The Chuunibyou Speech and the Lilymon Dream

Chapter 1591,235 words11 min read

Huang Xiu herself hadn’t expected her seemingly chuunibyou campaign speech to unexpectedly win over so many people.

She ultimately triumphed over the other candidates, securing the position of practical committee member with a significant lead in votes.

“To be honest, I still don’t understand!” The cafeteria was somewhat crowded after class, so Huang Xiu and her friends squeezed into a corner table.

At that moment, she spoke with a puzzled expression. “I honestly thought what I said sounded incredibly chuunibyou.”

“Sister Xiu Xiu,” Ying Zhiyu said, setting down her chopsticks. “Aren’t you underestimating your own popularity?”

“What popularity?” Huang Xiu grew even more bewildered.

“Just think about it!” Ying Zhiyu began counting on her fingers. “You’re strong, incredibly talented, have an excellent track record, and you’re a stunningly beautiful girl. Plus, your speech just now was so cool and confident. Why wouldn’t people vote for you?”

“It makes no sense!” She shook her head, her twin pigtails, freshly tied that day, swaying behind her.

“I don’t think so.” Huang Xiu blushed slightly at the praise; it was rare for someone to commend her so openly.

After all, adults generally valued subtlety and restraint.

“It’s exactly like that.” Bu Chenghua, sitting opposite, nodded with a knowing look. “If I had said those words, people would probably just mock me in secret. But for a powerhouse like you, a confident, cool, genius beauty? Who wouldn’t be drawn to that? Even if it’s chuunibyou, it’s a bonus!”

‘Tsk, so it’s because of my gender and looks…’ Huang Xiu mumbled under her breath, a sound only she could hear.

She had initially believed her performance had genuinely swayed others, but now it seemed that was merely her own fantasy.

What people truly recognized was Huang Xiu with this beautiful face, not the ‘Huang Xiu’ she had been before.

“Sister Xiu Xiu, what did you say?” Ying Zhiyu tilted her head, certain she had heard something.

“Nothing!” Huang Xiu looked up, a smile gracing her lips. “I just realized this dish, while pretty to look at, tastes quite ordinary.”

“Really?” Ying Zhiyu’s mouth was stuffed with food, her cheeks puffed out like a hamster’s. “I think it’s delicious!”

“If it’s delicious, then eat more.” Huang Xiu said with a smile.

The evening class ended at 6:30. By the time Huang Xiu finished eating in the cafeteria and returned to her dormitory, it was already past seven.

She first used the public microwave to heat the stewed meat she had packed from lunch and brought back to the dorm, devouring it quickly.

Only then did she change her sanitary pad and take a quick shower.

Rubbing her wet hair with a towel, Huang Xiu padded barefoot to her computer desk.

After a brief moment of contemplation, she made a decision. “Tonight, I’ll start by watching *Naruto*!”

Professor Yuan’s next ability development class was on Friday morning, and today was only Monday.

Therefore, Huang Xiu wasn’t in a rush to complete the short paper on future ability development directions within the next few days.

Her main plan for today was to go through all the *Naruto* episodes featuring Wood Style, recording any techniques that held potential for reference. She would analyze them in detail later.

Moreover, merely drawing inspiration from *Naruto* wouldn’t suffice; she also needed to find other works that featured plant-based combat.

With this thought, Huang Xiu turned on her computer. She quickly searched online for which episodes featured Wood Style, then skillfully typed in the URL of an online streaming site and began watching.

“Watching anime by official decree really feels different.”

Sipping a Coca-Cola she bought from the cafeteria, Huang Xiu half-reclined in her chair, a look of utter contentment on her face, happily watching the screen.

The courses at the Awakened Higher Vocational College were truly unique, far more interesting than the tedious classes in high school.

She admitted that she felt a certain relief now. If she were thrown back into her second year of high school and given a choice again—to continue until senior year or directly enroll in Tiandu University—even without the transformation factor, Huang Xiu believed she would unequivocally choose to enroll directly in Tiandu University.

Many *Naruto* episodes featured Wood Style. Huang Xiu was still watching at nearly ten o’clock when she decided to call it a night.

After all, she had a combat class and an introduction to Void Arts lecture tomorrow.

The combat class wasn’t particularly relevant, as it held little use for Huang Xiu, a ranged summoner.

However, Void Arts were different. They could compensate for weaknesses and significantly enhance an Awakened individual’s strength.

Huang Xiu finished brushing her teeth and was about to go to bed when Huang Xiaoxian suddenly tugged at her clothes.

“Master, I need your help.”

The green furball looked up, its expression full of hope.

“What kind of help?” Huang Xiu asked curiously from her bed.

Huang Xiaoxian, despite its internet addiction, was generally quite sensible and rarely asked her for things. This was the first time it had actively sought her help.

Huang Xiu couldn’t help but wonder what Huang Xiaoxian desired.

Upon hearing Huang Xiu’s words, Huang Xiaoxian burrowed under the bed, then crawled out shortly after, clutching a phone.

It held the phone in both hands, turning the screen toward Huang Xiu. “Master, look at this Lilymon, isn’t she beautiful?”

Huang Xiu glanced at the screen. It displayed a Digimon resembling a fairy, with pink petals for hair and clothing, and green leaf-like wings on its back.

“She’s very beautiful.” She nodded. “So, what does that have to do with you asking for my help?”

“Master, look…” Huang Xiaoxian began to explain. “Lilymon evolves from Togemon, right?”

“Yes.”

Huang Xiu nodded, instantly understanding. “You want to transform into Lilymon too?”

“Yes, yes!” Huang Xiaoxian nodded frantically. “I’m so short and ugly like this… There’s no reason why other cactuses can evolve so beautifully, but I can’t!”

During its time surfing the internet, it had inadvertently uploaded photos of itself, only to receive comments like ‘newest monster.’ Sometimes, it couldn’t even post them.

This had deeply wounded its once confident spirit.

“Don’t be silly.” Hearing this reason, Huang Xiu couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. “That’s just an anime, not the Present Wo—”

Before she could finish, she suddenly paused, lost in thought. ‘Wait… anime?’

Huang Xiaoxian didn’t notice Huang Xiu’s reaction, assuming its master didn’t want to help, and continued to plead. “But Master, your ability can change my body. There’s no reason you can’t change it into that, right?”

Huang Xiu nodded at its words.

‘That’s right…’ While she probably couldn’t transform Huang Xiaoxian into Lilymon’s exact appearance, she could enhance it, just like the Blade-Slashing Sophora tree giant!

Unlike other mutated plants, Huang Xiaoxian could exist indefinitely. It could actually serve as her early-game helper, before she acquired other mutated plants, aiding her in quickly progressing through the initial development phase.

If she could continue to modify Huang Xiaoxian, she could even cultivate it into a single mutated plant with extremely powerful individual qualities.

With this thought, Huang Xiu’s mind was made up. She stood up, walked over to Huang Xiaoxian, and crouched slightly.

Looking into Huang Xiaoxian’s green pupils, she spoke in a seductive tone, “I can’t create that exact appearance, but I can help you with some modifications.”
