“Miss Isa, I’ve brought all the medicinal herbs you requested.”
A maid from the castle, holding a tray, entered the room where Isa and the others were. On it were several ingredients needed for the tracking potion.
Fluorescent Mushrooms, Woven-leaf Pine Needles, and Silverleaf Herb—two portions of each were prepared according to Isa’s request.
She was worried that, using the Ring of Pride for the first time, she wouldn’t be able to properly coordinate the recovery effect with the rhythm of potion brewing, so she asked for an extra portion as a backup.
“Philly, please guard the door for me. I need to brew a potion that Her Highness Su Ran needs.”
Hearing this, Philly nodded. The plants outside the room were spreading across the window to create an absolutely safe space for Isa.
Seeing Philly finish this, Isa picked up a Fluorescent Mushroom and used her witch talent to break it down into the components she wanted.
Compared to ordinary witches who need to process materials through complex procedures to get the ingredients they want, Isa only needed to hold the materials in her hand to extract them directly, which was obviously much more convenient.
Gradually, a pale yellow crystal was extracted from the Fluorescent Mushroom by Isa and placed on a tray nearby for later use.
Next, she extracted the necessary components from the other two main herbs and the supplementary herbs in the same way.
The variously shaped components were laid out in front of Isa. Seeing the sun outside the window slowly moving westward, she knew she needed to hurry.
In the process of extracting the medicinal components, she gradually mastered the recovery rhythm of the ring.
With the preparatory work finished, it was time to begin the actual potion brewing.
Starting again with the crystal extracted from the Fluorescent Mushroom, Isa added various supplementary herbs, fusing them little by little with her talent.
The original pale yellow crystal turned into a pool of dark red, viscous liquid. It felt like a meat soup that was gradually cooling, still stirrable but with a noticeable resistance.
During this process, Isa’s magic essence was being consumed at a rapid rate. Both controlling the fusion of the components and isolating the reaction required the support of magic essence.
Fortunately, with the magic essence recovery provided by the Ring of Pride, the magic essence in Isa’s body could be replenished in a timely manner.
Philly, standing to the side, watched Isa’s potion-brewing process. Although Isa’s witch ability couldn’t be used for combat, having a witch like Isa on their side, who could efficiently brew potions, was an unimaginable boost to their combat effectiveness.
When Isa prepared to add the last two main ingredients, she reached the point that truly required concentration.
The reaction speeds of the three main herbs were all different. Isa needed to consume a large amount of magic essence to maintain their stability before the reaction. Then, she would use her talent to fuse them together to finally obtain the tracking potion she wanted.
The white powder representing the Woven-leaf Pine Needles entered the dark red liquid and instantly solidified into red particles.
Faced with this situation, Isa’s expression did not change. The Ring of Pride was still recovering her magic essence; Isa had not yet lost control of this pool of medicinal liquid.
The red particles continuously dissolved into the liquid as it boiled, causing the color of the entire pool of liquid to lighten. Isa slowly let out a breath.
According to the feedback from her witch talent, she was now only one step away from success. By adding the juice extracted from the Silverleaf Herb, she could obtain the finished tracking potion.
The process of brewing the potion was much easier than Isa had imagined. At least so far, there were no signs of failure with the first batch of materials.
Isa was able to adapt to the rhythm of the Ring of Pride’s magic essence recovery.
Adding the pale green extract of the Silverleaf Herb to the medicinal liquid, the entire pool of liquid began to boil.
However, this was already within Isa’s expectations. Her fair, slender arm did not lower; she increased her magic essence output, using all her strength to suppress the boiling to prevent it from happening too quickly and causing the brewing to fail.
Her witch ability also operated at full speed at this time, accelerating the fusion of the medicinal liquid.
Fortunately, with Isa’s full effort, she successfully brewed the tracking potion.
Isa didn’t waste the extra materials either, putting them all away for future use.
For her, who was used to living a poor life, she couldn’t afford to be wasteful even when suddenly faced with so many herbs, maintaining the good habit of diligence and thrift.
Isa found a bottle to store the finished tracking potion. The Ring of Pride in her hand disappeared right after she finished brewing the potion, apparently having automatically returned to Her Highness Su Ran’s hand.
Sending the magic potion to Her Highness Su Ran’s side in the usual way, Isa wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Only then did she let out a sigh of relief.
“It’s getting late. We should go back and find Maimai.”
After packing everything up, Isa prepared to leave the castle with Philly.
It was nearly noon when the two of them had come out. After experiencing so much, it was time to go back to the forest cabin.
Even though they had accepted Lord Hayden’s commission, in their subconscious, they still believed that Her Highness Su Ran’s forest cabin was the safest place.
Faced with Isa and Philly’s request to leave, Hayden didn’t say much, just calmly waved his hand for them to leave.
…no obstruction, only telling them that preparing the carriage and documents would still take some time.
He also wanted to spend this last bit of time with Canlisa. After all, once she went to Tukulu, there was no telling when they would meet again.
After agreeing on a departure date, Isa and Philly were led out of Blackstone City by the butler, Sant.
Just as Isa had received the Ring of Pride, in the Holy City of the Theocracy.
An old man, sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed, now opened them and muttered to himself, “Was that the aura of a Soul Vessel that just appeared for an instant? Otherwise, why would the magic array in front of me flash with light? And from the looks of it, it’s one of the Soul Vessels that had been missing.”
When the old man wanted to inject magic essence into the magic array to enhance his perception, he found that the magic array was as if it had never glowed, and he couldn’t detect any trace of the Soul Vessel at all.
“Could it be that this magic array is malfunctioning?”
After checking the magic array once more, the old man slowly shook his head. Perhaps it was just a similar aura.
He then stopped thinking about the light that had just appeared.
Su Ran returned to Jiangbei City. Winnie drove her from the police station back home, preparing to help her pack her luggage and move to the Sakura Cafe dormitory.
Due to the attack, Winnie was exceptionally cautious along the way, afraid that an enemy would appear halfway.
Riding in Winnie’s car back to her building, Su Ran had a strange sense of unease after getting out.
She just didn’t realize where this feeling of unease was coming from.
A sudden coldness in her palm made her open it to see the Ring of Pride lying quietly in her hand.
This also meant that Isa no longer needed to use the ring, so the tracking potion she wanted must have been completed.
