Suffocating… Oppressive…
Ping Chengcheng opened her eyes to a blood-red ceiling.
She looked around and saw Song Ning fast asleep, slumped over the side of the bed.
‘Where am I?’
She sat up with difficulty, habitually reaching for her hair.
‘It’s gotten shorter?’
She looked down at her hands.
‘This is? Ping Yan?’
‘Have I become Ping Yan again?’
Glancing around the familiar surroundings, her heart pounded wildly.
She yanked back the blanket, only to see her legs wrapped tightly in bandages.
‘This is?’
“You’re awake?” Song Ning rubbed her eyes, opening them wearily.
Ping Chengcheng suddenly felt her body move uncontrollably, and a male voice emerged from her mouth, “Ah, I just woke up.”
“Is… is there any food left?”
Ping Yan gulped, swallowing a mouthful of thick saliva.
Song Ning smiled, pulling a biscuit from her pocket and handing it to Ping Yan.
But Ping Yan looked at her hesitantly.
Song Ning casually made up a lie, “I’m not hungry right now. I found a piece of bread in the room last night. I was too hungry to tell you, so I ate it myself.”
‘It’s a lie,’ Ping Yan knew.
Because Song Ning would never do something like that.
But Ping Yan didn’t dare to expose it, because he was afraid of starving to death.
He quickly wolfed down the biscuit.
Ping Chengcheng watched this scene, an unstoppable rage rising within her.
‘Damn it, damn it! Ping Yan, you’re such a good-for-nothing!’
She tried desperately to control this body, but she couldn’t exert any strength at all!
It was as if she was sealed within this body.
Seeing Ping Yan eat the biscuit, Song Ning felt a slight sense of relief.
“Alright, I’m going to find some food. Don’t move from here.”
Song Ning said as she opened the decaying wooden door and stepped out.
She gently closed the door behind her, facing the cold wind, and plunged into the world outside without a single look back.
That evening, she returned, dragging her injured body.
Although she hadn’t been bitten by a zombie, her arm was gashed by a steel rebar from a building, dripping with blood.
It was March 7th, the temperature had risen above zero, and the zombies’ senses were slowly heightening.
A night passed, and the next morning came.
The doorway was piled high with zombies.
They shrieked, frantically pounding on the main door.
Song Ning was jolted awake.
She looked at the panicked Ping Yan, then at the crumbling door, and gritted her teeth.
Opening the door, she rushed out.
Amidst the gnawing of the zombies, she didn’t let a single one enter the house.
She slammed the door shut and ran with all her might!
The zombies chased after Song Ning, gradually moving farther away…
Powerless, Ping Chengcheng was trapped in Ping Yan’s body, watching all of this unfold in sorrow.
The dream was over.
