“HAHAHA!”

Black collapsed, his body pushed beyond its limit.

Yet he laughed—a wild, almost mad sound.

“Foolish insect… still daring to defy this king?”

Jörmungandr sneered—

even if it stood still, this human could never kill it, no matter how long he tried.

Then—Black flipped him off.

The Dragon King didn’t understand the gesture—but Black’s smirk made it clear:

This was an insult.

“ROOOOAR!”

“Then DIE!”

Jörmungandr’s patience shattered.

It didn’t matter which part of Nidhogg’s relic this human carried—it had to gamble.

Better to risk death by fang or claw

than face certain annihilation at the Empress’s hands.

Its abyssal maw gaped wide, ready to swallow Black, Alice, and Little Jinzi whole.

Darkness swallowed them—light fading as the jaws closed.

At the last instant—

Black yanked the Dragonfang Blade from his coat—and slammed it into Jörmungandr’s lower jaw.

Hssss

Black venom flooded the wound.

The Dragon King froze—its maw locked mid-bite.

“Th-this is…”

Its pupils shrank to pinpricks—ice-cold dread flooding its veins.

“Nidhogg’s fang! And his poison!”

IMPOSSIBLE!”

As a Dragon King, it knew the truth:

Nidhogg’s venom erased souls—no revival, no trace, no mercy.

That was why even the Twelve bowed to Nidhogg—never daring to rebel.

It thrashed, trying to rip the blade free—but the fang fused to its flesh,

unshakable.

The poison spread like wildfire—dragonblood turning black, clotting,

water-element energy faltering, collapsing.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

In agony, it slammed the sea, each impact accelerating the venom’s reach.

Scales peeled away,

revealing rotting, blackened muscle.

A stench of decay choked the air.

“I… am the Sovereign of Oceans…

One of the World’s Laws…

How… can I fall… to a… human…?”

Its roar weakened, shifting from fury to death’s whimper.

Its massive body crashed onto the waves, head lolling,

eyes dulling like dying stars.

It stared at Black—lips trembling,

trying to speak—but only black blood bubbled from its maw.

Then—disintegration.

Its form crumbled to ash, vanishing into the void.

Only a pale-blue dragon pearl remained—flickering weakly on the mirrored sea…before shattering into light,

gone forever.

Jörmungandr—the Sea Dragon King—was no more.

Black, who had just slain a god, still clenched his jaw in tension.

CRACK! CRACK!

With the pearl’s destruction,the soul-space shuddered violently.

Fissures split sky and sea—ocean water gushed in,ankle-deep, then waist-deep.

Black staggered to Alice, cradling her gently.

His heart sank.

Outside was the deep ocean—even if they escaped, they’d drown before reaching the surface.

Then—Little Jinzi swooped before him.

Its wings flared, weaving a translucent green wind barrier—a pocket of air, just big enough for one person.

Black’s eyes lit up—

then dimmed.

Only one can fit…

“Little Jinzi—take Alice!”

He placed her inside the bubble, voice rough with exhaustion.

“She’s bleeding out—she needs help NOW.

I’ll swim up myself—don’t worry about me.”

The wyvern snarled in protest, eyes brimming with fear.

It nuzzled his cheek, refusing to believe his lie.

Black had no choice.

Through their spiritual link,

he commanded:

“This is an ORDER!

Protect Alice. Get her back to the Hodyr!”

“I swear—I’ll find you both!”

Little Jinzi’s eyes glistened with sorrow—but it nodded, gently lifting Alice in its claws, and flew through a widening rift.

When Black saw them vanish into the light,he finally exhaled.

The seawater rose to his chest.

“Guess I should’ve learned to swim…”

He had lied.

He was a terrible swimmer—back in the White Pearl days,

Loyel’s kick into the sea nearly drowned him.

If only Alice were here…she might’ve taught him.

Maybe he’d have seen her in a swimsuit…

What a nice thought.

Life on the Hodyr was brief—but beautiful.

Alice. Irena. Kristine…

He’d met wonderful people.

Now… he had no regrets.

Dying like this?

Acceptable.

Only shame—he’d never see his fishing village again.

Did the White Pearl Pirates escape?

BOOOOM!

The soul-space imploded.

A tidal wave swept Black away.

As darkness claimed him,he gazed toward Alice’s distant silhouette, and smiled—peaceful, resigned.

“Goodbye, Alice…

…goodbye, game world…”

Then—blackout.

But as he lost consciousness, the system panel auto-activated:

Above the waves—sunlight returned.

The sea calmed, turning crystal blue.

A pirate ship—white skull flag fluttering—sailed quietly.

At the bow, Hans stared at the horizon, sighing heavily.

They’d escaped during the chaos, using Black’s detailed escape route.

But they’d waited hours on the White Pearl—no sign of Black or Loyel.

So they’d left, as Black had ordered.

“Black… Loyel…”

“Please… be alive.”
