Don’t do it again

Chapter 1631,235 words11 min read

‘Saying you’re not some kind of demon, then freezing us all on the road.’

A cracking sound appeared.

Nuo’ao moved his neck, the only part of his body he could still turn, and looked to the side.

Among the White Stone Mercenary Group, a burly man clearly didn’t trust the young woman’s words and intended to use brute force to break the frost on his body.

Judging from the magic essence surging from his body, the man was at a Sequence Three level.

The murderous aura he exuded, however, indicated that this man had seen blood on his blade.

“It’s just ice, watch me break it for you!”

Seeing the frost on his body continuously vibrating, a look of joy flashed in the burly man’s eyes, and his shouting became even more arrogant.

When the others saw that the frost on his body was showing signs of falling off, and that the threatened loss of limbs hadn’t occurred, their minds became active, and thoughts of imitation began to rise.

But in the entire crowd, only Nuo’ao’s heart was stone cold.

He even ignored the chill coming from the frost on his back.

Because up to this point, there was still no sign of him being able to mobilize the magic essence in his body.

‘The opponent clearly has the ability to freeze the magic essence within our bodies, so why would there be an omission?’

Suddenly, he saw a hint of mockery flash across Su Ran’s delicate, pretty face.

Her witch ability could freeze the magic essence of this group of people, making it impossible for them to even think of resisting, but such a lesson was less impactful than a real-life example.

The magic essence in a portion of the men had been intentionally left unfrozen under her control!

“Haha! It’s just ice! Break for me!”

Seeing the frost gradually showing signs of flaking off, the burly man laughed heartily, drove the magic essence in his body, and gave a violent shudder!

Seeing that he had broken free from the frost’s restraints, the burly man subconsciously took a step forward.

But his body unexpectedly tilted to the front left, out of his control.

‘???’

Looking down, he saw that at some unknown point, his left calf had disappeared, leaving only an empty pant leg.

The chill of the frost had frozen his nerves, so the burly man hadn’t even noticed his missing calf until now.

“I told you, it would have been better to just obediently wait until morning. You just had to use your magic essence ahead of time.”

Su Ran’s watery eyes swept over the mercenaries, full of innocence, as if what had just happened had nothing to do with her.

Seeing the burly man’s fate, the others all stopped their efforts, no longer daring to use magic essence to break the frost on their bodies.

“Isa, stop the bleeding for that man. Don’t let him die here.”

Emerging from the nearby bushes, Isa walked to the burly man’s side and dripped a few drops of hemostatic potion onto his wound.

Seeing Isa finish, Su Ran nodded with satisfaction.

If they had ignored the burly man, he wouldn’t have survived until morning after the frost truly melted.

“Alright, this is a warning. If you still want to cause trouble for the Witch’s Society, it won’t be this simple next time.”

Su Ran’s move had served to intimidate the two mercenary groups preparing to enter the city, making them stay put.

Now, it was time to solve the problem inside the city.

Once again, Su Ran carried Isa, while Philly and Maimai each used Elven Wings to fly toward the city of Tukulu.

Frozen in place, Nuo’ao could only watch them leave, powerless to do anything.

“By the way, Isa.”

In the sky, Su Ran, holding Isa, suddenly remembered something.

Isa, who had been closing her eyes and enjoying the embrace of Her Highness the Witch, replied lazily.

“What is it, Your Highness?”

“Do the Elven Wings switch positions? I mean, do you switch the user?”

The minimum requirement for the Elven Wings magic was Sequence Three.

Isa had advanced to Sequence Three back in Blackstone City, and an unknown amount of time had passed since they arrived in Tukulu.

With her sharp mind, there was no reason she shouldn’t have been able to learn a flight magic like Elven Wings.

Su Ran’s sudden question made Isa, who had been planning to greedily inhale Su Ran’s scent, hold her breath.

Then, she bit her lip, and her reopened eyes misted over.

“Your… Your Highness, I’m sorry. The Elven Wings magic is just too difficult for me.”

Faced with Isa’s self-blame, Su Ran was suddenly at a loss for words.

She had only asked after seeing Philly and Maimai skillfully using the flight magic, not expecting it to trigger Isa’s self-reproach.

Su Ran glanced at Philly and Maimai beside her, but they had fallen behind her at some point.

Even if Su Ran wanted to slow down now, it was too late.

So, Su Ran could only gently pat Isa’s back and comfort her, “It’s alright, flying like this is fine too.”

“Really?”

After hearing this, Isa looked at Su Ran with surprise in her eyes, seeking confirmation.

Meeting Isa’s beautiful, bright eyes, Su Ran’s heart beat faster.

She didn’t speak, just nodded in reply.

“Then, Your Highness, I want to hold you tighter.”

As she spoke, the scent of pear blossoms from Isa’s hair drifted past Su Ran’s nose, and two jade-like arms snaked around her fair neck like nimble serpents.

A blush rose on Isa’s face, her small, elegant nose drawing close to Su Ran’s skin.

The current Isa was putting into action her earlier desire to greedily take in Su Ran’s scent.

“Isa, don’t move, it tickles.”

After Su Ran spoke, she suddenly shivered.

A warm, moist sensation slid across her exposed arm.

She looked sharply at Isa, only to be met with Isa’s innocent gaze.

“I heard that… saliva can stop itching. I was thinking of helping to relieve Your Highness’s troubles.”

“Isa, that’s a rumor. Don’t do it again.”

Isa responded with a delicate “okay” and continued to bury her head in Su Ran’s shoulder.

Following behind Su Ran, Philly and Maimai heard the entire exchange.

“I remember Isa had already mastered the Elven Wings before we even got to Hermel, didn’t she? She was even better at it than me.”

Maimai looked at Philly beside her, full of confusion.

Philly replied meaningfully, “Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t ask, and don’t say things you shouldn’t say. We just need to follow quietly behind Lady Su Ran.”

‘With Lady Su Ran’s abilities, how could she not know about such a small matter?’

‘Since she doesn’t expose Isa, then I just need to pretend I don’t know.’

“By the way, we’re only just entering Tukulu now. Do you think Lecy can hold on?”

Since Philly didn’t want to dwell on the issue with Isa, Maimai opportunely changed the subject.

“Don’t worry. Although Lecy hasn’t reached Sequence Six, it would still be quite difficult for an ordinary Sequence Five to take her down in a short amount of time.”

Philly shook her head, signaling Maimai not to worry about Lecy.

“The Witch’s Book can record anything.”

“And in turn, Lecy can reproduce anything recorded in the book.”
