Nadia put her hands on her hips, pouting, looking as if she were disappointed in a hopeless case.
“We are the core members of the Academy News Agency and the Saintess’s Fan Club!”
“You must believe that the power of words is limitless!”
“As long as we do a little artistic embellishment and add some spice, I guarantee we can turn him from a great hero into a despicable villain that everyone wants to beat up!”
As soon as she finished speaking.
She found that the other girls were suddenly looking at her with horrified expressions.
They all took several steps back in unison, creating a large distance between them and her.
“What’s… wrong with you all? What’s with this reaction?”
Nadia asked, puzzled.
The other girls pointed trembling fingers behind her in terror.
Nadia’s heart skipped a beat, and she spun around.
She was so scared she let out a small “Ah!”
Black had, at some point, appeared silently behind her.
He was looking at her faintly with those deep black eyes.
Then, Black suddenly raised his hand towards her!
“W-W-What do you want to do? M-My father is an Imperial Marquis!”
Her voice changed in pitch from fear. She crossed her arms and warned him in a panic.
She was terrified that Black would hit her.
However, Black simply reached out his hand, under her terrified gaze.
And picked a little green caterpillar from her fluffy hair.
“Next time you’re tailing someone, remember not to hide in the bushes.”
Black placed the caterpillar on a nearby leaf, the corner of his mouth curving into a gentle smile.
That smile was so clean and warm, creating a strange contrast with his stern appearance.
Nadia, who had been extremely nervous, was instantly stunned.
Her cheeks flushed “swoosh,” her heart beat erratically, and for a moment, she forgot what to say.
Black looked at her, then glanced at the other girls who were as quiet as cicadas in winter.
He asked.
“Are you really Kristine’s fan club?”
Nadia nodded blankly, answering subconsciously.
“Y… Yes.”
‘Well, that’s a coincidence.’
‘Perhaps that matter can be entrusted to them.’
Black thought to himself.
Thinking of this, he said with a very “friendly” smile.
“I’m here to see Headmaster Troy.”
“What do you think would happen if your headmaster found out about what you were just saying?”
Hearing this, the girls visibly panicked.
They didn’t think Black was bluffing.
After all, the headmaster had indeed said he would give Black some gifts.
If he took this opportunity to snitch on them to the headmaster, they would be finished.
They would definitely have their academic credits deducted!
After all, that old geezer of a headmaster was very mean!
Nadia’s face turned pale and then white. She felt that things were looking bad.
“However, since this is your first offense, as long as you do me a small favor, I’ll let it slide.”
“What favor?”
Nadia asked with a suspicious look.
“You’ll know when the time comes. That’s all. See you ladies next time.”
After speaking, he turned and left before the girls could react.
The hem of his black uniform drew a clean arc, leaving them with only a mysterious back view.
It left the group of schoolgirls staring blankly, unable to come back to their senses for a long time.
After leaving those “innocent and foolish” schoolgirls, Black couldn’t help but marvel at Kristine’s charm.
To think that even a fan club with such modern characteristics had appeared.
However, this seemingly nonsensical fan club might actually be of unexpected use.
…
Passing through the lush academy gardens, the iconic white loft was already in sight.
Black straightened his uniform, took a deep breath, and stepped inside.
The interior was quite spacious.
On both sides of the wide corridor hung portraits of past headmasters.
Their deep gazes seemed to penetrate through time, watching every visitor.
Black’s expression became a little more serious.
Every headmaster hanging here was of the Emperor-Tier.
In their respective eras, they had been figures of great renown.
After explaining his purpose to a young sorcerer in an assistant’s robe.
He respectfully led Black to the top floor.
The elevator here was not powered by electricity, but by some kind of magic array that used magical power.
One only needed to stand on it and input magical power to rise automatically.
It was quite novel.
After reaching the top floor, the assistant stopped in front of a large white oak door and knocked gently.
“Come in.”
A voice that was both gentle and dignified came through the door.
It sounded clearly in Black’s ears, as if the speaker were right next to him.
The assistant pushed open the door, stepped aside to let Black in, and then silently withdrew.
Black felt quite apprehensive.
Although Troy in the game was a rigid person, he was always an upright character.
He didn’t know what he would be like in person.
Just as he was about to walk in, suddenly, many fish swam out of the room.
‘Fish?’
Black was stunned.
He rubbed his eyes in disbelief and looked again.
It really wasn’t his imagination.
This school of fish swam freely in the air, as if without support, wandering aimlessly.
‘Something’s not right.’
Black noticed that these fish were shimmering, more like some kind of energy bodies.
‘Good heavens! Could it be an external manifestation of magical power?’
After thinking about a certain point, Black finally understood.
The external manifestation of magical power was a phenomenon where an individual’s magical power was so immense that it could affect the surrounding environment.
This school of fish was entirely someone’s overflowing magical power.
If that person wished it, these fish could turn into magic bombs in minutes.
As for who that person was, the answer was already obvious.
‘As expected of an Emperor-Tier Sorcerer… terrifying!’
Black narrowed his eyes and walked forward.
Troy’s office was less of an office and more of a combination of a small, circular library and an observatory.
The dome was made of transparent magic crystal, through which one could see the blue sky and flowing clouds.
The walls were lined with bookshelves that reached the dome.
They were packed with all sorts of ancient books.
Judging by their old and damaged covers, they were at least sixty years old.
In the center of the room was a desk carved from some kind of dark wood.
Seated there was an old man with white hair and a white beard.
Seeing this headmaster up close, Black could better feel his calm and steady temperament, honed by the passage of time.
Troy wore a simple dark blue robe, and his wrinkles were like carved lines, showing his age.
But his eyes were exceptionally clear, as if they contained a sea of stars.
Occasionally, a flash of wisdom that could see through a person’s heart would flicker in them.
He was holding a thick book in his hand.
Upon seeing Black enter, he smiled and gently placed the book on the desk.
Black was about to introduce himself, but the other party spoke first.
“To have such a commanding presence, you must be Black, yes?”
Black was a little surprised and quickly nodded.
“Black, the rising star of the Dragon-Slaying Guard and the honorary student of our academy. Welcome.”
Troy’s voice had a peaceful quality that was as pleasant as a spring breeze.
But it also invisibly exuded the faint pressure of an Emperor-Tier powerhouse.
