Flirting with a Cunning Doctor

Chapter 11 Part 112,959 words25 min read

After the two formally got together, their mode of interaction didn’t change too much.

They still bickered on a daily basis; winning left them in a refreshing mood, while losing left them secretly aggrieved.

Correspondingly, however, physical contact rapidly increased.

Take the simplest head-rubbing or cheek-pinching, for instance—in the past, Tang Chen would swat Ye Cheng’s hand away with a single palm strike every time, but now that they shared a different layer of relationship, doing so felt a bit out of place.

Yet, if he were expected to just obediently cooperate, he was naturally unwilling as well.

Therefore, letting him touch was fine. However, it had to be a mutual back-and-forth.

Every time, Ye Cheng couldn’t help but chuckle helplessly, feeling that the cost of touching him once was rather high.

Since growing a bit older, he hadn’t experienced being touched on the head or having his face pinched by anyone.

Ye Cheng sat by the dining table, a bowl of lean meat congee placed before him. Curling plumes of hot steam rose up as he casually stirred it twice with a spoon.

Hearing a movement, he lifted his head to look over, finding Tang Chen leisurely heading downstairs. The young man walked straight over, pulled out the chair opposite him, and sat down, casting a slightly disdainful glance at the lean meat congee.

It wasn’t that it tasted bad, but eating it for several days in a row was truly killing him.

“Did you brush your teeth properly?” Ye Cheng asked with a smile.

“Mm-hnh.”

Tang Chen gave him a look that asked ‘are you talking nonsense?’ before lowering his head to slowly sip the congee.

Halfway through the meal, Ye Cheng suddenly acted as if he remembered something and said:

“The servant mentioned just now that you really like eating imperata root congee paired with fried dough sticks for breakfast.”

Tang Chen grew instantly vigilant:

“You’re not allowed to eat it!”

Ye Cheng was slightly stunned and couldn’t help but laugh.

“Such a fast reaction? Rest assured, I didn’t say I was going to eat it. We’ll wait until you’re fully recovered. How is it now? Open wide and let me take a look.”

Tang Chen curled his lip.

“Talk after finishing the meal.”

“Alright.” Ye Cheng chuckled, lowering his head to continue drinking his congee.

After finishing, Tang Chen stood up, just in time to see Ye Cheng setting down his spoon as well. He asked casually:

“Are you eating any more? I’ll take the bowls inside.”

“No more.”

Tang Chen smoothly took his bowl, stacking them together, and turned to enter the kitchen.

Usually, they only needed to place the bowls in the sink to soak in water, and the servant would wash them in a bit.

Walking back out, he sat directly on the chair beside Ye Cheng, opening his mouth to let him look.

“The swelling is almost completely gone. You can probably eat regular food tomorrow, but don’t immediately jump back to heat-inducing foods. Eat more vegetables.”

Ye Cheng pinched his chin and inspected it seriously for a few moments.

Suddenly, a thought occurred to him: although this awkward kid was never honest with his words, it seemed that whatever Ye Cheng said, the boy actually took it to heart. Looking at it this way, he was actually quite obedient.

He couldn’t help but curve his lips into a smile, leaning down to plant a brief kiss on the corner of Tang Chen’s lips.

Caught completely off guard, Tang Chen was kissed square on. He was a bit dazed:

“Didn’t you say no kissing?”

Ye Cheng pinched his cheek, looking to be in a quite excellent mood.

“Aren’t you almost recovered now?”

Tang Chen curled his lip, and snapping out of his daze, he immediately pinched him back, refusing to show any weakness.

That evening, the two of them were scheduled to attend a commercial banquet.

Many young, rising elites in the circle would be present, making it an excellent opportunity to establish mutual connections.

Both Ye Cheng and Tang Chen were considered renowned figures among the younger generation—the former due to his family background and formidable methods, while the latter because he barely relied on his family, or rather, had no family to rely on, relying instead on his own intellect and charisma to carve out a brand new territory.

Furthermore, rumors whispered that the private relations between the two were exceptionally close.

Therefore, when the two arrived at the venue dressed in formal suits, they attracted the attention of quite a few people.

Both wore traditional, meticulous dark suits that complemented their tall, straight builds. One possessed a reserved, outstanding aura, while the other carried a confident, flamboyant demeanor—both radiating the unique presence of leaders, exceptionally eye-catching.

The young men and women exchanged pleasantries, toasted one another, and nodded with shallow smiles, making the atmosphere quite harmonious.

However, due to his awkward personality, Tang Chen was not adept at socializing.

Most of the time, he secretly reminded himself to keep things brief and to the point, avoiding making mistakes by speaking too much.

After a short while, he walked to the side, his gaze scanning a long table filled with desserts.

Pausing for a moment, he still merely picked up a glass of red wine at random.

Unfortunately, before he could even take a single sip, he was interrupted by Tang Zhe, who had walked over to find trouble.

Following Tang Chen’s brutal threat last time, Tang Zhe actually harbored some fear toward him in his heart. However, his arrogant pride stood firm, refusing to allow him to back down.

Seeing Tang Chen alone, he couldn’t wait to rush over, delivering a cold, mocking insult to vent his anger from the previous incident:

“Tang Chen, you really are useless enough, actually running off to rely on a man. Is lying beneath someone else comfortable?”

Clearly, he had caught wind of those ambiguous rumors.

Seeing him, Tang Chen’s face held no pleasant expression as he snorted coldly:

“Who told you I’m the one on the bottom?”

Tang Zhe had initially assumed the boy would feel shame and fury, but he never expected to receive such an arrogant counter-question.

Somewhat dazed, his first reaction upon snapping out of it was to spin his head to look at Ye Cheng.

Pausing for a beat, he glared back at Tang Chen, his face full of suspicion:

“You’re talking absolute rubbish! No matter how one looks at Young Master Ye, he doesn’t seem like someone who would be pinned.”

“Oh my, do you understand this circle very well?”

Tang Chen curled his lips nonchalantly, his expression carrying a hint of provocation.

Tang Zhe’s expression altered instantly, flushing with embarrassment.

He felt that letting himself be dragged off-topic and led by the nose by Tang Chen was truly too stupid.

“Shameless creature. If it weren’t for my dad telling me to come over, I wouldn’t want to speak to you at all.”

Tang Chen let out a leisurely smile:

“Could it be that your dad didn’t tell you that I no longer share any relation with your family? Oh wait, that’s incorrect—there’s still a little bit left.”

“President Tang—meaning your dad—and I, after half a month of negotiations, have already entered a signed contract as business partners.”

Tang Zhe froze completely, clearly oblivious to this matter.

He had always assumed his father merely wanted him to interact more with Tang Chen because Tang Chen shared a good relationship with Young Master Ye; he never expected that the target of his disdain had actually become one of the company’s clients.

For Tang Zhe, who was currently striving hard and wanting to inherit the family business, this was truly an indescribable, massive blow.

He turned around, his figure nearly stumbling as he left the banquet hall in a pathetic state, unable to wait to rush back and seek confirmation from his father.

Tang Chen watched him leave the venue, his expression cold.

Curling his lips into a mocking smile, he lifted his red wine to take a sip.

To enhance the flavor profile of the alcohol at the banquet hall, various wines had been placed inside ice buckets to chill for a brief period in accordance with temperature requirements.

Drinking it like this made the fruit aroma rich and the texture more delicate.

Although Tang Chen was mostly recovered, such a sudden burst of cold still caused a flash of pain to flare up. He couldn’t resist knitting his brows and inhaling, his mouth slightly open.

Not far away, Ye Cheng had been using his peripheral vision to pay attention to Tang Chen the entire time.

Seeing his amusing appearance at this moment, he inexplicably thought of a little puppy sticking its tongue out in the summer to cool down, and a sudden desire arose to walk over and give him a rub.

Ye Cheng raised his wine glass, the corners of his mouth curving slightly as the smile in the depths of his eyes grew increasingly thick.

If Tang Chen knew what he was thinking, he would likely stride over, drag the man out of the venue to a place where no one could see, and award him a punch.

Once the commercial banquet concluded, Tang Chen and Ye Cheng took a car straight home.

Although most of the time at the banquet had been spent conversing, the alcohol consumed from time to time accumulated to a significant amount.

On the surface, Ye Cheng appeared clear-headed with stable steps, but if one observed closely, they would discover that his demeanor already held a few hints of intoxication.

Ye Cheng sat down on the sofa in the living room, supporting his forehead with one hand, his head feeling a bit dizzy.

Seeing this, the servant immediately went to the kitchen to brew a cup of honey water, placing it on the coffee table. Tang Chen gave a silent wave of his hand, and she immediately left tactfully.

Compared to his usual self, the slightly intoxicated Ye Cheng had pupils that were minutely out of focus, losing a bit of his shrewdness. His slightly blank appearance actually made him look somewhat harmless.

Tang Chen rested his chin on one hand, admiring his drunken state with a slight smile.

Waiting until the man had finished drinking the honey water, he cleanly and decisively pinned him down onto the sofa, leaning down to press a kiss directly onto his lips.

Hooking his lips, he licked minutely bit by bit. A faint sweetness swirled between their lips and teeth, making the flavor all the more exquisite.

Caught entirely off guard as he was thrown down onto the soft sofa, the alcohol rendered Ye Cheng’s reactions a bit sluggish, his expression still looking a bit dazed.

Once the kiss concluded, he licked the residual sweetness at the corner of his mouth.

“What are you pinning me down for?”

The moment the words left his mouth, he snapped out of it a little.

Lifting his hand to rest it on Tang Chen’s lower back, he gave a gentle press, pulling the boy even closer to himself as he asked with a smile:

“Why the sudden passion? Do you like me very much?”

Whether it was due to being drunk, his words bypassed any careful consideration, becoming exceptionally direct and even holding a hint of narcissism.

Tang Chen slouched lazily over Ye Cheng’s body, offering a slight grunt:

“I don’t like you.”

“Then what are you doing?” Ye Cheng’s eyes contained a smile.

Carrying a hint of triumph, Tang Chen tilted his head up slightly and bit down on Ye Cheng’s Adam’s apple, nibbling gently before licking it as if to offer comfort.

Ye Cheng pressed his lips tightly together, the color of his eyes darkening instantly.

Caught entirely off guard, he had been fiercely flirted with. To have the usually awkward brat suddenly put on such a display truly left him somewhat unable to take it.

His throat moved as he asked in a hoarse voice:

“Where did you learn that from?”

Tang Chen lifted his head, planting a kiss right by his lips. Then, resting his chin back on his own arm, he tilted his head slightly, smiling purely and innocently:

“Isn’t it exactly what you did to me last time?”

The air grew silent for an instant, turning increasingly coquet and ambiguous.

For a moment, Ye Cheng was completely choked up.

His usual eloquence actually failed to produce a single word at this juncture. Looking down, he could only see a small crown of hair.

Driven to let out a low grunt, he let out a helpless smile.

Exerting a sudden burst of strength, he flipped over nimbly. The situation reversed in an instant, pinning the person in his embrace beneath him.

Starting initially on the sofa, they later shifted battlegrounds, carrying the person into the bedroom.

This night, both individuals enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Coupled with a hint of intoxication, it felt as though their entire beings were immersed in warm water, floating and sinking minutely, before suddenly scaling to the very peak at a certain given moment.

The next day, when Ye Cheng opened his eyes and woke up, he caught a bit of movement by the bed.

Looking over, he found Tang Chen opening the wardrobe to take out some clothes.

“So early, where are you going?”

Tang Chen looked toward him.

“Out for a morning run.”

Whenever the weather was good in the morning and he had time, he would go out for a lap.

Ye Cheng propped his chin up to watch him, his expression surprised while his heart also held a hint of frustration. He said with profound meaning:

“Your energy is truly excellent.”

Tang Chen, seemingly feeling that the man’s mood wasn’t desolate enough, curled his lips and added another line:

“Go back to sleep for a bit. I’ll make breakfast today.”

During weekend rests, they disliked having outsiders around, so they gave the servants a holiday, letting them return to clean only after they went to the company for work.

In an instant, lying on the bed, a strong sense of role-reversal arose in Ye Cheng’s heart—both desolate and amusing.

Looking back up at Tang Chen, the young man was currently pulling a sweatshirt down over his body. On his lean waist, which had yet to be covered, lingering marks from the intense passion of the previous night remained visible.

Tang Chen’s movements suddenly paused.

Ye Cheng:

“What’s wrong?”

Tang Chen’s expression looked a bit unnatural as he muttered in a low voice:

“My waist is a bit sore.”

Ye Cheng couldn’t resist laughing, having truly almost assumed the boy was completely unaffected.

“How about skipping the morning run today? Slack off for a day, it’s fine.”

He only received a glare from Tang Chen, who huffed:

“I’m heading out. Goodbye!”

The door was shut fiercely with a loud bang.

Ye Cheng laughed softly, also getting up to prepare to wash up. The smile remained hung on the corners of his mouth, his mood exceptionally good.

By the time Tang Chen returned from his morning run, Ye Cheng was currently in the kitchen making ham and fried eggs, the enticing aroma already drifting out.

Tang Chen poked his head into the kitchen.

“You’re making breakfast already? Then I’ll head up to shower first.”

Ye Cheng:

“It’s almost ready, hurry up.”

“Got it.” Offering a response, he quickly headed upstairs.

At the dining table, the two sat opposite each other.

Placed before both of them were ham with fried eggs and two slices of toast with minutely charred edges.

Tang Chen frowned:

“Why is mine milk while yours is honey water?”

“Because I need to sober up,” Ye Cheng answered naturally. “Furthermore, drinking milk is good for you—helps you grow taller.”

Tang Chen directly delivered a very unceremonious kick to his leg beneath the table.

Then, with a face full of feigned composure, he lowered his head to eat his breakfast.

Fifteen minutes later, both had mostly finished eating.

A flash of cunning crossed the depths of Tang Chen’s eyes.

Standing up, he walked to Ye Cheng’s side, leaning down to press a kiss directly onto him, transferring the ring of milk mustache on his lips completely onto the man’s face.

Having finished the kiss, he even said with a beaming smile:

“Good morning.”

Ye Cheng burst into laughter. Resting his hand on the young man’s waist, he gave a gentle press to pull him into his lap. Burying his face into his shoulder neck, he took a breath and laughed:

“A whole scent of milk fragrance.”

Yet, inexplicably, it felt like drinking aged rice wine—immensely intoxicating.

Being held and placed upon his thighs, Tang Chen immediately struggled awkwardly, knitting his brows:

“Let go.”

“Just let me hold you for a bit.”

Ye Cheng soothed softly, his lips pressed against the back of his neck, rubbing minutely. It caused Tang Chen to feel an intense itch, subconsciously straightening his spine and leaning forward.

Ye Cheng suddenly let out a laugh, offering a bit of a sigh:

“I feel as though I’ve raised a child.”

Tang Chen immediately turned his head to glare at him:

“Are you looking for a beating?!”

Ye Cheng laughed softly, tightly cradling the waist of the person in his embrace. His emotions experienced an unprecedented relaxation and tranquility—exceedingly wonderful.

It felt… if things kept going on like this forever, it would be quite nice.
