The girl stood atop the Tyrant’s head and let out a joyous laugh, a strange sound that echoed through the zombie horde before being drowned out by the roars of the dead.
The foul, putrid stench constantly assailed her nose.
The girl on the Tyrant’s head turned to look behind her, towards Song Ning, who was weaving through several weaker Tyrants.
She moved nimbly, stepping on the heads and shoulders of zombies, darting through the horde of tens of thousands!
A Tyrant roared in fury, swinging its massive arms in an attempt to snatch the tiny “insect!”
But the girl in the exoskeleton simply leaped lightly, evading the Tyrant’s grasp, then landed on its arm and sprinted towards its head with incredible speed!
Instantly, the Tyrant’s oily green eyes widened as if sensing a mortal threat; its roars turned frantic, and it began flailing its arms wildly!
But it was no use!
Wielding dual bone blades, the girl leaped into the air, her figure so agile and swift that she was but a blur!
Swish!
A flash of blades sliced through the air!
The Tyrant froze for a moment, and then its head tumbled to the ground, crushing several zombies beneath it.
CRASH…
Its heavy corpse crashed to the earth, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The girl curled her lip into a smile.
‘Big Sister is amazing, too!’
Soon after, Song Ning resumed her fierce battle with the remaining Tyrants.
The convoy in the distance, which had been on the verge of a morale collapse just moments ago, suddenly found its spirit renewed.
Ye Yin stared in disbelief at the two girls moving through the horde as if it were an empty field!
“This… is this the true power of exoskeleton armor, pushed to its absolute limit?”
Ye Yin glanced down at his own exoskeleton and sighed inwardly.
A spark of fighting spirit ignited within him.
‘Damn, a real brawl, blow for blow, that’s what a man lives for!’
For this operation, the zombie horde itself was not the greatest threat.
Their real threats were the powerful Special Infected and the Variants…
But now, the giant Tyrant that could have wiped them out had been rendered completely harmless!
It was time to counterattack!
Ye Yin leaped onto the roof of a military truck and roared.
“Brothers, push harder! Before our bullets, these zombies are no different from paper targets!”
His gaze swept over the horde; more and more zombies were converging from all directions, with a particularly large number pouring out from the urban center of A City.
It seemed… endless…
They had to break through…
A fierce look entered Ye Yin’s eyes as he looked impatiently towards Ping Chengcheng and Song Ning, who were still in the midst of the horde.
The number of zombies was growing.
He guessed there weren’t just tens of thousands, but perhaps over a hundred thousand!
Even if the convoy could annihilate them all, so what?
They would lose a massive amount of military resources in the process!
Ping Chengcheng naturally knew this as well.
As the last Tyrant crashed to the ground, she approached the other girl.
“Sister, we need to go now. There are too many zombies; we can’t kill them all.”
The girl leaped into the horde, her speed reaching its peak.
Her hands transformed into sharp claws, tearing apart all zombies within a ten-meter radius in an instant!
Black, coagulated blood and chunks of rotten flesh rained down from the sky, yet precisely avoided the two girls.
Song Ning gave a sound of agreement, cleared the zombies around her once more, and began to move through the horde!
When they returned to the convoy, everyone stared at the pair in utter shock.
The battle line slowly contracted, and the special operations teams responsible for eliminating other infected had also returned to the vehicles.
Ye Yin looked at her, his face a mixture of expressions.
If he were to fight those two, what would the outcome be?
Ye Yin couldn’t help but wonder.
‘I’d probably be slapped to death in a single blow!’
Why did he feel no different from an ordinary person, even while wearing exoskeleton armor?
Ye Yin couldn’t fathom it.
When wearing the armor, he certainly felt his strength and speed increase manifold.
But with that came an incredibly high degree of difficulty in controlling it!
He could only skillfully handle moderate levels of speed and power.
Why were these two so ridiculously proficient?
It was as if they were fighting with their own bodies, completely unhindered.
Didn’t they feel even the slightest bit of awkwardness using the exoskeleton armor?
Song Ning felt no such thing at all.
And the other girl?
She wasn’t even wearing any exoskeleton armor.
“Adjust the convoy formation, two columns abreast! Three armored vehicles at the front, two on each flank, and one armored vehicle at the rear!”
“We’re breaking through!”
After the command was given, all personnel returned to their vehicles.
All vehicles for this trip to A City had been modified; even the fully armored military trucks were fitted with firing ports on both sides!
With the roar of powerful engines, the entire convoy swiftly adjusted into formation!
There was no room for error in this battle!
The zombie horde swept in like a tidal wave!
“Heavy machine gun vehicles, concentrate fire on the densest parts of the horde! All other personnel, clear out the zombies elsewhere! Alternate your fire, don’t let up for a second!”
Ye Yin had already said everything Ping Chengcheng was thinking.
Atop the Kamaz truck, Ping Chengcheng and Song Ning had not gone inside.
Wu Sheng sat in the driver’s seat, his hands trembling—but not from fear.
A black mass of zombies was frantically charging the convoy.
The roar of the heavy machine guns was like firecrackers exploding next to his ears!
“Clear the nearby zombies and head directly into the urban center of A City!”
Ping Chengcheng said something that made everyone hesitate.
Weren’t they breaking through?
Why enter the city center?
Shouldn’t there be fewer zombies if they went around?
Ping Chengcheng didn’t explain.
She simply stared, her brow furrowed, at the urban center of A City, from which massive waves of zombies continued to pour.
‘We have to go in! It’s the only direct and shortest route to the laboratory!’
Ping Chengcheng guessed that most of A City’s urban area was probably like this now!
What on earth had happened in A City?
Why was this so absurd?
Even in her previous life, she had never heard of such an insane number of zombies!
First the Chimera Composite Zombie, and now this terrifying number of zombies… It was completely different from what they had seen from the helicopter not long ago.
What was the cause?
The butterfly effect of her rebirth?
What kind of butterfly effect could be this outrageous?
‘Wait a minute!’
A thought suddenly struck Ping Chengcheng!
Her eyes widened, and her heart skipped a beat.
‘Yes, if that’s the case…’
‘It must be because of that one thing!’
The thing that happened right after she was reborn—the first person she killed!
It was a researcher from the A City laboratory!
‘What was that person’s identity?’
‘Was it because I killed him that all these horrifying changes are happening now?’
‘Did it cause the Chimera Composite Zombie to appear in the apocalypse ahead of schedule? Why did it appear early, and what does it have to do with that laboratory in A City?’
‘Could the outbreak of the apocalypse be related to that lab?’
In an instant, a thousand thoughts flashed through the girl’s mind.
Most importantly, could she find a serum inside that could suppress her own monstrous transformation?
