‘Next, should I go straight home?’
She had originally intended to do so, but as she calmed down and thought about it, there seemed to be a problem.
Su Mian knew Qi Chuan’s personality very well; he would definitely go to her house if he could not find her.
He also knew exactly where she kept her spare key.
Furthermore, he was driving while she was walking, so he would certainly get there faster than her even if she had left first.
If she went home now, she would likely run into Qi Chuan directly.
Su Mian did not know when she would be able to change back to her original form.
Returning home in this state and getting caught would make it impossible to explain.
Was she supposed to use a cliché trope and claim to be her own cousin?
That was nonsense.
They had grown up together and knew each other’s relatives perfectly.
Qi Chuan was well aware that she had pitifully few acquaintances and only one sister who was away all year.
Given their long friendship, Su Mian suspected there was a high probability he would recognize her even in this form.
The risk of going back directly was simply too high.
She had thought about telling her best friend about her special circumstances, but her childhood experiences of being isolated made her instinctively resist.
Qi Chuan was one of her few friends, and she did not want to jeopardize their friendship because of this.
After hesitating for a while, Su Mian finally gave up on the idea of going home immediately.
However, she could not just stand on the street waiting.
The scent of desire mixed with the sweetness of blood from the passing crowds kept her on the verge of losing control every second.
She had to find a quiet, undisturbed place where she could be alone.
Was there a suitable place?
There actually was.
After a slight hesitation, Su Mian turned and walked toward a hotel a hundred meters away.
Checking into a hotel room meant she would not have to endure the fear of losing control on the street or be disturbed by strangers.
She only needed to wait for her appetite to subside and for her body to transform back.
This was undoubtedly a good choice, but why hadn’t she considered it sooner?
Naturally, it was because she had not brought her ID card today, and in her current state, she could not use it even if she had it.
In recent years, the city of Yujing had been strictly inspecting various illegal motels.
Small inns that did not require an ID were rare now, and finding one during the day would be even harder.
Moreover, the environment in such places would definitely not be good.
That was why Su Mian had not considered this option before.
But going home was too risky, and staying on the street was not a solution either.
The longer she stayed in the crowd, the harder it would be for her to calm down.
She had to take a risk now.
Su Mian stopped near a hotel called “Tomorrow” but did not enter immediately.
Instead, she observed carefully.
It was a mid-range hotel; its business was neither exceptionally good nor bad.
However, it was currently near noon, which was not the best time to visit.
There were still many people coming and going in the lobby.
While there weren’t many people checking in, many were coming down for lunch, so the timing was quite poor.
But it wasn’t as if Su Mian had chosen to turn into this form!
She watched from outside for a while but could not find a good opportunity.
She moved away and used her phone to look for other hotels on the map.
There were naturally several missed calls on her screen.
Su Mian hesitated for a moment but ultimately did not call back.
She could have lied to Qi Chuan to find out where he was and told him to stay away from her house.
But it still wasn’t safe.
She couldn’t explain what she was doing, and if someone else suddenly came to her door after she got home, what then?
The risk was simply too great.
Su Mian decided it was best to wait until she changed back before returning.
Then the problem remained.
How could she get a room without drawing attention?
Under normal circumstances, this might be simple, but these were not normal circumstances.
She would have to use some abnormal methods.
Su Mian checked several hotels nearby according to the map.
During this process, her body became increasingly uncomfortable, and her hunger became stronger than ever.
With no other choice, she finally settled on a high-end hotel with a foreign name.
She did not go in directly either.
As she had thought before, she had no ID and could not withstand an investigation.
So Su Mian waited.
About ten minutes later, a woman in a handmade suit with exquisite makeup walked out of the main entrance.
The girl noticed the woman did not drive away but instead entered a large shopping center directly across the street.
Before long, she came out carrying two beautifully wrapped shopping bags.
Su Mian realized her chance had come.
She approached in a seemingly casual manner.
The woman instinctively glanced at her, likely wondering why she was dressed so heavily in the heat, but she clearly didn’t think much of it.
After all, they were just strangers; a second glance was usually a waste of time.
The woman felt it was odd, but she just passed by without suspicion.
At that moment, taking advantage of the woman’s lack of attention, Su Mian suddenly tapped her.
“Hmm?”
The woman instinctively turned her head.
She was about to say something, but in the next second, her eyes met those red ones.
All her words were swallowed back down.
Her eyes widened, and a faint pink light flickered in her pupils.
“Take me to your room.”
Su Mian’s light voice drifted into the woman’s ear.
The woman hesitated for less than a second before nodding.
“Alright.”
She turned slowly, her steps somewhat unsteady as if she were drunk.
However, because she didn’t walk too fast, she didn’t fall.
Su Mian followed closely behind her, staying near like a close friend.
After walking into the magnificent lobby, she even pretended to chat with the woman.
The hotel staff, including the receptionists and the lobby manager, did not suspect anything.
No one came over to stop her or demand that she register before going upstairs.
Others merely glanced over and looked away.
It wasn’t until they entered the elevator and the doors closed that Su Mian finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She leaned against the elevator wall, panting slightly.
Because she strongly resisted her demonic powers, she rarely used such methods.
She had no choice this time, but using the power made her condition even worse.
Her thoughts were a mess.
Amidst her wandering thoughts, Su Mian suddenly realized the elevator was unusual.
It was too large, and why were there only two buttons?
She was stunned for a moment before realizing this was likely a private elevator.
It was the kind that only traveled between the lobby and a specific floor.
‘She is actually a super-rich woman?’
Su Mian looked at the woman with some surprise.
Although she had never stayed in such a high-end hotel, she knew a little bit about them.
Floors with private elevators were usually the top floors, containing the most elite presidential suites.
The cost for one night would be equivalent to several months’ salary for an ordinary person.
Was this lady truly that wealthy?
It wasn’t obvious at all.
Although her clothes looked expensive and her jewelry didn’t look fake, Su Mian felt something was off.
However, the elevator had already been activated, and it was too late to back out now.
Leaving suddenly would also look very suspicious.
Su Mian could only watch as the elevator rose rapidly and finally came to a slow stop.
