“I’m not eating yours.”
Lu Qiancha turned her little head away, decisively avoiding the porridge spoon Ling Wanbai had brought to her mouth.
Ling Wanbai’s face remained impassive. She calmly placed the spoon with the white porridge back into the bowl, then picked up her chopsticks and steadily picked up a small, tantalizing slice of meat, offering it to Lu Qiancha’s lips again.
“Sniff, sniff~”
Lu Qiancha’s small nose twitched slightly, and her sapphire-like eyes suddenly lit up: “So fragrant!”
Before she finished speaking, she took an “Ahm” bite, precisely snatching the meat slice from Ling Wanbai’s chopsticks.
The meat was firm and springy. At first, there was a subtle spicy stimulation, and as she chewed carefully, she could taste threads of sweet and sour aftertaste.
“Delicious!”
Lu Qiancha’s eyes curved into crescents, making no attempt to hide the satisfied smile on her face.
Ling Wanbai blinked and very naturally picked up another slice to offer.
Lu Qiancha was not polite and once again “Ahm” annihilated it. While puffing out her cheeks and chewing hard, she mumbled incoherently, acting spoiled towards Xun Xue: “Ngh… I want Mother to feed me!”
“Don’t talk while eating.” Xun Xue first chided softly, extending her index finger to dotingly pinch Lu Qiancha’s soft little cheek, then picked up her own spoon, scooped a spoonful of warm white porridge, and carefully brought it to the little guy’s mouth.
“I know~” Lu Qiancha responded vaguely, then opened her mouth and swallowed the white porridge with an “Ahm.” The light fragrance of rice melted in her mouth. Although it was just ordinary white porridge, because it was fed by her mother’s own hand, it seemed exceptionally sweet.
Lu Qiancha’s small legs, clad in white tights, swung happily unconsciously. A warm sense of happiness and satisfaction filled her heart. Since crossing into this world, this was the first time she had felt the happiness of family affection.
After breakfast, Lu Qiancha energetically shook her fluffy large tail, took out the Trickery Cube from her storage space, and turned it into several cards. She excitedly planned to go to the uninhabited area of the snowy region to test the power of the newly acquired Doom-shroom.
“Mother, I’m going out to play!” Lu Qiancha reported energetically.
“Be careful.” Xun Xue’s gentle voice came from behind.
With a flash, Lu Qiancha transformed into the appearance of a young man and flew toward the distant horizon.
The Wolf Clan Royal City was nestled in the mountains, and outside the city gates lay a vast, boundless snowy plain. Lu Qiancha flew high in the sky, overlooking the snow-covered mountains and rivers below, trying to find a test site remote enough and far from human habitation.
However, after careful observation, Lu Qiancha shook her head helplessly. Many affiliated tribal towns were distributed around the Royal City, mostly built against the snow-capped mountains. Once the Doom-shroom exploded, the huge noise could very likely trigger a catastrophic avalanche, affecting innocent lives and increasing her sins for no reason.
Thinking of this, Lu Qiancha decisively gave up the idea of test-detonating the large Doom-shroom and turned her gaze to the three Mini Doom-shroom cards in her hand, which depicted small mushroom patterns.
Spiritual energy was injected into the card.
Poof!
A fist-sized, strangely shaped mushroom sapling instantly appeared in Lu Qiancha’s palm. This little thing was purple-black all over, with a pair of round, seemingly fierce “eyes” on top, currently staring unblinkingly at Lu Qiancha.
“Hm? Didn’t I remember that this kind of mushroom sleeps during the day?”
Lu Qiancha scratched her head in confusion, not understanding, so she simply gave up thinking. She slowly landed on an empty, uninhabited snowy field and carefully planted this small Doom-shroom in the soft snow layer.
Waiting for a moment…
The little mushroom remained motionless, with no reaction.
Lu Qiancha: “?”
Lu Qiancha tilted her head in confusion. Could this Doom-shroom be malfunctioning?
With puzzlement, she took out another small Doom-shroom card, injected spiritual energy, and similarly planted it in the snow nearby.
Time passed second by second…
The two small mushrooms stood quietly in the snow, as if they were just two harmless decorations.
“Strange… Do three stalks have to be put together to synthesize a two-star giant Doom-shroom to trigger an explosion?” The confusion on Lu Qiancha’s face deepened. While pondering, she took out the third card and injected spiritual energy as well.
This time, three identical small Doom-shrooms lined up in a row, standing uniformly on the white snow. Six round “eyes” stared at Lu Qiancha in unison, making the scene a bit weird for a moment.
“Why is there still no movement?” Lu Qiancha (in disguise) frowned and took a tentative step forward.
Just then.
“Squeak—squeak—!”
Several urgent cries rang out.
A snow-white, fluffy snow rabbit suddenly darted out from some snow hole. In its panic, it slammed headfirst into one of the small Doom-shrooms.
“Boom—!!”
A muffled but powerful explosion sounded abruptly.
The unlucky snow rabbit didn’t even have time to scream before it was instantly blown into a cloud of scattered ash, not leaving even a drop of blood.
“…”
Lu Qiancha’s eyelid twitched. She had originally thought that “waiting by a stump for a rabbit” (waiting for windfalls) was just a made-up story, but it turned out there really were silly rabbits crashing into things everywhere.
However, thanks to this brave snow rabbit who “tested the law with its body,” Lu Qiancha instantly dispelled guesses such as “needing to synthesize a three-star giant Doom-shroom” or “needing time to grow up.”
Retracting her thoughts, she looked at the remaining two small Doom-shrooms on the snow and suddenly realized: “So that’s it, this is a trigger mine. No wonder there was no reaction when I planted it just now.”
Looking at the three mushroom cards in her hand that had entered a cooldown state and could not be used temporarily, a classic line involuntarily flashed through Lu Qiancha’s mind: “Captain Teemo, on duty.”
She quickly shook her head to throw out this intruding line and refocused on the mushrooms in front of her.
If it could only explode passively when someone or an animal stepped on it, the practical value of this “landmine” would be greatly discounted. With such a conspicuous black mushroom standing there, only a fool would step on it. Did she really have to learn from Teemo and hide it in the grass to ambush people?
Lu Qiancha pouted, obviously dissatisfied with this function. She mobilized her spiritual energy, covering her palm with a thin protective light shield, and then carefully extended a finger to gently poke one of the small Doom-shrooms.
The tough texture of the mushroom came from her fingertip—no explosion.
“Phew…” Lu Qiancha breathed a sigh of relief, “Fortunately, it’s not an indiscriminate attack mad mushroom.”
She bent down, pulled the two small Doom-shrooms out of the snow, and held them in her hand. Her gaze scanned the snowy plain and quickly locked onto a snow rabbit foraging not far away.
Aim—
“Off you go!” She threw one of the small mushrooms forcefully at the snow rabbit.
“Squeak!”
Startled by the sound of breaking air, the snow rabbit’s fur stood on end. Its hind legs kicked violently, and it bolted away like lightning.
The small Doom-shroom drew a parabola and landed precisely where the snow rabbit had just stood with a “plop,” sinking deep into the soft snowdrift.
The moment the mushroom body came into contact with the snow—
“Bang!”
A slightly muffled explosion sounded.
Snow foam splattered, leaving only a shallow small snow pit in place.
