Mithor?

Chapter 1591,210 words11 min read

Meanwhile, in Planden, near the Vampire Royal City, a group of faculty members led by Vice-Principal Eck stood at the entrance, craning their necks in anticipation.

Today, Her Highness the Vampire Princess was scheduled to arrive at Planden.

Although the princess had requested a low-key arrival, the vice-principal had still prepared a simple welcoming ceremony to prevent any teachers from failing to recognize her and inadvertently offending her.

“She’s here!”

The sound of hushed discussions arose from behind, forcing Eck to step forward and maintain order.

“You are teachers in this academy. Do not make a fuss in front of Her Highness.”

As Eck spoke, the murmuring behind him gradually subsided.

The first thing to come into view was the princess’s magnificent carriage.

Its body was carved with intricate patterns that shimmered with the light of magic essence.

The four horned horses pulling it all exuded an aura of Sequence Four or higher.

Even while pulling the carriage, the horned horses held their heads high, snorting hot air from their nostrils.

Their strong, powerful steps moved across the ground at a steady pace, showing that even the carriage horses were well-bred.

The carriage came to a steady halt a few paces before Eck.

“Welcome, Your Highness the Princess.”

Eck was the first to kneel on one knee to welcome Eve.

“I recall Aunt Cecia and the headmaster saying there was no need for such fanfare?”

Eve’s voice came from within the carriage.

Even when facing the vice-principal of Planden, she had no intention of alighting.

“I thought it would be best for everyone to meet Your Highness, to avoid any accidental offense later.”

After Eck spoke, there was a long silence from the carriage, which made beads of sweat form on his forehead.

Just as Eck’s heart was pounding, Eve’s voice came from inside.

“Everyone will meet when school officially starts. There’s no need for this now.”

“I am just an ordinary student of Planden. I require no special treatment.”

Hearing the princess’s words, Eck’s heart began to pound.

‘So the princess dislikes this sort of thing.’

“By the way, where is the headmaster?”

To Eck’s relief, Eve didn’t press the matter, only asking him a question.

“The headmaster is working in his office, in the academy’s high tower.”

As he spoke, Eck pointed Eve in the right direction.

The horned horses then continued on their way, while Eck and the teachers remained where they were, seeing her off respectfully.

“Vice-Principal Eck, may we leave now?”

The people left behind looked at each other, unsure if they were dismissed.

At that moment, Eve’s voice came from the departing carriage.

“You may all return. Do not arrange such things again in the future.”

Only after receiving the princess’s clear reply did the crowd gradually disperse.

Inside the carriage, Eve rubbed the bridge of her nose, her face full of helplessness.

“As I recall, the vampires of the past didn’t do these kinds of meet-and-greets.”

“After more contact with humans, they naturally picked up human customs.”

Sitting opposite Eve was Cecia, who had changed into a maid’s uniform.

After speaking, she watched Eve’s troubled expression with great interest.

“Aunt Cecia, you really don’t have to follow me to Planden.”

Seeing the dignified Prince Cecia dressed as a maid by her side made Eve feel rather uncomfortable.

“I must! Winnie isn’t here, and you don’t have many maids with you. I have to see you safely to Planden.”

Cecia replied, full of vigor.

Hearing this, Eve couldn’t help but ask.

“Actually, wearing a maid’s uniform is your hobby, isn’t it, Aunt Cecia?”

“Oh my, you’ve found me out. After all, I used to be Her Majesty the Queen’s personal maid. Being a prince isn’t as simple as being a maid, you know.”

As Cecia spoke, her eyes filled with nostalgia for the old days.

“What was Mother like back then?”

Hearing Cecia bring up the past, Eve was also filled with curiosity about her mother.

“Her Majesty the Queen? She used to dislike wearing dresses. It was only after I replaced all the clothes in her wardrobe with dresses that she gradually gave in.”

Hearing this familiar tactic, Eve couldn’t help but sigh in her heart.

‘As expected of mother and daughter, their methods are quite consistent.’

“That’s enough for today. I’ll tell you more when I have the chance. For now, let’s go see the headmaster.”

When Cecia mentioned the headmaster, her gaze sharpened.

Speaking of which, a large part of the reason she had come along today was because of this very headmaster.

Eve and Cecia had arrived at the tallest tower in Planden.

They made no effort to hide their footsteps, ascending slowly until they reached a door.

Here, Eve could already hear screams coming from behind it.

“Damn vampires! I swear I will never coexist with you!”

Cecia frowned.

As the headmaster of Planden, he shouldn’t be openly defying the decrees issued by the Queen, should he?

“Li Guang, run! You are the hope of us humans!”

Hearing this name, Eve’s expression immediately darkened, and she pushed the door open directly.

Inside, the spacious office housed a television over forty inches in size.

Sitting in front of it was an old man who looked to be in his sixties.

He was holding a controller, maneuvering a character on the screen in a thrilling boss battle.

“Li Guang, one of the protagonists of the Vampire Crisis series, who also appears in the ninth installment. So, should I call you Lord Mithor, or Headmaster Milady?”

“You know, gaming requires immersion. Stopping midway is the most frustrating thing.”

The old man before them, Milady, put down his controller and slowly turned around.

Cecia had entered with Eve, and she watched the Headmaster of Planden cautiously.

“Hey, relax, both of you. If I truly held any ill will towards you, would the Queen have allowed you to enroll in my academy?”

“That was before she knew you went to the Northern Border Defense City without permission.”

Eve ruthlessly pointed out the flaw in his words.

Milady awkwardly rubbed his head.

“I have to admit, human games are just too much fun. I just wanted to be the first to play the new release. I’m old, after all. I need something to pass the time.”

As he spoke, Milady stepped aside, revealing a large wall of games set up in the room.

“Don’t try to change the subject. What were you really doing in the Northern Border Defense City? It surely wasn’t just for a game, was it? And you should also account for the whereabouts of the other missing Earl!”

Faced with Eve’s aggressive questioning, Milady chose to compromise.

“Alright, humans are said to be broad-minded. Although your… chest is broader than your mother’s, why does it feel like your temper is even more fiery than hers?”

Before Eve could retort, a purple light shot out from her and struck Milady.

A pained cry was heard, and then the Queen’s voice came from within Other Shore.

“You old coot, just talk to Eve properly about business. Don’t drag me into it. Whatever Other Shore can hear, I can hear.”

With that, Other Shore floated back to Eve and was put away by her.
