“Meow, meow!”
Attention quickly shifted to the cat-girl, which made Xiao Bai unhappy.
She remembered the purpose of signing the contract!
Her will, conveyed through the contract’s connection, reached Gao Xin’s thoughts.
The cat-girl, Gao Xin, understood and nodded, conveying Xiao Bai’s message to the group.
“Xiao Bai says: Now we can talk. She wants to go out and play,” Gao Xin seriously relayed the message to the captain.
Because Xiao Bai was too polite and, despite being harmless, was still considered an anomaly in their eyes, she repeatedly requested the same thing.
To prevent any potential loss of control, and since Xiao Bai could break free on her own, they decided to take her out to play.
Xiao Bai’s vision of the future materialized, and the captain eventually took the cat out.
Meanwhile, Xiao Bai prepared to fly, but that’s a story for another time.
After the cat and the captain left, the remaining cat-girl was immediately taken for a check-up.
Honestly, since encountering Xiao Bai, Gao Xin has undergone so many medical exams that she feels she’s completed a lifetime’s worth.
The healing needle marks from her previous blood tests disappeared with her transformation, only to reappear on a new body.
Changing into a well-fitted outfit, Gao Xin underwent a series of comprehensive examinations: blood tests, X-rays, physical assessments, and psychological evaluations.
The results were optimistic.
Excluding the new ‘parts,’ the psychological evaluation was the first to show results.
According to professional assessments, Gao Xin’s mental health and self-awareness were intact, although her mental age had regressed by about five years, and she had developed some peculiar habits, like constantly wanting to lick her hands and face, and a stronger preference for meat.
Next were the physiological changes.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t just about looking better; she had genuinely transformed.
Her physical strength had significantly increased, with her punch delivering an instant impact of 400 kg.
Although this was only a 20% increase from her previous stats and still less than some top humans, it was impressive for her current frame.
At 1.48 meters tall, this muscle power was substantial.
The most significant enhancement was in her legs, with her kick delivering a shocking 800 kg of impact force.
During the test, Gao Xin was sent flying three meters backward by her own kick, only her cat-girl’s balance preventing a hard fall.
This enhanced leg strength wasn’t primarily for kicking people; full-force kicks put a lot of pressure on the bones, and for a normal human, such impact could easily cause fractures.
This disproportionate strength allowed Gao Xin to run 100 meters in 7 seconds and jump up to 3 meters high, with some technique and movement enabling her to reach 5-6 meter platforms.
Additionally, Gao Xin’s pelvic area had extra ligaments and muscle tissue, with joint structures altered to allow for effortless 180-degree splits.
Her spine had gained six more vertebrae, increasing her spinal rotation by 30 degrees, with the fourth-to-last vertebra forming a dual-joint structure, solely for supporting a tail.
The human tailbone structure remained intact.
“This is crucial for preservation. If the tailbone were repurposed for the tail, this person might not be able to stand upright in the future, having to walk hunched over or crawl like an ape,” the researchers explained. “Then there are the ears, located slightly above the original human ear position. The original ears are gone, leaving the skull structure largely unchanged. As they say, it’s still stereo sound.”
Not everything was positive.
Endurance had decreased, as the increased power output and smaller body size naturally reduced stamina.
Her normal body temperature had risen, making her more susceptible to the cold.
And there was her appetite.
Gao Xin had become extremely hungry, with experts suggesting a diet high in meat and sugary fruits, while reducing vegetable and starch intake.
During high-intensity tasks or workouts, she was advised to consume additional nutrients, especially vitamins and minerals like B-complex and vitamin D, to prevent cramps and rickets, as humans can synthesize vitamin D, but it’s uncertain if cat-girls can.
Thus, Gao Xin returned to her dorm with a box of nutritional supplements, supposedly containing a variety of vitamins and taurine, particularly B-complex and vitamin D.
These changes were subtle and required time to manifest, so she needed to undergo health checks every few days.
Currently, she was the second most valuable research subject after Xiao Bai.
Exhausted in both body and mind, Gao Xin pushed open the dorm door and collapsed onto the bed, falling into a deep sleep.
A while later, her sweaty roommates returned from their workout, opening the door to see a lump on the bed.
“Gao, I haven’t seen you all day. Did you go observe that…” a roommate joked, approaching the bed.
His hand froze mid-air as he saw the small, curled-up figure.
The delicate, youthful face nestled in thick white hair was heart-wrenching.
A fluffy tail—definitely a tail—was mixed with the long white hair on the bed, its tip curled around the girl’s waist.
Unconsciously, the girl’s furry, triangular ears twitched, turning toward the sound.
She must have been sweating profusely, as her damp training uniform, similar in style but several sizes too small, clung to her skin, making her uncomfortable.
In her sleep, she had pushed up her top and pulled down her pants halfway.
Her exposed belly curved beautifully due to her curled position, and her white underwear and smooth thighs were dazzling.
The roommate felt it was inappropriate, quietly retreating from the room.
After confirming he hadn’t entered the wrong dorm, he acted as if he had never been there, solemnly knocking on his own dorm door.
“Mew…” A soft, sleepy murmur came from inside, leaving the roommate uncertain.
…
“It’s incredible to think that such a drastic change, almost to a different species, could happen in just a minute, right before our eyes,” the researchers in the conference room discussed excitedly, having just finished compiling the health check information.
“Where is Gao Xin, by the way?”
“I gave her some nutritional supplements and told her to rest.”
“That’s fine. Today must have been quite a shock for her.”
“Wait, did we forget something? Where did she go to rest? We don’t want her to be mistaken for an anomaly again.”
“What?”
