Everyone has their own ambitions, and so do monsters

Chapter 11 Part 31,905 words16 min read

Unable to distinguish directions, his senses were a chaotic mess. His outstretched hand unexpectedly grasped something, but it wasn’t the longed-for coat. It was a person’s hand.

“Help me!!” The middle-aged woman roared, as if clutching hope, and without a word, swiftly pulled Xiaoxin into a tight embrace.

“Guh-wah!”

He felt his ribs might shatter, but that wasn’t the worst of it. He plummeted from mid-air, crashing into the checkout counter. With a *crack*—he couldn’t tell if it was his bones or something else—Xiaoxin’s slender body was used as a cushioning pad for the fall.

“Good! Saved!” Without even a thank you, the female store employee, after safely landing, immediately scrambled off Xiaoxin. Seeing Xiaoxin’s face was near her chest, she ignored whether he was injured from falling from the sky and serving as a human cushion, cursed him as a “pervert,” slapped him, and then bolted away.

Xiaoxin, on the other hand, had been flung merely ten meters high. While the fall itself would have caused minor pain, being crushed beneath the crazy woman as a human cushion left him in such agony he nearly fainted. The subsequent, inexplicable slap then knocked him from the checkout counter to the floor.

Alarms blared in his ears. One side of the mall wall had been completely ripped away. A colossal beastly monster now made its appearance, its piercing, mournful roar shaking the earth. A humanoid monster, its female silhouette composed of countless discarded white plastic mannequins, stood tall in the night—a six-armed, four-legged, plastic-textured monstrosity, bizarre and absurd.

“Ugh… *cough cough*…” He struggled to use the corner of the checkout counter to stand, but his feet suddenly slipped, almost sending him tumbling again.

‘Damn it, I’m really quite injured.’

But it was insignificant. As long as he didn’t die, a secret transformation would erase all damage, just like when he fought Gast last time.

“Cousin! Hold on!” Just then, his cousin returned.

“Why didn’t you run! Don’t come back!”

“I can’t just abandon you, cousin!”

‘You should abandon me!’

Xiaoxin complained inwardly.

While the colossal monster stretched over forty meters, a size Xiaoxin as a Magical Girl had never encountered, using his Magical Girl powers to escape would still be more than enough. Gigantic monsters were actually quite rare recently. Though enormous and destructive, they also drew significant attention, making them, to some extent, easier to track and eliminate than human-sized freaks.

“Why!! Discarded goods! Why!! Useless! Why was I made!? Why! Why!!”

A tremendous resentment. The emergence and birth of all monsters in the world inevitably stemmed from humanity’s negative emotions. And without a doubt, this colossal monster before them was born from being abandoned and despised by others.

Object-based behemoths or freaks are created by implanting a negative emotional thought energy, known as a ‘Demon Seed’, into two objects. This grants the objects a certain intelligence to perceive and stimulate negative energy, then the two attract and merge to form a brand new monster!

This creature before them was an obsolete model, discarded by its era, constantly accumulating negative energy from its eternal slumber in the mall’s underground recycling room. Simultaneously, a series of unpopular cards from the store were also imbued with the same negative emotional energy, the ‘Demon Seed’. The two attracted and combined, and the immense energy gave birth to this colossal beast!

Everyone else had already fled through the emergency exits. His cousin, supporting Xiaoxin, retreated step by step, secretly hoping this newborn behemoth would temporarily roar a little longer, buying them time to escape.

But fate intervened: its gaze swept over Xiaoxin, the one who had despised half of its soul, the one who had sold the cards for money.

Born for reasons unknown, feeling only pain, the monster’s remaining intelligence finally found its meaning in this instant—revenge!

“It’s you! It’s people like you! Despising us, despising our kin!”

Clearly, Xiaoxin, simply for selling six cards, had become the monster’s target and primary object of vengeance.

“Cousin, its target is me! You run! I’ll figure something out here!”

If his cousin left, he could immediately transform, easily countering or escaping. But…

“What can you possibly do! Cousin! Just… stay alive!” With that, his cousin hoisted Xiaoxin over her shoulder like a sack and bolted.

“Since you dare to despise me!! Let me show you what true strength looks like!!” Giving them no chance, the behemoth roared and slammed a fist down.

BANG!!! A heavy punch. For a monster forty meters tall, a mere human was insect-sized. With one punch, rubble flew, the entire floor was utterly pulverized and exploded, instantly filling the air with dust.

“Kill… Revenge!! Success…?”

No. As if in defiance, his cousin burst out of the smoke with incredibly agile footwork, her figure darting like a swift wind. Even falling debris was used as momentary stepping stones to leap higher.

Her footwork was astounding. It was hard to imagine that just a few years ago she was a battle tank, so obese she could barely move. Now, she moved like a swallow, constantly dodging among the ruins and dense rubble.

The original emergency exit had collapsed, forcing his cousin, still carrying Xiaoxin, to find another way out.

“Flee? How about this!!”

Seeing its punch miss, the model beast naturally wouldn’t give them another chance. All six of its arms rose, then unleashed a flurry of continuous punches!

They say the larger a creature, the slower its movements, like elephants or whales. But this creature seemed completely unrestrained by such common sense. With six arms, it hammered down dozens of punches like a machine gun!

BANG BANG BANG BANG!! A barrage of wild punches continuously pierced and dismantled the entire building. If not for its sturdy framework and foundational structure, the mall might have instantly turned into ruins.

Each punch possessed terrifying power. Even with his cousin’s exceptional agility, a single hit would utterly pulverize her fragile body. The extraordinary speed of her continuous evasions caused the scenery before Xiaoxin to flash repeatedly, the rapid visual shifts making him dizzy and nauseous.

‘This is torture.’

“Put me down! Cousin! You’ll only drag yourself down!” Even in his pathetic state, he tried to persuade her. After all, if this frantic dodging continued, he’d be sick to death even if he wasn’t beaten to death.

Dodging a punch, his cousin, aware of the ground’s threat, executed a high jump to clear the attacking fist, then landed on the monster’s arm and sprinted upwards.

“Never! Because… because…”

Astonished, the model monster quickly retracted its arm, not daring to delay, and swiftly swung its arm to grab the darting human.

Unable to catch her, his cousin, with her more flexible and swift physique, easily cleared the obstacle, then twisted in mid-air, reaching inside her clothes. Amidst the surging movement of her chest, his cousin ripped off something white.

Underwear! It was underwear!! And an E-cup size! Xiaoxin’s already weak body stiffened, his eyes widening in astonishment.

“Because I still want to eat the food my cousin makes! Break it for me! Underwear Anti-Wolf Sword!!” The moment she leaped onto its shoulder, the underwear twisted and extended, transforming into a five-meter-long white greatsword. Without hesitation, she aimed it at the plastic neck and delivered a horizontal slash.

‘Mimicry Armament’—an expensive type of weapon that normally disguised itself as an everyday item. When its owner needed or called for it, it would automatically transform into its original form.

While the monster was enormous, its body structure wasn’t composed of powerful scales or rough, strong skin and muscle. Although it was a massive accumulation of plastic models, it was ultimately just plastic products. How could it withstand a sword capable of cutting through even rock walls?

SWISH—! CRUNCH!

It sliced in, but then got stuck midway. She couldn’t cut further or pull it out. Just as the sword was about to cleave the beast’s head, it channeled powerful magic within its body to instantly reinforce its neck, rapidly repairing and hardening it, jamming the weapon in place.

They needed to run. Without hesitation, his cousin was about to retreat when something pulled her. Looking down, the model mannequins that constituted its body were activated and revived, grabbing his cousin’s legs and refusing to let go. Their eyes glowing red, they pulled out from its shoulders. More and more small monsters surrounded the two. Even without the giant body personally intervening, these minions, forming part of the monster’s body, were enough to eliminate the unarmed pair.

Seeing his cousin’s distressed expression, Xiaoxin still couldn’t break free from her grip. His physical condition was too weak. How could his cousin, using only one arm, fight them off?

He couldn’t fight. He conjured a key from his hand, hesitating repeatedly, but exposure was better than death.

SWOOSH! A red meteor shot through the air.

BANG!!! It landed with a deafening crash, several times louder than the monster’s appearance. Xiaoxin involuntarily stopped, the ground shook violently as if about to be flung into the air by this immense power. Even the model beast swayed, unable to stand firm. The entire ground shattered and cracked, surrounding rubble flying over twenty meters. Smoke billowed and spread, and from within it emerged two beams of white light, revealing the colossal form of a giant god.

“Ah! It’s Ultraman! We’re saved!” Xiaoxin exclaimed involuntarily.

A warrior from a distant planet in the cosmos, a fighting race dedicated to maintaining cosmic balance and protecting intelligent life from anomalous monsters—a giant hero imbued with divinity, supreme wisdom, and unparalleled strength!

Though their sizes were not vastly different, the model beast felt terror from just a single conscious force, like a newborn bird encountering an eagle. It instinctively recoiled two steps. The ripple of this consciousness caused the mannequin arms wrapped around his cousin’s legs to shatter instantly. Then, a white light enveloped the two, delivering them to safe ground behind it.

“Safe…? Phew, that’s wonderful.” His cousin sighed, slumping onto the ground. She had believed death was certain, but miraculously, they had escaped.

Her angry actions, her rash decision to confront the enemy to protect her cousin, had almost led to disaster. Now that both were safe, the only regrettable thing, perhaps, was that her underwear remained stuck in the monster’s neck.

“D-damn it, even if you are Ultraman, coming to Earth must have consumed a lot of your power. How long can you last now!” Still afraid, possessing intelligence meant possessing emotions. Perhaps to dispel its fear, it used one of its special powers to instantly connect to the network, learning the weaknesses of its targeted enemy.

Giant Ultramen could not sustain their energy for too long on Earth. Without supplementary support or assistance from a human host, they were unsuitable for prolonged combat.

“But none of that matters! That’s Ultraman, he’s invincible! How could a mere monster made of industrial plastic waste have any chance of fighting him!” Xiaoxin still yelled excitedly, completely disregarding the scornful glances from those around him.

After all, this was his dream. If he hadn’t once believed he could become Ultraman’s human host, he wouldn’t have been reduced to wielding a disguised magic wand and being a Magical Girl for ten years.

“Five minutes of Earth time. I will use this time to end your wickedness!”

A formidable aura swept forth, and the battle of giants now began.
