Chapter 12615 words6 min read

With the arrival of the maid in charge of taking care of Kefir—Miss Nilu—the strange atmosphere in the room completely changed.

Like a secret newlywed base suddenly refreshed.

As expected of Kefir’s maid, Nilu looked delicate but was full of energy—especially in the chest area.

She easily cleaned up, rearranged furniture, and swapped out dim magic stones for new glowing ones.

The room became much brighter and more alive.

Of course, this meant no more “accidental cuddles” with Kefir.

I got kicked to the sofa.

The bed? Reserved for Kefir and Nilu.

Well, that was expected.

Try to chase Nilu away because her script says she’ll kill me?

No chance.

Kefir clearly likes her.

So, new plan.

To stop this revenge-protagonist from leveling up…

…I’ll stick to her like glue!

The next day.

Right now on the town streets, everything looked peaceful.

But to me? Danger was everywhere.

“I was just going out for groceries,” Nilu said shyly.

“You didn’t have to come with me…”

“It’s fine,” I replied. “We live together now. I should help.”

Also—I can’t let this protagonist walk into a power-up event alone.

Nilu beamed. “You’re so kind! You’re nothing like that infamous villain from the rumors!”

Haha…

Yeah, that’s me. The walking death flag.

Before I could feel awkward—

Cough cough!

Kefir pushed between us.

Her glare was sharp.

“Charlatan.”

“Yes, ma’am!”

One word and I’ll obey!

Heaven, hell—doesn’t matter!

“I’ll be staying at the base from now on,” she said coldly.

“If you think you’re making money off me—think again.”

What did I do!?

I’m here for redemption, not riches!

Anyway, it’s weird.

Kefir has big “chosen one” vibes…

…but her life feels oddly normal.

“Miss, aren’t you going back?” Nilu asked.

“Not for now,” Kefir replied, looking away.

Huh…

But I had no time to think further—

Because it happened.

A white-bearded old man in a cloak appeared before us.

Eyes locked on Nilu.

“Young lady, would you—”

“LIKE YOUR HEAD GONE, GRANDPA?!”

I lunged in front of Nilu.

This is it. A classic “receive ancient power” event!

[Nilu receives a secret manual from a mysterious elder.]

Nope. Not today.

“I don’t care what you’re offering!” I barked.

“Leave her alone!”

Then—

A white-haired old lady appeared next to Kefir and Nilu!

“Sweetie, do you like this shiny sword? Grandma will give it to you free!”

[Nilu receives the sword that kills Euclid.]

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?

I bolted over and shoved myself between them.

“No thanks!”

I grabbed both girls’ hands and dragged them away!

Once we reached safety, I sighed in relief.

That was close…

Two separate power-up attempts in one stroll!?

Nilu blinked in confusion.

“Mr. Euclid… Thank you! I never know how to deal with them…”

“It’s fine,” I said. “I’ll use ‘prophecies’ to drive them off from now on.”

But then I felt a chill.

Kefir was staring at me.

Hard.

“Your ‘prophecies’ are awfully kind to Nilu…”

“It’s just teamwork!” I said quickly.

“Don’t overthink it!”

“I’m not…”

Yep, definitely overthinking it.

Please don’t fire me from your party.

“I really just want to help.”

“Oh, right,” I added. “Tonight, can you teach me how the contract magic works?”

She paused, then nodded slightly.

“We’ll see.”

Yes! Still holding on to the protagonist’s thigh!

Sure, this trip was intense.

But at least I dodged two death flags today.

Let’s hope nothing else pops up—

“Mr. Euclid… I think there’s another weird old man ahead…”

NOOOO—AGAIN!?
