[Current Mission Progress: Pious Believer 1/1, Casual Believer 1/50]
After exiting the Witch Game, Su Ran noticed that one more person had been added to the Casual Believers in the mission log.
Clicking on the details, she discovered that the new believer was Canlisa.
This couldn’t help but make Su Ran curious about the change in Canlisa’s faith.
Once she found the reason, this mission would no longer be a problem.
However, it was already too late.
Su Ran suppressed her excitement and decided to ask about it tomorrow.
Already changed into her nightdress, Su Ran lowered her eyelids and closed her eyes, wrapping her delicate skin in a soft velvet quilt.
She turned on her side, preparing to sleep.
To be honest, the bed Winnie had prepared for her was extremely comfortable, much better than her bed at home, though she couldn’t say exactly how.
The only drawback was that the bed was a bit too big.
Every time she got up, she had to crawl a couple of extra times to reach the edge.
Even if another person were to sleep beside her, this bed would still be more than enough.
Crunch, crunch~
Just as Su Ran’s thoughts were wandering, a chewing sound came from outside the door, instantly dispelling any sleepiness she had.
‘Is it a mouse?’
The sound was somewhat like the swallowing noise a mouse makes after gnawing on something.
‘I suppose even the residential complex where Winnie lives can’t avoid such things.’
But it could only be said that this mouse’s luck was not very good, to run into her just as she had detached from the Witch Game, and to have woken her up.
Thinking of this, Su Ran came to the edge of the bed and got up.
She casually tied her long, loose hair into a bunch with a scrunchie, letting it fall in front of her.
‘If you had come out a little later, I might have let you go.’
Putting on her slippers again, Su Ran tiptoed to the door, preparing to go to the kitchen to clean up the mouse.
Quietly arriving at the kitchen entrance, Su Ran saw a faint blue light emanating from within.
‘Mice don’t open refrigerator doors. It must be Yuan Shirui or Winnie having a midnight snack.’
“Snacking in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?”
Su Ran peeked her head in from the doorway, wanting to confirm who it was.
But when she saw the state of the kitchen, the smile on her face vanished.
Inside the kitchen, Yuan Shirui, who was opening the refrigerator, subconsciously turned her head upon hearing Su Ran’s words.
Su Ran saw that Yuan Shirui’s mouth was smeared with bright red.
“Ahhhhh!!!”
Before Su Ran could react, Yuan Shirui was the one who screamed first.
“So noisy! Can’t you let a person sleep? If you two are so energetic, then tomorrow’s day off is canceled. All of you, get back to work for me!”
With a click, Winnie, wearing a long, jade-green nightdress, had already flipped the light switch.
She stood there, glaring at the two of them, the dark circles under her eyes still prominent.
“Xiao Ran, you scared me to death! Why are you up in the middle of the night?”
The red on the corner of Yuan Shirui’s mouth hadn’t been wiped away yet.
She was the first to complain to Su Ran.
“You…”
Su Ran didn’t answer, but instead pointed at the marks on the corner of Yuan Shirui’s mouth.
To her, Yuan Shirui’s appearance was very similar to the description of a vampire after feeding, as depicted in the informational pamphlets.
“Ah? You mean this?”
Yuan Shirui scraped off the red residue from the corner of her mouth and put it in her mouth.
“It’s the strawberry cake I was just eating. Do you want a piece?”
As she spoke, Yuan Shirui stepped aside, and a small half-piece of strawberry cake came into Su Ran’s line of sight.
“Strawberry cake? No, thank you. I originally thought a mouse had gotten into the kitchen.”
Su Ran softly repeated Yuan Shirui’s words, then shook her head.
“Alright, since everything is fine, go to bed early. You two might not be sleeping, but I still have to!”
After Winnie finished speaking, she waved her hand and returned to her room.
Su Ran, after washing her face in the bathroom, also went back to her room.
After Yuan Shirui closed the refrigerator door and saw that Su Ran’s room was quiet, she secretly slipped into Winnie’s room.
Winnie, who had said she was going to sleep, was now sitting on the edge of her bed.
Seeing Yuan Shirui enter her room, she showed no expression of surprise.
“Is everything cleaned up?”
“It’s cleaned up. All that’s left are traces of strawberry cake.”
Yuan Shirui stood beside Winnie with her head bowed.
“Tell me, what’s really going on? It’s not like you to get up in the middle of the night to sneak food.”
From what Winnie knew of her, Yuan Shirui was not usually someone who couldn’t control herself.
“I’m about to advance to Sequence Four.”
Hearing Yuan Shirui’s words, Winnie was momentarily stunned.
She hadn’t expected her words from this afternoon to hit the mark, causing Yuan Shirui to feel a breakthrough because of her.
“So, you need a large amount of magic essence as a supplement right now, correct?”
Hearing this, Yuan Shirui nodded like a chick pecking at rice.
“How many meal preps did you eat?”
Seeing Yuan Shirui’s nervous expression as she slowly held up two fingers, Winnie felt a sense of relief.
‘Just two packs, not a big deal. The rest should be enough for your advancement.’
“Twenty packs!”
Sitting on the bed, Winnie, for a moment, didn’t know what expression to make at Yuan Shirui.
She rubbed the bridge of her nose.
“It’s a deal. You get a two-day break after advancing to Sequence Four. You can check into the hospital for your advancement.”
“I’ll give you enough meal preps to eat, and on your way out, help us restock the refrigerator.”
Winnie no longer knew what to call Yuan Shirui—a glutton, or perhaps a blood barrel.
She had drunk a full twenty packs and still hadn’t completed her advancement.
“Um, Manager, there’s one more question.”
Yuan Shirui, standing to the side, looked at Winnie, still hesitating whether to ask.
“If you have something to say, say it all at once. Don’t drag it out.”
With Winnie’s words, Yuan Shirui gained confidence.
“Can my vacation be added to this break?”
For a moment, Winnie felt her fists clench, but in the end, she still said, “Yes, it can be added. After you advance to Sequence Four, your vacation time will start.”
Yuan Shirui advancing to Sequence Four was also good news.
At least her protection of Su Ran could be upgraded by a level.
Seeing the excited Yuan Shirui about to leave after hearing the news, Winnie reminded her, “Next time, remember to take the meal preps back to your room to eat. Don’t just start eating while standing at the refrigerator door.”
Fortunately, this time, Winnie had heard the commotion and came over to distract Su Ran, giving Yuan Shirui a chance to clean up the mess.
“Hehe, I was just too hungry preparing for my advancement to Sequence Four. I had just started eating when Xiao Ran appeared.”
After eating the meal preps and filling her stomach a little, Yuan Shirui had been about to wipe her mouth and leave.
She hadn’t expected to run into the sleepless Su Ran.
Fortunately, she had been quick-witted, letting out a scream to get the attention of Winnie, who also hadn’t been asleep, to come and help.
She wiped the bloodstains from the corner of her mouth and replaced them with strawberry cake cream, successfully deceiving Su Ran and getting away with it.
Otherwise, Yuan Shirui’s identity as a vampire would have been exposed to Su Ran.
