Faced with the oncoming blast,
Black’s expression tightened slightly.
He dared not underestimate a Level 55 fusion beast’s full-power attack!
With a thought, he commanded Jörmungandr:
“Abyssal Death Ray!”
The serpent’s ice-blue eyes locked on target, its head arching high—and from its maw erupted a jet-black beam of azure light,so deep it devoured all ambient light.
Where it passed, moisture froze into crystalline frost.
In its prime, this blast could erase a city.
Now—even at Level 40—it was cataclysmic.
KRA-BOOOOM!
Crimson met azure—a collision of apocalyptic energies!
Jessy, the spoiled noble, ducked behind his thugs, whimpering: “It’s only Level 40—it’ll lose for sure!”
Brenna and Leán clenched their fists, praying silently—
Level 55 should win… right?
The crowd braced for the serpent’s annihilation.
But—
SSSSSS!
The azure beam carved through the fireblastlike a red-hot blade through butter.
Three seconds of resistance—then—total penetration!
The Abyssal Death Ray spearheaded forward, impaling the Molten Cataclysm Beast’s core.
No explosion.
No roar.
Just instant disintegration—the beast dissolving into glittering dust.
And the beam kept going—grazing Tal’s side!
The High-Tier Summoner’s face froze in eternal terror—his right half erased like chalk on a slate—gone in an instant.
Behind him—the beam struck Jessy’s flagship.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The massive cargo ship shattered like a child’s toy,its keel snapping, debris scattering in a firestorm—before plunging into the sea.
Silence.
Absolute, suffocating silence.
Only the wind, carrying smoke and blood, broke the stillness.
On deck—everyone stood petrified.
Eyes fixed on the sinking wreckage,on the half-corpse staining the wood—blood pooling at Jessy’s feet.
“AAAAH!”
Jessy screamed like a gutted pig,his knees buckling, collapsing into the gore.
“DON’T KILL ME! PLEASE!”
Terror overwhelmed him—his pants soaked, stench of urine filling the air.
He crawled behind his men, daring not look at Black.
The thugs?
Teeth chattering,no one moved.
Annihilation in one strike—
Level 55 fusion beast,its summoner,an entire warship—all erased.
“Uh… oops?”
Black stared at his dissipating serpent, genuinely startled.
He knew Jörmungandr was strong—but Level 40, incomplete form?
This destructive power… insane!
The Abyssal Death Ray had drained the summon completely—
Jörmungandr faded into motes of light.
Brenna and Leán stood numb, watching their “useless” cousin—now a battlefield god—with disbelieving eyes.
Is this… really Cousin Black?
Or just a fever dream?
Jessy’s men retreated—no one wanted to share Tal’s fate.
Black frowned at the corpse.
Didn’t mean to kill… this complicates things.
Then—
Engine roars!
A new ship approached—blue banners bearing sword-and-shield emblems fluttering.
“EVERYONE FREEZE!”
A commanding voice echoed across the water.
“ESPECIALLY THE BARE-CHESTED ONE!”
Black turned—
Imperial Knight Patrol.
Shit.
They’d seen everything.
In this world, the Knight Patrol was law enforcement—arrest first, ask questions in Servia.
“NO!” Brenna panicked.
“Cousin, RUN!
Jessy will lie! They’ll lock you up!”
Black hesitated—his mana was nearly gone, his Pirate Divine Skill barely sustainable.
Before he could move—blue-armored knights leapt onto the deck.
“That’s the killer! Arrest him!”
Jessy howled, pointing like a madman—then ducked again when Black glanced his way.
The squad leader—Lv.65 Knight—surveyed the scene:
Blood. Half a corpse. A sunken ship.
He’d witnessed the killing blow from afar.
How did a mere Lv.40 kid do this?
“By Imperial Law,” he declared coldly,
“killing and destroying a vessel on the high seas—regardless of cause—is a capital offense.”
“You will return to Servia for trial.”
Two knights stepped forward,magic-restraining manacles in hand.
Black sighed.
No point resisting.
He submitted quietly—the cuffs clicking shut.
“Wait! Captain!” Brenna pleaded.
“It was self-defense! Jessy ambushed us—”
“All explanations in Servia,” the captain cut her off.
“Everyone’s coming with us.”
Leán staggered upright, bruised but defiant:
“Don’t worry, Cousin! We’ll testify!
Dad will move heaven and earth to free you!”
Brenna nodded firmly—in the Empire’s shadowy justice system, connections could turn murder into “justified force”.
As Black was led across the gangplank,he gave his cousins a reassuring look.
At least… I’m heading to Servia anyway.
The island wasn’t remote—just off a lesser trade route.
So… welcome to the capital.
He smirked.
If things go south…
…I’ve pulled off one jailbreak already.
What’s another?
The game’s next chapter had begun—and Black was already in chains.
