The scream that rang out as Moon Kyungsik and Seong Chanyeong fell from the terrace came from the alphas who arrived too late.
“What the hell is happening?!”
As Chanyeong had instructed beforehand, Baek Dojun, Yoo Yiseo, Chae Yoonchan, Joo Taegang, Chairman Seong Gongun, and Secretary Choi had all planned to rush upstairs the moment they heard a disturbance.
But something stopped them.
It felt as though an invisible pressure was crushing them in place.
“It’s like… time stopped.”
The employees inside the house remained completely frozen, motionless like statues.
Only the alphas, Chairman Seong Gongun, and Secretary Choi could still move or speak.
And the thing blocking them—
were the Black Hands.
They emerged suddenly out of empty air, wrapping around their bodies with terrifying force. Even the alphas couldn’t break free.
“What the f*ck are these things?!”
“If something happens to Seong Chanyeong—”
The alphas panicked for the first time in years.
“He trusted us.”
No matter how much strength they used, the Black Hands wouldn’t budge.
At this point, nobody believed this was coincidence anymore.
Moon Kyungsik—
No, the real Seong Chanyeong—
had to be connected somehow.
“Moon Kyungsik is still an alpha!” Chae Yoonchan snarled. “And Chanyeong’s a recessive omega! If they fight alone—”
Even pinned helplessly to the floor like dried fish beneath the Black Hands, their thoughts remained fixed entirely on Chanyeong.
Moon Kyungsik had already harmed him once.
What if this time was worse?
“Damn it! They won’t loosen!”
The Black Hands clung to them mercilessly.
No matter how violently they struggled, they couldn’t even free a single finger.
For the first time in their lives, the alphas felt truly powerless.
“Chanyeong-ssi!”
Then suddenly—
someone managed to break through.
Seo Eunsu.
Pushing past the Black Hands inch by inch, he forced himself into Chanyeong’s room while General barked furiously beside him.
“Woof! Woof!”
But unlike Seo Eunsu, General couldn’t fully break through. The Black Hands still pressed him to the ground along with the others.
“What the hell?” Chae Yoonchan stared. “How can Seo Eunsu move?”
“Because he’s an extreme dominant alpha?” someone muttered.
“…I’m an extreme dominant alpha too,” Yoo Yiseo replied irritably.
Chae Yoonchan blinked.
“You… when was the last time I saw you without that fake relaxed smile?”
“So noisy,” Yoo Yiseo snapped. “Find a way to fix this already.”
For the first time in a long while, the calm mask Yoo Yiseo always wore had completely shattered.
And honestly—
he hated this feeling.
Being powerless.
Being unable to protect someone important.
It dragged him back to the helpless fear he used to feel as a child under his stepmother and stepbrother.
What if Seong Chanyeong dies?
The thought alone made him feel sick.
He never realized caring about someone this much could hurt so badly.
“…f*ck.”
Then, without hesitation, Yoo Yiseo dropped to the floor and started crawling forward.
It was humiliating.
Pathetic.
But he didn’t care anymore.
I can’t lose him.
That single thought drove him onward.
His fingernails scraped harshly against the floor as he dragged himself forward.
Seeing him do it, the others abandoned their pride too.
One by one, the alphas crawled desperately toward Chanyeong’s room, trying to get even a little closer.
It was the only thing they could do.
At least let us do as much as Seo Eunsu…
Jealousy felt meaningless in a moment like this.
Ironically, they now placed all their hope in the rival they usually disliked.
Then suddenly—
“It’s gone!”
The Black Hands vanished.
Without wasting another second, every alpha sprinted upstairs.
Please be safe.
They weren’t asking for much.
Just let him be unharmed.
Let him wake up grumpy and sarcastic like usual.
Because we know he’s never actually been sweet to us.
Still—
wasn’t it okay to want someone you liked to live safely?
But what greeted them upstairs was Seo Eunsu collapsed in blood—
and beyond the shattered terrace railing—
Seong Chanyeong and Moon Kyungsik falling together.
“No—!”
“SEONG CHANYEONG!”
They couldn’t even reach out in time.
All they could do was watch helplessly as he fell.
“Bark! Bark bark bark!”
General suddenly broke free and rushed forward, barking wildly.
The two bodies were only seconds away from hitting the ground headfirst.
Then—
“…Huh?”
Everyone froze.
Instead of a sickening crash—
there was nothing.
Like feathers drifting onto soft fabric, the two falling bodies suddenly slowed midair before gently landing on the ground.
“What… am I looking at?” Chairman Seong Gongun muttered blankly. “Am I finally senile?”
Even Secretary Choi looked shaken, though he was already calling the hospital for Seo Eunsu.
“Senile? Hardly,” Secretary Choi answered automatically. “You’re healthier than most men half your age.”
“Is this really the time for that?!”
“We need to stay calm. Panicking won’t help anyone.”
The others finally snapped back to themselves.
Baek Dojun, Yoo Yiseo, Chae Yoonchan, and Joo Taegang rushed downstairs immediately, with General hurrying after them on his tiny legs.
The scene they found below was bizarrely peaceful.
Just moments ago, Moon Kyungsik and Chanyeong had been trying to kill each other.
Now both lay unconscious, breathing quietly like sleeping children.
“…They don’t seem badly injured,” Chae Yoonchan murmured after checking Chanyeong over carefully. “They’re just unconscious.”
After Joo Taegang tightly tied Moon Kyungsik up with rope, Baek Dojun carefully lifted Chanyeong into his arms.
“Chanyeong-ah…”
No response.
His body hung limp.
“He probably lost consciousness from shock,” Yoo Yiseo said quietly. “We should still take him to the hospital.”
But Baek Dojun looked genuinely terrified.
“What if he doesn’t wake up?” he whispered. “What if it’s like last time?”
Silence fell.
“If Chanyeong doesn’t wake up, then I…”
“Stop talking like that,” Yoo Yiseo interrupted sharply. “We should focus on what we can do. Chanyeong isn’t weak.”
He clenched his fists tightly.
“I don’t fully understand what’s happening either. But I believe he’ll survive this.”
“…Yeah.”
For someone like Yoo Yiseo, trusting another person so completely was rare.
But right now, he desperately wanted to believe.
The others silently felt the same.
General never left Chanyeong’s side.
Not during the ambulance ride.
Not at the hospital.
The small white puppy guarded him stubbornly the entire time.
And when the alphas saw it, none of them tried to pull him away.
Because their choice had been correct.
The reason Chanyeong and Moon Kyungsik survived the fall unharmed—
was because unseen White Hands appeared the moment General barked.
…What happened?
I fought with the real Seong Chanyeong inside Moon Kyungsik’s body.
Then we fell.
“—Gasp!”
I jolted upright.
No pain.
My body felt completely fine.
And beside me—
the real Seong Chanyeong lay there too.
Except this time, he looked like himself.
“…Ugh.”
What is this? Another dream space?
I clearly wasn’t dead.
And I definitely didn’t have the magical ability to forcibly eject souls from bodies either.
So this had to be some kind of bizarre mental world.
That would explain why I also looked like my original self again.
The entire space around us was pure white.
Empty.
Only Seong Chanyeong and I existed here.
Trying to process the situation, I kicked him lightly with my foot.
Honestly, it felt weird because it was technically the body I had transmigrated into.
It almost felt like kicking myself.
Still, I refused to wake him gently with my hands.
I disliked him too much for that.
“Hey. Wake up. If it’s not you, there’s nobody here who can explain this.”
“…Ugh. Who are you?”
“Who else?” I scoffed. “The thief you kept screaming about.”
“…What?”
Still groggy, Seong Chanyeong blinked in confusion.
Then realization hit him.
“You bastard,” he snarled. “You dare wear my body? I finally got it back—”
Smack!
I slapped him hard without hesitation.
All the resentment I’d been suppressing poured into it.
“OW! Did you just hit me?!”
“You can wave knives around and try murdering people, but I can’t slap you?”
Smack.
“Then take another one.”
“Ah—!”
Without Moon Kyungsik’s alpha body, Seong Chanyeong was physically weaker than me now.
That only made me angrier.
Fueled by every ounce of frustration I’d bottled up, I grabbed him by the collar and shook him violently.
“Stop! Stop hitting me!”
“Where’d all that confidence go, huh?! Where’s the crazy bastard who kept giving me nightmares and trying to kill me?!”
“T-That was the only way!”
“Who told you that?! Whose idea was this?! Look at the mess we’re in now because of you!”
I hated this white space.
The hospital memories kept resurfacing again and again.
I wanted out.
Immediately.
“Tell me everything,” I demanded. “Everything you know.”
I tightened my grip on his collar hard enough to make myself feel sick.
Then suddenly—
“Woof!”
“…Huh?”
I froze.
General?
“Woof woof!”
Why the hell was he here?
