After putting away the two medicines, Ping Chengcheng left the laboratory.
Standing in the somewhat open space of the sewage treatment plant, a cool night breeze gently blew.
In the distance, in the twilight, was the phoenix statue, one of A City’s landmarks.
Ping Chengcheng suddenly remembered that when she was first reborn, she had left from here, was chased by zombies, and then met Song Ning driving the Sabretooth.
“Sister…”
“With these, I won’t turn into a monster…”
She looked down at the suitcase, where the two medicines were safely stored inside.
However, if she used the X Virus Inhibitor, would she lose all her abilities?
Without those abilities, would she still be able to protect her sister properly?
The apocalypse was so dangerous… What if Song Ning got hurt without her protection?
Oh well… as long as she got her hands on that advanced individual exoskeleton armor, she believed that with Song Ning’s abilities, she could also match some common Variants.
Even if she encountered even more powerful Variants, it wasn’t necessarily impossible to escape.
Even if it was really unavoidable… wasn’t there still the X Virus Catalyst?
At that time, what if she really became a monster?
She would let Song Ning live.
Just like in her previous life…
She sacrificed her life for her.
She wondered if Song Ning was awake yet?
She had to go back quickly.
Although it was only a little past twelve o’clock, Ping Chengcheng was still afraid of Song Ning finding out that she was gone.
If she was discovered, it would definitely cause even more suspicion.
A red streak of light traveled quickly through the city.
In just over ten minutes, Ping Chengcheng arrived in front of the hotel where the team was stationed.
The girl stood on an old, rusty street lamp, seeing a young woman’s figure flickering in the distance.
After carefully examining it for a moment, it seemed to be Zheng Zhiyi.
This guy was still training here?
Ping Chengcheng curled her lips.
The Flesh Worm?
With the girl’s current abilities, she could probably only barely fight it to a draw.
Perhaps it was because of the night, but Ping Chengcheng’s blood-red eyes were a little blurry.
The two people looked at each other for a moment, but neither of them spoke.
The girl’s figure flashed, leaping towards a window on the fourth floor of the hotel.
After entering the bedroom, Ping Chengcheng felt a chill in her heart.
Where did Song Ning go!?
Could it be that she woke up in the middle of the night and discovered that Ping Chengcheng was missing, so she was looking for her nearby?
The girl immediately became anxious in her heart.
She casually put on a change of clothes that she had brought with her and pushed open the door to the suite.
A long, dark corridor.
The girl quickly ran through it.
“Sister? Sister, where are you?”
A sense of palpitations suddenly appeared from her heart.
The girl stopped and covered her heart.
What was happening?
Why did she have this strange feeling?
She looked around, and then searched the hotel for a while, but there was no sign of Song Ning.
Where did Song Ning go!?
A drop of cold sweat dripped down Ping Chengcheng’s forehead.
If Song Ning found out that she had disappeared, where would she go?
Would she ask Ye Yin first?
Possibly.
She would ask Ye Yin and see.
She strode through a dark corridor and came to Ye Yin’s door, forcefully knocking on the door.
“Open the door!”
There was a rustling sound inside, and the sound of dragging footsteps, but Ping Chengcheng couldn’t care less.
She suddenly kicked the door open!
A loud noise echoed in the hotel.
Ye Yin was rubbing his eyes, looking in astonishment at the girl with frightening red eyes standing in front of the door.
“Huh? Ping Chengcheng, you, what the hell are you doing not sleeping in the middle of the night?”
But the girl’s face was as gloomy as could be.
Like a gust of wind, she suddenly arrived in front of Ye Yin, startling him.
“I’m asking you, do you know where Song Ning went!?”
Song Ning?
He swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
“Hey, I, how would I know?”
“Help me find her! Song Ning, where is she!? Find her!” The girl’s voice sounded violent and full of baleful energy, and her blood-red eyes trembled faintly.
“Where did Song Ning go! Where did she go!”
Ping Chengcheng suddenly lowered her head, making a low and bleak laugh.
She supported herself on the cold wall that had been painted a pale white, and her delicate body couldn’t help but tremble.
“Sister… Did Sister run away? So sad! So sad! Does Sister not like her anymore? No! Sister, no matter where you are, I won’t let you go!”
Ye Yin looked at all of this with some fear, and then returned to the bedroom, taking out his walkie-talkie.
“All of you, stop sleeping!”
“The commander’s sister is missing! Quickly search this area for me! And the Special Operations Team! Use your biohazard mode to search the nearby area for me!”
“Did you hear me, find her!”
The still quiet hotel suddenly became a bit noisy.
Soon, the sound of doors opening and some footsteps appeared in the corridor.
Many people, with sleepy faces, searched for “the commander’s sister” with a blank expression.
“What’s the commander’s sister’s name?” someone asked.
Ping Chengcheng looked at these people with cold eyes, her voice a little trembling, “Her name is Song Ning.”
Soon, calls rang out in the hotel, but Ping Chengcheng understood, “Song Ning has, in all likelihood, gone directly outside, not staying in the hotel.”
But A City was so big, where could she find Song Ning?
And what if Song Ning went somewhere else?
“Damn it… Even if it’s difficult to find, I have to find her!”
She suddenly turned around, clenched her fists tightly, and quickly returned to the bedroom she shared with Song Ning, taking the X Virus Inhibitor with her.
Her head was splitting with pain, and her sanity was being devoured by madness.
At this moment, she was almost completely relying on her willpower to endure the bewitching, crazy murmurs in her heart.
‘Sister… I will definitely find you!’
Just as she was about to climb out the window again, suddenly, a young woman’s shout rang out from behind her:
“Wait, Ping Chengcheng! I know where she might have gone!”
The girl trembled all over, her eyes shining with mist, and turned her head to look.
It was Zheng Zhiyi, standing at the door covered in sweat, her eyes a little evasive, but with a trace of hope.
“Tonight, when I was training outside the hotel, I saw Song Ning jump out of the window and head south towards the city!”
South?
“Um, if you find Song Ning, can you help me kill that Flesh Worm?!”
Ping Chengcheng stared at Zheng Zhiyi’s face with her scarlet eyes, making Zheng Zhiyi feel flustered.
Suddenly, Ping Chengcheng’s bewitching voice was as sweet as a silver bell.
“If what you said is true, it’s not impossible.”
“But I can’t guarantee it. To be honest, I’m about to lose control of myself and lose my mind.”
What!?
Hearing Ping Chengcheng’s words, Zheng Zhiyi’s face turned pale.
The girl didn’t stay any longer and jumped out of the hotel window.
She landed lightly on the ground and then turned into a blood-red streak of light and sped away.
“Hey! What did you just say!”
Ye Yin, with a look of horror, appeared at the door of the suite, panting.
Zheng Zhiyi turned her head to look back strangely.
“South of the city! Do you know… the Chimera Composite has appeared in the south of the city!”
Zheng Zhiyi’s eyes widened!
Wu Sheng also rushed over and heard the conversation between the two.
He looked left and right, glanced at the pushed-open window, gritted his teeth fiercely, and took three steps in two steps.
In the surprised gazes of the two, he jumped down.
Wearing his exoskeleton, he fell heavily to the bottom of the building, but he didn’t get up in pain.
Instead, he ran towards the Kamaz parked in front of the hotel.
Although he understood that he might not be of any use in the past… he had to go!
Ping Chengcheng had saved him, and he couldn’t just ignore it!
