The Heresy of Utopia and a Noble’s Game

Chapter 151,132 words10 min read

SSS-Class Heresy: Utopia.

It had existed long before the Holy Church emerged.

Possessing no physical form, it dwelled solely within the dreams of all humanity across the world.

The humanity it embodied, though not inherently its own, was a manifestation of mankind’s boundless yearning for a beautiful life.

It was a wondrous new world, devoid of sickness and death. A place where everyone could do as they pleased, unfettered, unconstrained, and utterly lawless.

“That wasn’t their fault.”

“Not their fault? So, it was ours then?”

“No, it was our fault.”

Reyn met Louise’s gaze calmly, his voice soft. “Who provided the student loans?”

Louise’s lips twitched. “The Rheinhebo family.”

Reyn’s expression instantly became quite complex. So, he was Louise’s creditor?

This revelation, however, sparked a new question in his mind. “If that’s the case, why was your attitude towards me so impolite earlier?”

Louise was silent for a brief moment. “The creditor is the Rheinhebo family.”

Reyn instantly understood. The loans were from the Rheinhebo family as an entity, not from him, its current head.

Yet, with him being the sole direct descendant remaining in the Rheinhebo family, it was virtually impossible for anyone to challenge his position as head.

Reyn pondered for a moment, then spoke in a gentle tone. “I will consider canceling a portion of your debts, but I have no intention of altering the taxes paid to the Holy Church.”

Louise’s lips twitched silently. She was accustomed to such official rhetoric; it seemed Reyn Rheinhebo was determined to oppose the Holy Church to the very end.

Was this why he had deliberately sent a witch’s creation to attack her?

But what exactly was Reyn Rheinhebo’s reason for choosing her? She was merely a minor enforcer, not even a significant figure within the branch church, possessing little utility.

Suddenly, Reyn looked up at Louise. “You’ve been here for a long time. If Enforcer Louise Christian doesn’t wish to help me clear the Voice of the Deceased, perhaps it would be best if you left quickly.”

This was a clear dismissal.

Louise was about to rise when her heart suddenly trembled. For Reyn Rheinhebo, who controlled the Coven, what threat could the Voice of the Deceased pose?

This was Reyn Rheinhebo’s warning.

Louise looked at Reyn. “Count, you want me to stay?”

Reyn’s expression faltered for a moment, then he chuckled softly. “If an enforcer is willing to lodge here, it would indeed bring a great deal of peace of mind.”

Louise bit her red lip, her white teeth pressing hard. What other reason could a noble have for insisting a woman of striking beauty remain?

Her body trembled slightly, and even her voice unconsciously took on a hint of a sob. “I’m sorry… I may have spoken rudely to the Count tonight… please, forgive me.”

Reyn stared at Louise in bewilderment. He hadn’t realized that the Voice of the Deceased could be so terrifying even for an enforcer.

“Enforcer, if you don’t wish to stay, you may simply leave.”

Louise’s body jolted, and she looked at Reyn with a touch of disbelief. She had never imagined that he would let her go so easily.

The moment she breathed a temporary sigh of relief and turned away, Reyn’s gentle voice reached her from behind once more. “Did the child still like the desserts I sent last time?”

Louise’s body instantly stiffened. She turned mechanically, her eyes fixed on Reyn with desperate intensity.

She knew. She just knew! That damnable noble had never intended to let her go from the start!

Reyn watched Louise walk towards him with a lifeless gaze, somewhat perplexed. He saw her slowly climb onto the table and straddle him.

“Louise Christian?”

“Wait! What are you doing taking off your clothes? Let go of me! This is illegal!”

Louise pressed down on the struggling Reyn. Seeing the panic in the person beneath her, a mocking sorrow touched her lips.

His strength was so slight, no different from an ordinary person. But how could a noble who controlled the Coven possess so little strength if he truly wished to resist?

“Ark! Get in here and stop her!”

In the hallway outside the study, Ark waited silently by the door. He clearly heard the commotion inside the study and quietly adjusted his stance.

How could a discerning servant possibly interrupt his master at a time like this?

His peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of the maid, Leila, approaching with a tray. He naturally blocked her path, his voice deep. “The master is engaged in something very important inside.”

Leila slowly raised her head, a pair of distinct black-and-white eyes, unlike her usual ones, stared indifferently at Ark. Her voice was icy. “Get out of the way!”

She wasn’t Leila! At least, not the Leila he remembered!

Ark’s expression instantly changed. He sensed a dangerous aura emanating from her and decisively moved aside.

Leila entered the study with the tray, her face devoid of emotion as she observed the absurd scene unfolding on the chair. “Young Master, before engaging in such activities, shouldn’t you at least consider Elise?”

Reyn had no time to process Leila’s words, instinctively shouting out, “Yes, that’s right!”

Leila immediately grabbed Louise’s shoulders. The next moment, Louise’s body went limp, collapsing weakly into Leila’s arms.

Louise tried to say something, but found she lacked even the strength to speak. This absolute control over another’s body immediately brought to mind the Lust Witch of the Coven.

Leila quickly left the study, her voice flat as she spoke. “Your body will recover immediately. Then, leave this estate at once! Do not harbor desires for things you should not possess! This is for your own good! After all, you are merely an ordinary human.”

Noticing her body had already recovered, Louise looked at Leila with despair, her voice hoarse. “Do you think I wanted this? I had no choice in the matter!”

Leila looked at Louise strangely. She suddenly thought of something and let out a disdainful sneer. “Indeed, you are just an ordinary human. You can’t possibly comprehend the Young Master’s greatness.”

Louise stared intently at Leila. “He is the one who leads your Coven, is he not?”

Leila cast a dismissive glance at Louise. “That is your limitation, Enforcer. Since you can move normally now, you should leave.”

Louise stood steady, looking at Leila with incomprehension. “Then, why do you all revere him so much?”

Leila smiled faintly. “Enforcer, heresies originate from beyond this world, correct?”

Louise nodded. “That’s right.”

“But we are not. We were, initially, just ordinary people. Until the Young Master found us and bestowed this power upon us.”

“What did you say?”

“After we met the Young Master, we gained power. Now, you should be able to slightly understand his greatness, shouldn’t you?”
