The Noah Royal Academy, hailed as the cradle of the Empire’s elite.
On a relatively secluded path, connecting the main teaching building and the magic practice field, two students were walking slowly side by side.
One was tall and thin, wearing thick glasses, and holding several copies of “Advanced Introduction to Elemental Geometry” in his arms, while the other was shorter and fatter, with obvious gossip excitement on his face.
“Hey, did you hear? Yesterday afternoon, it was that Wolfgang family’s ‘Grim Reaper’ again!”
The short, fat student nudged his companion with his elbow, lowering his voice.
“At the old training ground behind the West Tower.”
The tall, thin student pushed up his glasses, not hiding his trepidation.
“…Don’t mention it, I happened to be passing by at the time… That noise! A ‘boom’! I thought the tower had collapsed! Guess who did it?”
“Who is it? Don’t keep me in suspense!”
“It’s Miss Beilixiya!”
The tall, thin student swallowed, his face showing awe and lingering fear.
“She… she was waving that terrifying greatsword again! It’s said to be some kind of new swordsmanship from the mysterious East? That one heavy sword strike, the adamantine training dummy that the academy had reinforced three times, said to be able to withstand a strike from a gem-level mage… Directly! From the middle! Split in half! The fragments flew out more than ten meters! If her young master hadn’t reacted quickly, throwing up a spatial barrier to deflect the fragments, Professor Sinclair, the director of the Alchemy Department who was watching, would have gone to see the Elemental Goddess ahead of schedule!”
“Hiss—”
The short, fat student gasped. “What’s this called? Like master, like servant? Last week in practical magic class, her young master also…”
“Yes, yes, yes!”
The tall, thin student nodded vigorously.
“Young Master Xia Ya! In order to verify some newly learned elemental magic, he directly compressed three overlapping fireballs in the classroom!”
“As a result, ‘boom’! It exploded! That black smoke! Scorched the entire ceiling of the classroom and Professor Sinclair’s newly customized fake beard, said to be able to resist dragon breath! The professor was planning to go on a blind date in the afternoon, but he was so angry that he almost had a myocardial infarction on the spot! It is said that he is still lying in the medical room! The disciplinary notice from the Academic Affairs Office has been posted, with both detention and compensation…”
“But they probably won’t be quiet for long.”
“Tsk tsk, this pair of master and servant…”
The short, fat student shook his head, but his face showed a kind of excitement of watching the excitement and not being afraid of trouble.
“They are simply walking disasters! Wherever they go, they explode! If their family head, Lord Geralt, hadn’t made great military achievements, the academy would have kicked them out long ago if they were other nobles… But…”
He changed the subject, “Miss Beilixiya’s strength… is really scary, and really… amazing! And Young Master Xia Ya, although he always causes trouble, his spatial magic is really smooth! I heard that people from the Magician’s Association are coming to ask him for advice…”
“Amazing is amazing, do you dare to hang out with them?”
The tall, thin student shrank his neck.
“Didn’t you see the notice board? The student council and the security department jointly issued a notice, ‘suggesting’ that students, during non-teaching hours, stay away from specific areas where Wolfgang family members may appear, especially the old training ground, the alchemy laboratory, the entrance to the restricted book area of the library, and…”
His words stopped abruptly, his eyes widened suddenly, as if he had seen a ghost, staring fixedly at the short, fat student’s back.
The short, fat student was startled by his terrified expression, and subconsciously turned his head.
He saw a figure appearing silently half a step behind them at some point, with a smile on his face that they had only heard about in the “disaster reports” issued by the student council, a signature smile with a bit of ruffianism and the meaning of a prank succeeding – it was one of the protagonists they had just discussed enthusiastically, Xia Ya von Wolfgang!
“Two students, chatting very enthusiastically?”
“Young… Young Master Xia Ya!” The two instantly turned pale, as if they had been petrified, the books in their arms almost falling to the ground. Their minds were blank, with only one thought left.
It’s over!
All the words just said were heard! Will they be retaliated against? Will they be stuffed into a spatial rift and thrown into another dimension?
(Noah Royal Academy’s Top Ten Unbelievable Things, No. 6: Xia Ya threw the people who were badmouthing him and his maid behind their backs into another world, never to be found again.)
Xia Ya conjured up two neatly folded hard paper cards printed with the Adventurers’ Association’s sword and staff emblem from behind him, and stuffed them into the hands of the two petrified students without explanation.
“Don’t be nervous, relax.”
Xia Ya patted the tall, thin student on the shoulder (the latter shuddered in fright).
“I just saw that you two are so concerned about the academy’s dynamics, so I’m especially sending you some… uh, the latest information.”
He pointed to the brightly colored card in their hands, his tone carrying a threatening meaning, at least that’s what these two students thought.
“Early next month, after the Autumn Hunting Festival, Academy Square, Adventurers’ Association special promotion event! At that time, this young master – Xia Ya von Wolfgang, and my chief guard Beilixiya von Wolfgang, will appear together! We will demonstrate extraordinary power on the spot and share thrilling adventure experiences collected by the Adventurer’s Association! A rare opportunity, don’t miss it! Remember to bring your friends to support us!”
After speaking, Xia Ya stylishly flung his signature golden hair, his figure like a ghost once again integrated into the shadows of the tree-lined road, disappearing.
Leaving only two students who were still in shock, holding the “hot potato” promotional cards in their hands, messed up in the autumn wind.
The short, fat student stiffly lowered his head, and opened the promotional card with a trembling hand.
“This… this…”
Looking at the promotional card, the short, fat student only felt a chill rushing from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
He looked at his equally pale companion with a weeping face.
“Is… is he threatening us? If we don’t go… will there be trouble?”
The tall, thin student looked at the card, then looked at the direction where Xia Ya disappeared, the lenses of his glasses reflecting a light of despair.
“…I think, if we go… there might be even more trouble…”
At the same time, at the other end of the corridor corner.
Xia Ya leaned against the cold stone pillar, the exaggerated business smile on his face disappearing instantly, replaced by a look of exhaustion.
He scratched his hair irritably.
“That boring old Barton! And this promotional mission! Let me go to the academy square to be a monkey? And cooperate with that old guy to create some ‘passionate adventure’ gimmick? What a joke!”
Beside him, Beilixiya stood quietly, holding a thick stack of the same exaggerated promotional cards printed with her greatsword in her arms.
She looked at the young master’s unwilling face, a trace of helplessness flashed in her amber dragon eyes, she whispered a reminder.
“Young Master… President Barton asked for us… to distribute all of these…”
