he might just hold his own.
He didn’t need to kill Purple Dragon—just create an opening to shatter the crystal.
If all else failed, he could flee through the teleportation array.
But time was short—less than an hour until detonation.
“Oh, I’ve got plenty of secrets,”
Black said with a calm smile—cold as winter steel.
“…Like how White Dragon gave you Dragon Scale Elixir?”
Purple Dragon hesitated, suspicion flickering.
“Not just that,” Black continued, voice dropping to a venomous whisper,
“I also know you broke the Parliament’s code—slept with multiple subordinates’ wives, gave them green hats…and threatened those poor women:‘My dear… you wouldn’t want your husband to die, would you?’”
“Imagine what the Parliament would do…
if they learned that.”
Every word struck Purple Dragon like a dagger.
His face twisted in unholy rage, eyes wide with disbelief.
“YOU—!”
Fury drowned his reason.
He raised his staff, channeling a massive high-tier spell—completely missing the predator creeping behind him.
Perfect.
Black’s eyes sharpened.
He slammed his left hand forward, triggering the spiritual link.
NOW!
From the shadows, Little Jinzi lunged, mouth gaping—
GOLDEN DRAGONBREATH!
A torrent of molten fire, crackling with embers, blasted toward Purple Dragon’s back.
“?!”
Purple Dragon’s reflexes saved him—he rolled sideways, just grazing the inferno.
His robes charred, but he was unharmed.
“Coward!”
He exhaled in relief.
A direct hit from that breath would’ve crippled him.
But as he glared at Black—he saw Black smiling, pointing at his own staff.
Purple Dragon looked down—and froze.
In his panic, he’d aborted the spell mid-cast.
The unstable mana imploded.
BOOM!
The backlash hurled him meters away—hair disheveled, mind reeling,a trickle of blood at his lips.
(Still, the unformed spell did little real damage.)
“I’LL KILL YOU, YOU BASTARD!”
Rage doubled as clarity returned.
“Little Jinzi! Wind Blades! Lightning Flash! Swallow Return!”
Black didn’t waste words—he unleashed everything.
Little Jinzi’s wings snapped open—three razor-sharp wind blades screamed toward Purple Dragon’s limbs.
Before he could react, the wyvern vanished—reappearing as a golden lightning bolt, claws raking for his shoulder.
“Vine Shield!”
Purple Dragon, a master of wood-element magic, summoned a thick wooden barrier, its surface writhing with living vines.
The vines lashed out, shattering all three wind blades—then whipped Little Jinzi away with brutal force.
“Hiss!”
The wyvern snarled mid-air—then twisted its body, tracing a sharp “Z”-shaped path—slipping past the vines, raking three bloody gashes across Purple Dragon’s shoulder.
Swallow Return—showing its true lethality.
“Summon! Hammerhead Sea Dragon! Sea Lion Dragon!”
While Little Jinzi pressed the attack,
Black triggered his own summoning.
Azure light erupted from the floor—two geysers shot skyward—and the massive forms of his sea dragons materialized, ready to tear the mage apart.
