“It’s done.”
Once the last wisp of bloodlust was completely purified, the dagger, now infused with the power of the Stardragon, had undergone a dramatic transformation.
The original plain gray body and red blade had become like crystal, emitting a star-purple glow, as exquisite as a work of art. Upon closer inspection, one could even see the phantom of a great dragon within the blade.
The two onlookers were already dumbfounded. If they hadn’t been watching the whole time, they would have thought the dagger had been swapped. Was this really the same one?
Aliciel had essentially used “Night’s Kiss” as raw material and directly reshaped it, even changing its attributes.
However, considering that the other party was from House Cosmos, it didn’t seem too surprising. Anyone who could wield the power of the Stardragon was definitely a high-ranking member of House Cosmos, not just a simple maid.
For the next half hour, Aliciel repeated the process, transforming all thirteen throwing knives into her own shape.
“Phew—! It’s done.”
Wiping the sweat from her forehead, she looked at the transformed “Night’s Kiss” in the box, a satisfied smile on her face. The only regret was that the other throwing knives had put up too little resistance and were easily transformed by her, failing to provide the desired pleasure.
Given Aliciel’s identity and her ability to directly transform “Night’s Kiss,” the shop manager treated her with great hospitality, and the price was also reduced significantly.
Aliciel didn’t refuse and accepted it gladly. After all, she was just borrowing the tiger’s might. Having been kicked out of her home, she could no longer rely on House Cosmos.
When she left home, apart from some expenses for the café, she only had five million Star Coins left. After paying Ren Daozhen one million, the remaining four million had to be used to order weapons, leaving not much left.
‘I need to find a way to make money. The income from the maid café alone is not enough to support such large expenses.’
After buying “Night’s Kiss,” Ciel wanted to see if there were any good scythes.
But scythes were not very suitable for combat; they had too many limitations. They were more often used as farm tools than weapons.
So, Ciel decided to have one custom-made, using high-grade metals, including mithril. The price also rose accordingly, costing a full one million.
That left only the sniper rifle. This type of weapon was more of a technological product, which the Adventurers’ Guild didn’t have, but it could be replaced with a magic tool.
When she had time, she would go to the Magic Academy and have one custom-made, but the price… would probably be quite high.
In that case, her savings would shrink again. It seemed she really had to register as an adventurer and take on some commission quests to make money, otherwise, she wouldn’t even be able to keep the maid café open.
After paying the deposit for the custom-made scythe, Aliciel put away her new throwing knife set, left the shop, and went straight to the Adventurers’ Guild.
The Adventurers’ Guild was established in almost every country, its reach spanning almost the entire Western Fantasy Realm, and even had a presence in other countries.
Although adventurers were essentially mercenaries, whether one wanted to earn money to support their family, become stronger by fighting magical beasts, or explore the unknown world, the Adventurers’ Guild provided a good platform.
Many people became adventurers with dreams, eager to have a grand adventure, so as not to have lived in vain.
The guild was quite large, like a covered square, with tables and chairs for adventurers to rest or drink.
Although it was late at night, there were many adventurers in the guild. As mentioned before, Ciel could only exert her true power at night, and of course, those adventurers would also choose to set out at their peak.
Among those adventurers, the majority were nocturnal races such as dark elves, werewolves, and vampires.
“Hello, I’d like to register as an adventurer. Where is the assessment area?”
Aliciel stopped a bunny girl serving drinks and asked softly. Upon closer inspection, the bunny ears on the girl’s head seemed to be real. Was she a half-rabbit person?
“Miss, you want to register as an adventurer? Alright, please follow me.”
Seeing Aliciel’s maid outfit, the bunny girl didn’t pay much attention. It was probably some young master or mistress from a noble family who wanted to experience the life of an adventurer and had sent their servant to scout in advance.
Moreover, if it was a finely dressed maid, her combat power was probably stronger than a man as strong as an ox.
Therefore, the bunny girl didn’t take Ciel to a regular window, but went straight to the VIP window.
Behind the window was a dark-skinned, beautiful dark elf. She handed over a form, which was for basic information such as name, family, and faith.
But when filling out the form, Aliciel hesitated. Although she had been kicked out of her home, she still believed in the Cosmic Dragon, or rather, the Stardragon.
Although the Theia Theocracy tolerated other faiths, there were not many believers in the Cosmic Dragon. Apart from House Cosmos, they were basically scattered in various countries, mainly astrologers who studied the stars.
It was said that the ancestor of House Cosmos was an astrologer who had accidentally received the blessing of the Cosmic Dragon, which led to the inheritance of the Stardragon Secret Art.
And in the entire Theia Theocracy, the only ones who believed in the Cosmic Dragon were House Cosmos. House Cosmos could even be considered the church of the Cosmic Dragon.
After some thought, Aliciel simply gave up struggling and directly wrote “Cosmic Dragon” in the faith column.
For Ciel, in terms of faith, the Cosmic Dragon could definitely be ranked second. As for the first, of course, it was being a maid.
“Oh?”
The dark elf attendant also showed a surprised expression when she saw the faith on the form. She looked up at Ciel. Although the family column was not written as House Cosmos, the dark elf attendant had already determined that this maid was of extraordinary origin and put on her best behavior.
“Miss, please wait a moment. We will prepare a test for you to determine your strength. May I be so bold as to ask, what areas are you skilled in? Magic? Or martial arts? So we can conduct a targeted test.”
“All-around!”
Ciel answered without hesitation, because she was a well-rounded, perfect maid! Although she had only recently started practicing her combat skills.
“Alright, I understand.”
Seeing Aliciel’s confident appearance, the dark elf attendant nodded and then took out a crystal ball and placed it on the table.
“In that case, we will first test your magic power and potential. Please place your hand on this.”
The ranking system of the Adventurers’ Guild was very simple, from D to A. This was the level range for most adventurers, accounting for almost eighty percent of the total number.
Reaching A-rank already meant being an outstanding warrior, one in a hundred, who had reached the limit of mortals.
And at S-rank, one had broken through the shackles and officially set foot on the path of the strong. Every S-rank adventurer was a renowned top-tier powerhouse, who could be received with grand hospitality in any country, and could single-handedly match an army of thousands.
As mentioned before, an Undead Knight capable of destroying a city would require at least an S-rank adventurer to defeat.
