First came the old grandpa and grandma giving out secret manuals.
Then came uncles and aunties gifting divine weapons.
Nilu’s script had basically reached the level where just walking down the street meant “auto-level 999, full god-tier gear with one swing.”
If Nilu really started leveling up like this, then later, when her script says she’ll have a chance to kill me—
She might just one-shot me on the spot.
Thankfully, I already knew about the “old grandpa and grandma” events in her script ahead of time.
And after blocking several of them in a row these past few days—
There shouldn’t be any more of those encounters in her plot for a while.
At least for now, this big and fair-skinned maid won’t suddenly go “full level.”
That’s how it was supposed to be.
But…
Lately, Kefir’s behavior has gotten weirder and weirder.
And as someone who knows the script, and pays close attention to everything the protagonist does—
That made me uneasy.
Today was no different.
“Even though you’re just a scammy fake priest helping villains, your cooking is about on par with Nilu’s.”
After that reluctant bit of praise for the cooking skills I picked up while constantly on the run—
Kefir hurriedly finished breakfast and stood up.
Unfortunately, what followed wasn’t some slightly awkward yet cozy “one guy two girls” domestic life.
Just like the past few days, the protagonist’s strange behavior continued.
Nilu, who was cleaning up the dishes beside us, immediately turned her head.
“Young Miss, don’t tell me today you’re also going to…”
“Mhm. I’m going out. You two still don’t need to follow me.”
“Especially you, Euclid. Stay put here and behave yourself.”
“I’ve got a contract watching you!”
Kefir picked up her luggage.
As usual, she threw a parting threat to stop me from messing with Miss Nilu—
Then hurried out the door with quick steps.
Ever since I “grabbed her thigh”—
Cough I mean, ever since I became her personal priest—
This has basically happened every day.
I’m not really worried she’s sneaking off with that suitcase (which probably just has clothes).
After all, she’s the protagonist!
This world’s a serious one—not some shady adult storyline.
Still, her behavior doesn’t quite match the usual proud and proper “daughter of heaven” vibe she gives off.
It’s weird.
If something happens to Kefir, I can’t keep hugging that protagonist thigh!
As the great villain Euclid, my life now entirely depends on Kefir.
Even just to return the favor, I need to make sure her “protagonist journey” stays smooth.
Should I try… investigating?
While I was thinking about that—
Miss Nilu quietly moved closer after Kefir left.
“Mr. Euclid…”
“Y-Yes! What is it, Nilu?”
I was genuinely nervous.
After all, Nilu is a protagonist too in the script.
And she could easily have a reason to kill me at any moment!
But maybe because I helped her “chase off suspicious old grandpas and grandmas” these past few days—
She’s been acting much friendlier toward me.
One glance at that big and fair figure—
What man wouldn’t have a hard time ignoring it?
“Sorry to trouble you again, but…”
“Could I ask you to help the young miss somehow?”
“…What do you mean?”
I quickly pulled my gaze back from her chest.
After all, Kefir—the true protagonist—was still my top priority.
Besides, as Kefir’s personal maid—
Nilu might know even more details than I can get from the script.
“Actually, even before the young miss called me here to help out…”
“She and the family head—her father—have had long-standing issues.”
“Lately, it’s gotten worse… to the point of actual arguments.”
“I think… the reason she came to stay in this town outside the capital…”
“Was just to avoid going home.”
“She’s been hiding out in this secret base.”
“…”
So to put it simply:
The protagonist Kefir’s been feeling troubled lately.
But wait a second—Kefir is the certified “daughter of heaven” in the script!
She’s got a pure, proud personality and strong protagonist energy.
She wouldn’t be troubled over some petty, girly worries… right?
Then what could she be struggling with?
Without hesitation, I started flipping through the next part of Kefir’s script in my head.
Thanks to Nilu sharing insider info, the storyline was a lot clearer now.
[Because of her inner troubles, Kefir hasn’t returned to the Empire’s academy or home.
Today’s outing is just an excuse—she’ll be sitting in a quiet place outside until nightfall.]
I didn’t come here to build a harem!
What good is telling me her location!?
Just tell me what’s bothering her!
[Kefir’s troubles have nothing to do with Euclid.
In fact, his recent presence has actually cheered her up a bit.]
Huh!?
Really!?
Then I should be thanking the script for the favor points boost!
Whew…
Even if the script won’t tell me the exact reason for her worries yet—
Now that I know she is troubled, I can’t just relax and enjoy the peaceful “no death flag” days.
Knowing her personality, I should be able to figure it out with some gentle prodding.
Kefir’s every move is tied to my survival.
I can’t take it lightly.
“What can I do to help?”
“You can give her a kind little ‘prophecy’ to nudge her along~”
“That’s your specialty, right?”
Hey, don’t make the script sound like a scam!
Still, using a “prophecy” as an excuse to talk things out—
That fits my fake priest persona perfectly.
And it won’t spook Kefir too much.
Nice move, Nilu.
Didn’t think your brain was just as impressive as your chest.
“Well then, let’s get moving. I’ll head into town for supplies, and you—”
“Wait, wait! No need for shopping—I’ll go alone!”
“I already have a good idea where Kefir is. I’ll just go straight to her.”
I quickly stopped Nilu.
If she ran into another “gift-granting old man,” I’d be done for.
“Eh? How do you know where she is…?”
“That’s the power of ‘prophecy.’”
For once, I struck a cool pose.
Didn’t expect…
“……”
Nilu actually blushed!
She looked at me with sparkling eyes.
Considering her script was full of “kill Euclid” moments…
That just made me even more nervous.
Then she said—
“Then… I’ll go with you…”
I shivered.
Never showing off again.
