“Can’t I?” Li Luo whispered, her tender gaze fixed on the one she held beneath her.
Their eyes met.
Li Yin remained silent, her hands pinned above her head.
The grip was a little painful, yet her body inexplicably grew warm.
‘Did she want this? Or not?’
She herself didn’t know.
Her face burned; it must be flushed red.
Her heart pounded.
She had to turn her head away to avoid looking at the other, at least to ease some pressure.
“Not speaking means you agree.”
Li Luo’s brows relaxed and a smile curled at the corner of her mouth.
Then, like a hawk swooping on its prey, before Li Yin could react, their lips were already pressed tightly together.
The warmth radiating from Li Luo washed over her, striking Li Yin’s nerves like a thunderbolt.
“Mmm…”
Two slender snakes entwined in a cave, their sticky secretions mixing and blending.
Perhaps because it was forced, Li Yin’s body trembled slightly, but pinned down, she couldn’t move except for her calves.
“Mmm, ha—”
After a long while, Li Yin finally broke free.
In the silence, aside from the rain outside, only ragged breaths echoed in the room.
Time seemed to have paused here; both were immersed in the contours of desire from moments ago, unable to extricate themselves.
“Yinyin…”
Li Luo released her grip, unable to hide the doting in her hazy eyes.
“Don’t stare like that…”
To conceal her shyness, Li Yin covered her eyes with her arm.
But in Li Luo’s eyes, this gesture was seen as a tease, reigniting her desire.
She planned to go further.
Boom—
The sudden commotion from outside interrupted Li Luo’s actions.
Li Yin also moved her hand away at the sound, and the two looked at each other.
“Ah! A monster!” someone suddenly shouted amidst the noisy rain.
At that, Li Yin had no more mind for romance; she pushed Li Luo away, got up, and went to the window.
Interrupted in her good deed, Li Luo was a bit annoyed but could only follow.
Through the rain-blurred window, they noticed a dark silhouette near the coast—a colossus taller than the houses.
Outside, footsteps of people running in the rain filled the air; the townsfolk were evacuating in the storm, afraid of being caught in the disaster.
Thump thump thump—
Urgent footsteps sounded in the corridor, followed by a knock on the door.
“Sisters Li Yin and Li Luo! Open up!” came Ai Li’s voice from outside.
So Li Yin went to open the door.
The door opened, and Ai Li looked at them with an anxious expression.
“A sea monster has come ashore!”
“Let’s run!” she cried, frowning.
“Uh, Ai Li, you don’t need to be so nervous.”
Li Yin reached out to pat her head, smiling reassuringly.
“But…”
“It’s okay, your sister Li Luo can handle it.”
Saying this, Li Yin turned to look at Li Luo.
“Right, Luoluo?”
“Huh?”
Li Luo was taken aback; it seemed she had been dragged into something again.
But since it was her beloved’s request…
“Wait for me.”
With a doting smile, Li Luo left those words, opened the window, and then darted into the rain.
Flying through the rain, Li Luo soon reached the coast.
Dark clouds blocked the sun; a colossal creature dozens of meters tall moved slowly on the ground, its black tentacles like an octopus flailing wildly without pattern.
Walls struck by it crumbled and collapsed in an instant, reduced to ruins.
“Is this… Naraku?”
Li Luo looked down at the monster.
If she sensed correctly, this aura was definitely Naraku.
As for what Naraku was?
It was essentially a graveyard of living beings.
When tens of thousands of creatures died miserably with resentment in the same small area, the heavy grudges would condense into a physical form, pollute the land, and eventually form a black abyss—that was Naraku.
Something like Naraku would make even the infamous necromancers keep their distance, but a darker profession coveted it—
That was the witch doctor.
Powerful witch doctors often had their own Naraku, which could hardly form naturally in the wild.
That is, behind every Naraku was a trail of bloody lives.
Moreover, Naraku had a core—the solidified resentment.
As long as this resentment existed, Naraku could form anywhere, which was why witch doctors were hard to eradicate.
Once they sensed no chance of victory, they would flee with the core and lie low until the storm passed.
In the eyes of ordinary people, they were demonic incarnations solely pursuing power, using Naraku as a culture dish to create twisted forces they could control.
Because this power was extremely unstable, failure would turn the user into a neither-human-nor-ghost monster, so they often sought ignorant people as test subjects.
And this one before her was clearly the work of some witch doctor.
“I don’t know what you were like in life, but since you’ve become this, I’m sorry.”
“I can’t let you get anywhere near Yinyin.”
Muttering to herself, Li Luo raised her slender right hand and flicked her jade-like fingers downward.
In an instant, the surrounding temperature plummeted.
The raindrops, as large as beans, turned into ice needles and shot toward the monster!
As the ice needles pierced the monster, black liquid spurted out, emitting a stench like a sewer.
“Roar!”
Feeling pain, the faceless monster somehow let out a deafening roar from an unknown place.
The intense sound generated a ring-shaped white shockwave that expanded outward instantly.
Some houses couldn’t withstand this fierce, storm-like energy and collapsed one after another.
Her silver hair tossed in the strong wind, but Li Luo herself remained motionless.
The pressure of a silver dragon gradually radiated from her.
She waved her right hand again.
This time, the rain gathered and formed a several-meter-long ice spear.
The next moment, the ice spear pierced through the monster’s body with devastating force!
“ROAR!!!!!”
After an even more frenzied roar than before, the monster’s life force began to decline sharply.
Its tentacles, as if drained of energy, went limp and all dropped to the ground with dull thuds.
Though it seemed near death, as long as it still had a breath, it might revive.
To prevent that, Li Luo decided to finish it off.
She raised her small hand, and another identical ice spear spun in the air.
But just as Li Luo was about to strike, a young boy ran out from somewhere on the ground.
He strode to the front of the monster and spread his arms, as if trying to protect it with his tiny body.
It was Rand.
“Stop!”
“I won’t let you hurt her!”
Rand shouted at Li Luo, his gaze firm, showing no fear of the terrifying aura from the ice spear above.
