Chapter 12: First Raid(1)

The Deron Gallery started to burn.

Posts about a certain raid leader, now more famous as the “Kids Raid Leader” rather than by the nickname “Yeon,” began to go up at a frightening speed.

Everyone was skeptical.

Last night, after a conversation between SingSing and this raid leader was publicly revealed, a duel was arranged.

Everyone thought that the raid leader wouldn’t show up.

It was a battle he could only lose.

A natural assumption.

But he came.

He came alone and accepted the duel.

And he took down the holy knight of the SingSing Guild.

A holy knight is resilient like a cockroach.

People expected a long battle given it was a fight between holy knights.

But it was different.

Fast and precise.

The small girl’s sword burst the holy knight’s head.

As the events unfolded, interest exploded.

With so many people on the scene, a flood of screenshots followed.

Her cute customization, arrogant remarks, and the skill to back up that arrogance.

The fire was intense.

The nickname “Kids Raid Leader” changed to “Middle-School Raid Leader” after her announcement of military service.

[Real-Time Middle-School Leader’s Second Duel…] [7]

The second duel began.

Everyone thought, “It’s okay if she loses this time.”

The momentum was on her side.

Everyone knew that even if the raid leader, posing as a middle-school girl, lost, she would face no damage to her reputation.

She had already become famous.

Recruiting members for her raid would be easy.

But.

[Did Middle-School Leader Finish Recruiting?] [7]

[Hahㅋㅋ Holy Knight’s Head Chopped Off ㅋㅋ] [15]

She claimed victory in the second duel as well.

It was just as overwhelming in speed as the first.

The opinion that her initial win was mere luck began to fade.

[Just trash!!! Pathetic!!!] [21]

[Isn’t that Wizard a PvP Ranker?] [17]

[SingSing Ice Mage Ranked 25 in Arena] [67]

The third duel commenced without a break.

Everyone expected defeat, as the opponent was an arena-ranking ice mage.

But once again, expectations were overturned.

[Did she react to the mage’s blink?]

[Seems like it. Her gaze follows when the mage shifts focus.]

[Is that even possible?]

[I can do that too]

[Is this a pro smurf?]

[Looks like a pro, right?]

[Will she make the first clear for the raid?]

[But that seems hard, doesn’t it?]

[If I were an orc warrior, I’d die just for her]

After the events, the middle-school raid leader left the scene.

But the gallery remained heated.

Multiple posts analyzing the uploaded videos and the middle-school raid leader’s customization took over the popular posts.

And users interested in the raid started to think about one possibility.

  • Could she actually make the first clear?

The raid leader’s skills had been proven.

A raid leader who slaughtered an arena-ranked mage with overwhelming ability.

Although she had only shown her prowess in PvP, it likely wouldn’t differ much in PvE.

Most members of the top raid parties were known for their PvP skills.

Applications for the raid surged.

Upon careful review of applicants, they managed to gather a 40-member raid.

Of course, since they hadn’t even attempted the first trial, members could be replaced at any time.

After setting up a group chat for the raid, she split the 30 wizards into three groups.

Then, she selected wizards with raid experience as the leader for each group.

It was a 40-person raid.

Since the raid leader couldn’t handle all the members alone, she chose this method.

The healer class was similarly grouped, with seven priests assigned under a main priest.

Finally, two remaining tanks.

She would focus her management on these two.

This raid required a strong tank line.

It was easier to focus by selecting fewer members.

With roles divided, the number of people she managed directly decreased, allowing her to fully concentrate on the raid.

She picked up her phone and started leaving a message in the chat room.

Although the conversation had already started without her, a raid leader had to speak with charisma and only say what was necessary.

-Raid Leader [Everyone, please review the strategy video. Don’t be late. Be here by 5:10 PM.]

  • Wizard Group Leader 1: “Hawawa Guild Leader, are you logging in after school?”
  • Priest Leader: “Do you really go to school, Guild Leader?”
  • Guild Leader: “Yes, I do go to school. I’ll log in as soon as I get home, so everyone, please don’t be late.”
  • Wizard Group Leader 2: “ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ School ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”

Is my going to school that funny?

I sighed while rubbing my forehead.

It was 3 PM, which meant I still had classes left.

“Hayeon.”

“Oh, Sohee.”

“What are you looking at?”

“Oh, just talking to some acquaintances…”

“I see.”

Sohee nodded at my answer and placed a small candy on my desk.

It was a chewy milk-flavored candy.

Sohee sometimes shared these sweet candies with her friends.

After school, I ran home without looking back.

As a result of my earnest sprinting, I managed to arrive home before 5 PM.

I logged into the game immediately.

My mom would be coming home late today, so there was no one to greet in the house.

Harang would probably also be stuck in a capsule like me.

As soon as I logged in, countless messages popped up.

From guild invitations to friend requests, I rejected them all.

I also cleared out my friend list, excluding the raid members.

At 4:55 PM, there was still time before the scheduled meeting.

I quickly opened the auction house and bought plenty of buffs and potions.

I bought not only for myself but also for others.

There must be someone who lacks buff items.

There are definitely people who, no matter how meticulous, make mistakes at least once.

As the raid leader, I had to be generously understanding.

In a raid of 40 people, there was always someone who forgot to prepare something.

Since there were many casual players, the prices for buff items and potions were low.

As the meeting time approached, I headed straight to the designated location.

The meeting place was the [Red Orc Empire], the furthest area from the Lunaris Capital.

With towering castle walls and red spires, and ominous objects scattered everywhere, my gaze was a bit overwhelmed.

There were no monsters; the entrance to the raid dungeon was a safe zone.

“The Guild Leader has arrived!”

Many people were already there at the meeting place.

Seeing them arrive early to prepare brought a smile to my face as the raid leader.

I waved my hand in greeting and sat on a large rock nearby.

Time passed, and a faint sense of expectation flowed in the eyes of those gathered here.

It was the raid leader’s role to turn that expectation into confidence.

As I was checking the tactics, the meeting time drew near.

I stood up and said, “Please check in with each job class and report.”

“Wizards Group 1, 10 members present.”

“Wizards Group 2, 10 members present.”

“Wizards Group 3, 9 members present.”

“Where did one go?”

“One person said they would be 2 minutes late due to work.”

Two minutes. An acceptable amount of time.

I nodded.

Since it was the first day, I needed to be a little lenient.

“All 7 priests are here~”

I nodded and looked around me.

How had they gotten so close?

Two knights clad in massive armor stood beside me.

“Total of 39 members… one is late… Once the others arrive, I’ll provide detailed explanations.”

As soon as I finished speaking, a wizard appeared in the distance, using Blink to approach.

“The last member has arrived.”

Thus, the 40-person raid was gathered.

“I believe everyone is familiar with the strategy.

If there are any unclear parts, please ask your job class leaders.

Looting will be handled directly by the raid leader.

Since we’re not going for a time attack, after we take down each named boss, we plan to auction off the dropped items for gold.”

“What is the starting bid for the auction?”

“Starting at 100 gold.

All items will be the same.

If you have any complaints, please speak up.”

There are bound to be complaints.

Whether it’s gold auctioning or point systems, those in larger job groups will face fierce competition.

But right now, no one would readily step forward.

I nodded and continued.

“Each named boss will yield one reward token per person for personal looting.

You all know that you can exchange 5 tokens for raid gear at the capital’s center.”

There’s a personal looting system.

Even if you don’t get any items, if you defeat all the named bosses, you can get one piece of raid gear each week.

However, only the final boss drops weapons and weapon-exclusive tokens.

In other words, no matter how diligently you run the raid, if you can’t defeat the final boss, you won’t be able to obtain the raid-exclusive weapon.

“Guild Leader.”

“Yes, go ahead.”

“Can we defeat the last boss?”

A short silence followed.

The one who asked the question was a wizard user who was already equipped with several pieces of raid gear.

I nodded. It was possible. I felt it the moment I watched the video.

If I were in that position, I could have defeated the final boss.

“We’re entering the dungeon. Everyone, please check your buffs.”

As soon as I finished speaking, everyone started using their buff items.

I also poured various alchemical potions into my mouth.

[40-Person Raid: Red Orc Empire]

Would you like to enter?

Upon entry, your ID will be bound to this dungeon.

YES/NO

There was no need to hesitate. The moment I lightly tapped on the YES that appeared in the air, I jumped up, kicking off the ground.

It was a natural action.

I repeated this behavior even when playing with a keyboard and mouse.

Jumping was the concept for entering.

Thud-

Once inside the dungeon, I looked back.

I could hear no sound of anyone else landing but my own.

All the raid members were watching me with wide eyes.

“Looks like the Guild Leader is excited.”

“He jumped in.”

“As expected of a middle school girl.”

W-what? Is there no such culture here?

I touched my flushed cheeks and turned my head away.
