Walking along the path to the examination area with Leon and Land.
Black carefully read the entrance exam instructions in his hand.
The format of this year’s entrance exam was as follows.
The academy had pre-designated five areas in the back mountains.
New students would be randomly assigned to different areas.
A certain number of draconic creatures had been released into each area.
New students could choose to team up or act alone, earning points by hunting these creatures.
The more they hunted, the higher their score would naturally be.
Finally, their scores would be used to determine their class assignments.
The exam itself was simple, and the draconic creatures released were not high-level, so they wouldn’t pose a threat to the new students’ lives.
Additionally, there were proctors on patrol. If an emergency occurred, they would intervene.
The proctors were composed of teachers, student volunteers, and Dragon-Slaying Guards.
As the president of the Volunteer Corps, Kristine was naturally one of the proctors.
The area she was responsible for was Area A.
In previous years, the new student exams followed the same rules and arrangements, and they usually ended normally without any incidents.
However, Black knew that this year might be different.
An undercurrent was already surging beneath this exam.
That seemingly benevolent old Pope, Randolph, had already interfered.
According to the original plot, as the second event of the first chapter.
Randolph’s influence had already infiltrated the academy, and he had secretly sent people to release a Level 60 Phantom Dragon into Area A.
This type of dragon, like the Dragon King of Madness, belonged to the Demonic Dragon species.
The Demonic Dragon species was a type of dragon with a weak physical body that primarily relied on psychic power.
The Dragon King of Madness was the king of the Demonic Dragons, holding dominion over darkness.
The Phantom Dragon was a high-ranking species among the Demonic Dragons, extremely skilled in mental control and attacks.
It could easily and temporarily convert creatures of a lower level than itself into its servants.
To be used for its own purposes.
Therefore, to fight this dragon, one had to defeat its servants first before being able to attack its main body.
Its appearance in the entrance exam was, in itself, a deadly trap.
The Phantom Dragon’s power was of the same origin as the Dragon King of Madness.
Once Kristine came into contact with this dragon’s psychic power.
It would stimulate the Dragon King’s soul hidden within her, ultimately causing her to completely lose control.
According to the original plot, it was during the battle with this Phantom Dragon that Kristine lost control and went berserk.
She severely injured several student volunteers, one of whom died from their injuries.
This tragedy dealt a heavy blow to Kristine, plunging her into extreme pain and a state of collapse.
Normally, even if Kristine went berserk, the teachers at Dragonheart Academy were not to be trifled with.
With their levels, they were fully capable of subduing the rampaging Kristine and killing the Phantom Dragon.
Unfortunately, how could Randolph not have thought of this?
He didn’t just place a high-level dragon in Area A.
The other four areas were not spared either.
The chaos that erupted in those four areas due to high-level dragons happened much earlier than in Area A.
This resulted in all the teachers and Dragon-Slaying Guards from Area A being drawn away, leaving only student volunteers as proctors.
In short, Black’s core objective for this trip was to prevent this tragedy from happening.
His idea was simple.
As long as he could stop Kristine from entering Area A and have her switch to another area, this crisis would be resolved.
As for the Phantom Dragon, he could leave it for others to deal with.
The only problem was, what reason could he use to persuade Kristine to change her plans?
Kristine was a very rule-abiding student. Without a sufficient reason, she would not randomly disrupt the arrangements made by the academic affairs teachers.
Black had thought about it for a long time before but couldn’t find a suitable excuse.
Fortunately, he had been inspired by something Leon had said offhandedly.
This is what Leon had said to him at the time.
“Women, you see, are easy to trick. As long as she has a bit of a good impression of you, you just need to find the right moment, give her a kabedon, and once her heart starts racing, she’ll agree to anything.”
Whether this advice was moral or not was beside the point. With a guy who looked like Leon, he definitely wasn’t short of women.
His words were based on past experience and were actually quite credible.
Black grew thoughtful. He decided to treat a dead horse as if it were still alive.
He would use this method.
Even if he was cursed as a lecher afterward, he would accept it.
…
The bell signaling the start of the exam rang, and the new students poured into the various areas of the back mountain like a tide.
After arriving at the waiting area, Black’s 30th Squad of the Dragon-Slaying Guard was assigned to be in charge of Area B.
His gaze immediately locked onto that familiar, beautiful figure.
Kristine’s silver-white hair shone in the sunlight as she was talking with several teachers, preparing to head to Area A.
Time was short. Without a moment to think, Black crossed through the crowd in a few quick steps.
Under everyone’s astonished gaze, he grabbed Kristine’s slender wrist without a word.
He pulled her into an unused storage room nearby.
“B-Black?!”
Kristine’s eyes widened in surprise, her amber pupils trembling slightly.
The force on her wrist was strong. This domineering action from Black made her heart race, and two clouds of red appeared on her cheeks.
But she didn’t struggle. She believed that there must be an important reason for Black to act so abnormally.
With a “thud,” the door closed, shutting out the noise from outside.
In the small, confined space, the atmosphere became delicate.
Black directly pushed Kristine against the wall by the door, creating a pose similar to a “kabedon.”
But there was not a hint of romance in his eyes, only an unprecedented seriousness.
He stared intently into Kristine’s clear eyes. They were so close that they could hear each other’s breath.
Kristine could clearly sense the scent on him.
It was a mixture of sunlight and sweat, not unpleasant at all.
“Black… you…”
Kristine’s voice was barely audible.
Her fair cheeks turned crimson at a visible rate, the blush spreading to her delicate earlobes.
Her eyelashes fluttered nonstop.
“Kristine.”
Black’s voice was low and hoarse.
“Can you promise me that you won’t proctor in Area A?”
“Huh?”
This question was completely unexpected for Kristine. She subconsciously shrank back, her head already against the wall.
Her fingers unconsciously clutched the front of Black’s uniform.
She asked blankly.
“W-Why?”
Black’s gaze roamed over her face, from her trembling eyelashes to her slightly parted cherry lips.
“I hope… you can go to Area B with me.”
“I want to stay with you all day today.”
The words were quite intimate, but his intention was pure.
The sentence was like a stone dropped into a calm lake.
Kristine’s pupils suddenly dilated. Her lips trembled, and she was speechless for a long time.
Her chest heaved violently; even through her uniform, her racing heartbeat could be felt.
She had never expected Black to say something so direct, something that could even be considered offensive.
