“May our honored guests have fun and enjoy themselves.”
The male PRs who had not been chosen left the private room.
That left eight people behind—men and women together.
With fewer eyes on her, Lin Cheng let out a quiet sigh of relief.
But… the moment she turned her head, she could see the calm gaze of the boy in the plain white shirt looking at her.
The pressure was enormous…
“Hello.”
Even Xia Chen himself had not expected to be chosen.
But that wasn’t the key issue.
The key issue was—what exactly was he supposed to do now?
It seemed that woman named Ye Nuan had never told him.
It wasn’t that Xia Chen didn’t understand what PR work meant.
There was simply one problem.
The matter of boundaries.
Depending on how open the customer was, or what level of service was expected, the accepted limits varied.
It could be compared to jobs like KTV hostesses.
Some only allowed hugging.
Some allowed a little touching.
Some even allowed touching while kissing.
And those standards weren’t always fixed from person to person.
Xia Chen was no naïve fool.
He had enjoyed similar services before.
He had simply always found that kind of fake affection deeply annoying.
The first sentence should be a greeting… that shouldn’t be wrong, right?
Lin Cheng looked at the boy who had calmly said hello to her without even smiling, and felt speechless.
“…Hello.”
Lin Cheng was the kind of woman who could out-freeze anyone when she turned cold.
Honestly, this sort of interaction was exactly what she preferred.
Don’t bother me, and I won’t bother you either.
“Mm.”
And then… then…
What Lin Cheng never expected was this:
After saying that one sentence, the boy simply stopped.
No struggle to continue the conversation.
No attempt to win her over.
No effort whatsoever expected from someone in the service role.
More than that, he directly leaned back against the soft sofa and tilted his head upward comfortably.
What the hell?
She herself was still sitting upright properly on the sofa.
He was already lounging back?
Wait a second—was she paying him, or was he paying her?!
Lin Cheng was on the verge of collapse.
Noticing this scene, Little Su, who had intentionally sat closer to Xia Chen’s side, nudged his arm.
Xia Chen turned his head and saw Little Su winking furiously at him.
“What?
Are your eyes uncomfortable?”
Little Su froze.
Then lowered his voice and whispered,
“Don’t sit like that.
Even the customer isn’t sitting like that, you…”
“Sitting like this is comfortable.”
Still leaning against the sofa, Xia Chen looked at him calmly.
Little Su was stunned.
Lying down would be even more comfortable, so why don’t you just do that too?!
With no other choice, Little Su gritted his teeth.
“Fine.
You don’t know what to do, so just copy me.
Whatever I do, you do the same, okay?”
Xia Chen said nothing.
He merely gave him a calm glance, which was basically the same as giving nothing at all.
So Little Su turned around, stood up, grabbed a bottle of alcohol, opened it, and poured two glasses.
He handed one to the smiling Sun Yaming.
“Come, Sister Sun.
You honor us with your presence today, and you look so beautiful too.
Let me toast you first.”
“Haha, Little Su, you’re still as sweet as ever~”
Sun Yaming laughed cheerfully, took the glass, clinked it with his, and the two drank it down together.
Then Little Su shot Xia Chen a look, signaling him to do the same.
Xia Chen nodded.
He stopped leaning on the sofa and actually reached for a bottle.
Without using an opener, he simply flicked the cap off with two fingers.
And just when Little Su thought the boy had finally understood and could still be taught—
Xia Chen directly handed the full bottle to the utterly bewildered Lin Cheng and said matter-of-factly,
“Come, young lady.
You honor us with your presence today, and you’re so beautiful too.
I toast you with a whole bottle.
You drink as you like.
I’ll finish mine first.”
Lin Cheng and Little Su both stared at him in total shock.
Then they watched as the boy tilted his head back and began chugging straight from the bottle.
Glug glug glug.
What kind of freak was this?
Little Su completely broke down inside.
And Lin Cheng’s widened eyes gave her an unexpectedly adorable expression.
What she was thinking, however, was:
Was this guy here to accompany drinks… or scam free drinks?
Did he never get to drink in his previous life?!
