She’s calling you too.

Chapter 179793 words7 min read

Vivian held her daughter, feeling the soft little body and milky scent. Joy nearly overflowed.

The exhaustion and chaos from days of territory management seemed half-dispelled by that crisp “mama.”

She couldn’t resist rubbing her cheek against Luna’s tender face, eliciting another string of giggles.

“Did you hear? Lucia! She called me mama! So clearly!”

Vivian rarely showed such unclouded, even silly smiles. She looked up at Lucia, tone brimming with boast and excitement.

Lucia watched the mother-daughter embrace, azure eyes tinged with longing.

She nodded gently, smiling. “Yes, I heard. Our Luna is a clever little one.”

Then she reached out, fingertips brushing Luna’s soft lilac hair—eyes holding faint, hidden envy and anticipation.

As if confirming Lucia’s words—or encouraged by her mothers’ joy—Luna wriggled in Vivian’s arms. Clear big eyes fixed on Lucia. Her tiny mouth moved, producing a deliberate syllable:

“Mama!”

Less crisp than for Vivian, but undeniably for Lucia!

Lucia froze entirely. Clear azure eyes widened. Unbelievable joy lit her face.

She instinctively covered her mouth, voice trembling. “Vivian… she… she’s calling me too…”

“Yes! Calling you too!”

Vivian grinned wider. She shifted so Luna could see Lucia better. “Quick, Luna, say it again. This is mama—and this is mama too.”

Luna found it fun. Seeing Lucia’s surprised, expectant face, she repeated effortfully: “Mama!”

Clearer this time.

Lucia could hold back no longer. She reached out, carefully joining Vivian in hugging Luna—feeling the tiny, warm life.

“Mmm… mama’s here too.”

Instantly, the tent’s one mother and one bargain “dad” surrounded little Luna. Earlier “unfairness” vanished—only shared joy and pride in her growth remained.

This warm scene soon shattered.

The tent flap lifted. Lucia entered expressionless with fresh files—about to report, but her gaze locked on the unusually harmonious carpet scene.

“…Demon Lord? What’s this?”

Ice-blue eyes flickered confusion. She rarely saw Vivian so soft.

Vivian looked up, smile lingering, tone unprecedentedly light. “Lucia! Perfect timing! Luna can say mama! Just now—super clear!”

Lucia paused slightly, gaze shifting to Luna held by both Lucia and Vivian.

The little one sensed attention, curiously eyeing the always-chilly Frost Banshee—then, under all eyes, Luna blinked. Tiny mouth opened, producing a syllable that nearly dropped Lucia’s files: “Luo… Lu!”

Not perfect, thick with baby lisp—but unmistakably Lucia’s name!

Lucia stiffened completely.

Pupils contracted. Even her faint, ever-present chill seemed to freeze.

Clearly, though Lucia saw herself as temporary help, being called still shocked her.

“…She… called me?”

Her voice sounded dry, stunned—never imagining this occasionally noisy tot could say her name so clearly.

“Hahaha!”

Vivian burst laughing. “Exactly! Luna! She recognizes you! You visit too often—she remembers!”

Lucia chuckled too, gently rocking Luna. “Seems Luna likes Aunt Lucia.”

“…I’m not an aunt! Don’t get cocky, harpy!”

Lucia gritted teeth, feigning menace—but then stood, meeting Luna’s pure eyes reflecting her, seeing the toothless grin.

She fell silent seconds, finally nodding faintly, exhaling with subtle softness. “…But she does seem clever.”

Then Aria and Luna, drawn by noise, entered one after another.

“Demon Lord, what hap—”

Aria’s question cut short seeing Lucia-held Luna excitedly waving tiny hands.

Luna spotted two more familiars—grew even more excited.

First to Aria, who always brought tasty milk cakes, reaching out: “Ai… liya! Cake!”

Aria’s eyes bulged, cheeks flushing crimson, nearly jumping. “Heavens! Miss Luna! You… you know my name?! And cake! Demon Lord! Did you hear?!”

Vivian nodded smiling. “Heard it. This little glutton only remembers your treats.”

Then Luna’s gaze landed on little succubus Luna.

Privately, Luna was liveliest—often sneaking shiny safe toys. Luna eyed her outstretched but hesitant hand—finally spotting the heart-tail, mouth wide, loud syllable: “Nai Nai! Shiny!”

“Huh?”

Luna blinked—then reacted biggest. She bounced instantly, succubus heart-tail wagging wildly, babbling excitedly. “She called me Nai Nai! Knows shiny! Demon Lord, you heard! Little Luna likes me best!”

She lunged to hug—halted by Aria’s icy glare.

“Mind yourself, Luna.”

Luna shrank back but excitement undimmed.

The tent filled with laughter. Luna seemed to unlock wisdom instantly—mimicking, repeating adults. Mostly single words or simple—but clearly grasping meanings. Each utterance drew delighted encouragement.

“File…”

“Dinner…”

“Water…”

She even pointed at Vivian’s mountain of files, mumbling something like “file”—making Vivian laugh wryly. “Done for. This kid might be a workaholic too.”

Lucia gently corrected, guided. “That’s file—but Luna doesn’t need to worry now~ Come, say—this is light.”

She condensed soft light motes. Luna watched, baby-voiced: “Light…”

The group’s “lesson” around Luna lasted a while—until she yawned, tired. Lucia softly hummed a lullaby, coaxing sleep.
